  1. The snout looks a little "bubbly" and is the version without the riser plate. If you wanted to - smooth it out with some light sandpaper and make your own riser plate.
  2. Okay...cool. The greeblie is correct but the size of the SC TD gap is too small. Most folks are using an ABS shim, Velcro, etc and that seems to work well. I believe SC is recasting the TD to be a bit more accurate in size.
  3. For general clearance, not required. For a more accurate look and for Lancer approval...yes. I've updated my helmet and used decals from Trooperbay, an MC snout (you can also pick these up from Don-Jarr), and then used the 3M bolt covers. For mine, I used a dremel to whittle the 3M-s down to just the round covers and then glued them on. Easy enough...
  4. Wow, great work on the CB conversion LW. I had no idea you went through such an ordeal with him over the lid. I've had a similar experience with him. Also, it's really cool to see yours and Matt's comparison pics in one post. It helps a guy like me see the differences in shape, form, and fashion. Nice work m8t. Do you plan make your LW lid available to scouts?
  5. I believe the 2011 specs are still valid and the Lancers are working on updates. You might check w/Marcel, Chex, or Cyberscout to be sure.
  6. Neither are required for general clearance...just need to have the T-bits present.
  7. Thanks Jeff, looking forward to seeing more of this helmet.
  8. Awesome work on this John...as always you are a credit to us all!
  9. I believe that for Lancer approval, they need to both point forward.
  10. I did trim the backside a bit and then used double-sided tape.
  11. Very nice Jeff! So good to see you doing this post. The helmet looks awesome. Is this a 3 piece assembly?
  12. What, no KS helmet? Great post Matt, I really like your helmet comparisons and work!
  13. Nah, you can still pickup the 3M bolts. Another member actually has a sales thread for them here too (see below). The KS kit uses furniture pads which look similar, but are not screen accurate. Although they are okay for 501st clearance, they should be replaced for Lancer or a more screen accurate look. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8800&hl=&fromsearch=1
  14. No problem, very glad to help! Yeah, I'm a slim fella mostly due to Diabetes and Celiac. But, I still rock the gear and love to troop!
  15. I'm 6"2, 165 lbs and wear an XL hat. So...I would put myself in the "larger head" category. The KS helmet fits nice with room to spare.
  16. Yep, I have seen several "home made" helmets using Pepakura.
  17. IMO...It would be really cool to have an "official" name for the holdout blaster. 18. Not sure if this will help but a fellow member (loosetoon) has posted his templates. Great stuff... http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9240&st=20
  19. Looking much better Chris! Great work so far. In the last pic closeup of your boots, the suit zippers are present. You will need to hide or remove those guys. Other than that, I would also make sure to place the forearms on top of the gloves.
