  1. You might also, if you eve rget the time, order a new set of knees from SC. They're a bit smaller and might work better for you.
  2. Just make sure when you get your number, to update that on your profile, along with a link to your legion profile, then request Pathfinder status. Congrats!
  3. Boot tubes are a little too tall. I know you're short lol, but there should be some bit of a gap between knee armor and top of boot. Armor looks good though. Good job on the belt.
  4. Yeah it's all about how much you can complete yourself. You're over analyzing a little lol..don't worry, we all do it. If you do nothing, the cost can run you between $1000 to $1400 depending on who you're getting stuff done from. If you can do your boots, and soft goods yourself, easily under a thousand. (That also depends on what helmet you buy and if it's assembled or not)
  5. Def what Patrik said. Terry has an awesome build thread with a lot of tips and tricks.
  6. I would check on Ebay as well, if you're looking for a finished scout helmet. Or when your post count goes past 10, you'll have access to the sale section of the boards, and just keep an eye out for people selling their bucket.
  7. If you have the money to spend and you want to buy it and use it for trooping, then you can def do that. No reason why it wouldn't be an approvable helmet, given it's lineage.
  8. I would order a new snout all together. KS snouts are not accurate at all. You can get one from DVH, he has a thread in the For Sale section on the boards. Peel the sticker off, paint the snout on the face plate and you can glue the resin snout you end up getting directly onto the faceplate. Just make sure you don't paint the parts that are getting glued. It's what I did and I haven't had a problem in almost 5 years.

    help

He would need at minimum of 10 posts before he could see that thread.
  10. We're all over the world. Officially, what ever gatherings we have as a detachment usually happen at conventions. We do do a group photo at SWW, but it's just the scouts that can make it for that day. We have our biggest showings at Celebration conventions when they happen.
  11. MC is a great set of armor, but looks better on shorter people (5'10" and under) and I would say expect it to take a year to get. SC is great, easy to mod to fit you better, and Jeff's customer service is outstanding and quick.
  12. Hang in there brother. You'll be one of us soon. As far as the standards being ridiculous, I would have to disagree with you on that one. This costume has come a long way from what was once accepted for basic clearance. And because of those standards, we are looking better then ever! Like Jim said, you can get it looking good. Just have a little patience and ifyou need any help or have any questions, just let us know.
  13. Sounds like you're on your way. Make sure to start up a progress thread once you start. That way if you have any questions we can help out.
  14. What Panda said. The undersuit doesn't have to be form fitting for basic approval, but I would recommend that you have it tailored anyways, as when it looks really baggy it just throws off the whole look.
  15. DVH is Lou (Darth Voorhes) , not Rottie lol. I think Rottie makes them as well
  16. Satin as well. I did use semi-gloss for the aerator though.
  17. Like you said, more work, but better helmet. Post up progress pics if you can when you start wrking on it.
  18. Well Marcel can also do the bund and pouches as well. Once you have everything, you can knock out the actual armor building in a weekend, with a little help.
  19. lol I just marched in the Star Wars Weekends parade and it's HOT!! I'm used to it, but when I first started I would just shove an ice pack down into my chest armor and it would keep me cool. Now, I use nothing..I just sweat. The key is hydration!
  20. Looks good. The first thing I see right off the bat is that your TD clips need to be painted a flat black. We'll discuss the rest and get back to you.
  21. Def do not paint the helmet to an off white color. Post progress pics!
  22. KS will just take a lot more work compared to MC or SC to qualify it for Lancer, but it can be done! Jst post progress, and ask lots of questions. We're always here to help.
  23. I would purchase a redkap and then PM Chunk here on our boards. He can do suede mods and the collar mod for you.
