  1. Yeah possibly, but I would have thought that would just be down again to rushing these out. They probably just made a load of the same size, to fit different size boots. They wouldn't of had the time to craft a pair of boots to a certain trooper like we do
  2. If going clean, I'd suggest you go with the white pouch option. I've never been a fan of the film scout weathering, I mean where would they get big black dots in a Forrest???? For me they put no thought at all into it, and just rushed it. I opted for subtle earth tones, with green/brown scratches, to look like tree scrapes. Then the odd oily flick using a tooth brush to look like oil leaks from the speeder
  3. If you can get one the ROM/FX is by far the best
  4. Can I ask what size Velcro you have on the back of the vest
  5. They don't often go super tight to be honest bud, I think you may have gone a little too wide on the ear holes
  6. These are the sort if thing you want http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290854428788?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT You don't want anything with stitching or different colours on the sole, yes you can paint the soles, but it would soon wear off. I wouldn't recommend painting a sole to be honest
  7. I don't think the lady actually took on the work Kelly, by how it reads. I'd ask her to just go for it Simon. Just make sure you give her a decent pattern, unless you are cutting it out for her
  8. The rivet is ok, if you do it from the inside. I noticed they rubbed my feet when riveted from the outside, so soon turned them around
  9. I've never heard of a non clearance due to suede, myself and Chef look after the WIP's on the UKG for scouts, you would have to get in majorly wrong to get pulled up on it, since there is no 100 % accurate pattern for them! it's just a case of getting it to look right on you. Regarding getting clearance by pretending it was there, there maybe a slim chance they may get away with it, but on the first troop, when they get branded. We give the costume one last going over, at that point things would get pulled up. Dishonest troopers I'm sure would get a slap on the wrist The patches was something I brought in maybe 4-5 years ago along with the vests, so there is older cleared costumes still about, which is probably what you are seeing. So in short Simon, use the templates on here. Re size them on a printer, to suit bro and sew them on
  10. Yup speak with our Chef he will steer you right, top guy Both SC and MC are good. MC is more aimed at the thinner smaller trooper, but waiting times often put people off
  11. These don't have the correct sole cuts Paul
  12. Vynil actually is really easy to work round these, I used leather for the first time and really struggled to get them hear to where I wanted the look to be
  13. I've just completed a leather scout boot conversion for a collector using these same sneakers. Just a shame they are not the 100% accurate ones. The soles on his have gone really stiff, so definitely now shoe their age. Still a nice thing to own
  14. Agreed I wouldn't recommend these boots, the boots made to the tutorial are much nice, more accurate and cheaper to buy. As nice as they are, they just don't have the correct feel about them
  15. There is much cheaper donor boots than a Timberland brand
  16. In a nut shell they don't look right, they look more like rubber rain boots than scout boots. Toe trims are too narrow, dog bones are wrong, soles are the wrong colour. Not sure if they have the Velcro rear closure, they just don't have the right look about them in my mind. Lord knows how they can say 501st approved. The remind me if the really inaccurate CA boots from back in the day
  17. At the moment probably gloves are harder to get, the rest of the scout is fairly easy to obtain. I'd say have all your soft parts and then armour, but really there isn't much in the way of fitting armour, just elastic sizing and trimming. It's a fairly straight forward costume to build
  18. The MLCv3 was made by Mardon, but MC sells them with his kit. The Altmanns is quite a large bucket, my wife troops with one, not because she gas a big head, more as that's what I had on the shelf lol. I use a MLC also, but am waiting for a LW for myself, the. Il give mine to the wife
