  1. I do the entire trim, if not you just get a horrid gap over the top
  2. I would say no one can answer that as no one knows mate to be honest. Its obvious there is double layer on the flap and we can see an approximate 10mm inner seam ironed flat. And yes dont have any external stitching. I make my pouches one layer thick only because they are beefed up with foam or whatever and so dont really need it, they all have the same 10mm approx inner flap joins, I usually sitich the pouch togther and then do a zig zag stitch on the inner flaps for strength. These just sort of flap about on the inside as you cant sew them down or it would show on the outside. The top narrow edge of the pouch does look like it has a stitch, this maybe is to stop the stuffing showing through the top as the sides do tend to gape. Most dont do this as its easier to get your pouch stuffing in and out to put in your sound system or similar. I have hand sticthed mine as per this photo, but it certainly isnt a requirment.
  3. I can do your bund and pouches no problem mate, if you havent parted with cash with the other vendor drop me a pm buddy, boots also if you dont have them
  4. Ive trooped it twice now, first time was a whole day. And it was certainly manageable, besides you can rest the butt on the floor if needs be, but I tend to favour the one arm carry with the gun facing skywards. I only did a morning and a parade at legoland as the others wanted to take it out and the wife didnt fancy it. Lee did say and I agree it made the whole scout trooping experience much more enjoyable as the public was drawn to the gun. I noticed when walking about guys say wow look at his gun, and wanted pics with it. So yeah well worth the agro building it, just wish I could figure how to mold it for you guys to share in this
  5. For me I prefer to try and keep uniform to my fellow scouts and also to have us looking the same, and opt to have the indent up. Other wise you have Jo public asking why our suits are different. It just looks far better to have us the same, but do as you wish Chris Why is it no one puts the Fish hook the other side or the helmet strips, that is also seen on screen. Same reason to keep us uniform
  6. I dont mean the trim but the whole toe section covering needed to be tighter mate, you can see a loose section where the stitches are underneith down to the toe almost. Its no big deal they should pass basic clearance unless your GML is uber picky
  7. If you take a look at that link you posted, if you look between the upright and toe on the top, there is a massive loose piece where the fabric wasnt stretched properly over the lace section. Pinning into the sole isnt very good for the first section, you want to get the pins in the crease between the suded/leather and where the sole sticks on, that way everything will go in tight. When you did yours they probably should have been heated and stretched a few times more to get it sitting flat
  8. You cant stick pins right into steel toe caps as you cant push through the steel with pins to hold the vynil while its being stretched so how can it be easier dude? With non steel you can push the pins right in to get a good hold, steel toe caps are also to big and rounded in the toe section compared to the real deal boots, hence why most use normal boots as the toe is a shade less tall and round. Ive only used steeel maybe 2 or 3 times and that was only because I couldnt get the size in normal. I stuff every boot with news paper before I start so no chance of any distortion. Trust me steel is NOT as easy as standard boots, but the choice is yours.
  9. Steel toe caps are very hard to work with as you cant stick the pins in, so I would say do not buy steel unless you 100% cant buy the right size in non steel buddy. You will want approx a meter of marine vynil, I believe mine is around 145cm wide off the roll
  10. Id say no dont use this tutorial, quite alot wrong with it to be honest. Stick with the one posted on the BSN buddy. Some points that are not good- Toe section was not stretched prior to glueing, hence wrinkles. Id use goop or E6000 glue. Dont cut the toe section to size before glueing, cut off with knife once set, just be carefull not to get any glue on the soles. Dont use pins to hold on the toe trim detail, use tape. The shaft itself is never going to be any where near 18" unless you 6'6" tall +. Dog bone trim was the wrong shape and too wide. Rear velcro far to wide. Not really sure why he cut off the pop rivits with a dremel, possible too worried about it pulling through, use backing washers and it will be fine and the rivit shaft will snap off as it should. Overall they looked poorly made but I have seen worse. Certainly not good enough to be on a tutorial for others to follow, but thats just my view. I dont think this was aimed at legion standard
  11. Yes go for marine vynil for your boots mate, not too grainy though. Ive never heard of the vynil only stretching one way. I must have made close to 100 pairs of boots and never found the vynil only stretches one way. Use heat for sure or leave them in a hot car to get a nice stretch, before attemting to glue. Heavy matt cotton is what I use called twill ior sometimes drill, although it is said that possibly a more shiney heavy weight fabric may have been used originally. But heavy weave is the key, and I suse two layers divided by a 4oz wadding packing to puff them up some
  12. Id say your vest sleeves are too long, and you need to move outwards your pouches and hang them more square but apart from that nice scout
  13. On behalf of the comand staff, we would like to welcome Sara TB-6539 to the Lancer ranks Be sure to get a picture to Daan TB-7021 for the lancer page Now get out there and make us Lancers proud sister!
  14. Im here :0). As we dont really have an exact template on the stitching ect, as long as a stitch is there to replicate a c shape thats good enough in my eyes, Its just the way I like to sew them but they do differ each time slightly, so alls good. Good looking scout hun, fits you well. As I said have a small issue with there being no return on the knees to attach the top straps too, and would urge you to get replacments. But as you are already going through lancer clearance I will let it pass. Same goes for anyone already in the application process. I do feel future apps will need the returns as it has been in the CRL for a while now.
  15. I use the honey coloured suede, E6000 tend to stick much better to the rough texture of the suede. If using smooth leather I would suggest roughing up the surface with a dremmel or sand paper
  16. Cool once your finished get all your gear on again, everything sitting in the right place ect and submit some pics of all sides again please
  17. I recieved mine yesterday, Have to say awesome work mate. The rubber has a real nice flex and strength, id say slightly more flexable than a scifire hyperfirm, and a wurthy alternative. I wouldnt hesitate pointing our scouts in your direction mate for their hold out pistols. Any chance you are ready to get these up in our trade section, as we have guys asking where to buy blasters?
  18. Please see announcements You have done everything we have asked for in quick time. Top job trooper. I would just say, we need to watch how thick those TD clips are, yours are very wide. Certainly wider than what we see on the screen grabs. That being said we havent listed a size as we dont really know for sure, so Im not going to refuse you your Lancer on that basis, but they really should be thinner looking at the grabs
  19. On behalf of the comand staff, we would like to welcome Hideki (Milo) TB-77525 to the Lancer ranks Be sure to get a picture to Daan TB-7021 for the lancer page Now get out there and make us Lancers proud brother!
  20. Nice bro everything looks much better, Il get back to you asap.
  21. Laying on a table or similar please, re do your front, sides and back shot with parts correctly placed and upright poses.
  22. Ive had a nudge asking for all CRLs to be completed so we need to get busy with this guys please
  23. The shoulder bridge covers actually remain white no matter what colour pouches ect you use, its just the pouches, drop box straps and side straps that need to be off white to suit each other. I personally would paint the inside of the helmet black, but fabric would do to darken it. Velcro will need to be removed from your pistol. Boots will need the dog bone trim re fixing as they are loose. That picture of the visor not fitting properly fitting needs attension, something like filing the bootm so you can then close the gap? The bottom edges of your shoulder bells want rounding off, draw round a coin or similar. Look at the lancer CRL for elastic strapping sizing and check these as I can see some that are too small. AS your 501st il move this to the lancer app section mate
