You have the right idea so far! good job.

That's because it's not optional

The only official way to have the grooves on your boots is to actually own a pair of Sierra Sneakers like below and use them as the base for your boots. Anything else as an attempt to make it look as close as possible is a plus. Those of us putting cuts into the soles are doing so to emulate. In the costume standards, there is no pattern or measurements for cut soles. Close is good, like horseshoes and hand grenades.

Hey Ray, welcome. Text CRL from BSN in Costume Standards Forum : http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8534 Visual CRL from 501st.com : http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper You need a balaclava. Biker Scouts do not wear neck-seals.

Yes they are. Just for basic entrance, not for Lancer. What he said...

QFE I joined here in October 2008. I purchased my first part in January 2009, finished my costume in February 2009. Sometimes research pays off.

What is the best glue to assembly the Fiberglass helmet
Witness replied to Drenger77's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Oh my, you have a star fortress helmet.... -
Those are ok, need to be the same color grey as the plate on the snout.

That is why we suggest people do not shop on eBay and instead ask here. I have said all the time, shopping on eBay is hit or miss on quality, price and accuracy. What you think may be a good deal can turn out to be something not acceptable.
-
Reminder to everyone : Careful with using names and such of non licensed makers in open threads. And yes, that is the one Loosetoon meant.
-
Yes I did. I have heard people suggest Humbrol 5 too. I have found that as my helmet gets dirty and weathered, the 040 looks great.
-
I used Humbrol 040, which came out ok. Screen Used: Mine:

According to the CRL: So even the Kenner blaster could be acceptable as long as the trigger is removed and no other "toy" markings are seen. Altho, if you try to be a Lancer with one, that would be a no no.
-
They are not easy I am told. I believe kits run $150 and completed helmets run $300. The choice is yours in the end.

Oh it's not a problem, I have no issue with UK doing what they wish, I just didn't want any misunderstanding with new people here thinking it was canon for the Legion. New people will see this thread and think they can troop LFL events with a sniper rifle because someone here said so. It's all good.
-
The sniper rifle is ok to be carried for non canon events. Any event listed as canon is only to carry the holdout blaster. A lot of people carry various weapons including the DLT19 (MG-34) or some sort of carbine from LFL artwork. THE DLT20 (MG-44) is the weapon carried by IG-88 and I'm not sure how it became part of the spec. I have also seen people carrying E-11s and the Endor Rebel Rifle. I have to sift through the specs listed on this site. Please note that the only canon spec right now is the Visual CRL. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper

Just the empty helmet shell. I have seen that liner before. People buy liners like that, thinking it makes the helmet look finished for display/handling as a prop, not as a wearable costume piece. BTW, I've updated your status to 501st Trooper, you should see a few more forums now.
-
PS. Please send me a link to the sale

That helmet is a KS helmet, he just didn't put it together right. The visor/faceplate is not correctly joined and has a warp. If you purchase it, it is troopable as it is, but if you want to apply for Lancer, you will need to disassemble the helmet and repair the visor/faceplate joint. That liner, altho pretty is no good for trooping, you will fog up in seconds because there is nowhere for your breath to go. The more stuff inside the helmet around your face, the less airflow. You'll find after your first troop that the liner will have to go in favor of breathing. If he's asking more than $150, I'd go buy the kit from KS yourself or spend the extra and get them to preassemble it.

Avoid eBay like the plague. There is a reason people post on eBay instead of on the 501st Legion forums for sales. People here do not recommend their products. I am PMing you info on KS who makes an excellent helmet. Not sure you will make 8 weeks, but it's worth a try.

I can be bribed. Send money as well.

This thread should have been altered before, but I never noticed it. Please do not name unlicensed manufacturers in open forums. Perhaps call them FP? Editing thread. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=23
