TB-6640 Requesting Lancer Deployment
Witness replied to Sandeman's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Very clean and shiny... -
I would guess he means standard Biker Scout. This is the Biker Scout Armory section.
-
Ohh, for some reason I misread that. I thought you had trimmed them too small. Yeah, all of the makers make "one size fits all" forearm armor. It's not meant to cover your whole arm, more or less just part of your elbow.
-
You can contact whomever you purchased your armor from originally, be it MC, SC or whatever. If you still need some info, I can send you a PM with contact information.
-
It should be tucked in on both costumes. I wear this : http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/sear...7-465&FSR=1 For some reason they don't seem to have one in black now. Check around for same type of material in a balaclava.

The gray and black covers are glued on. The are furniture slider feet. You can pry them off with a knife. The actual screw is underneath and is a simpled screw and nut through the visor and helmet.

Good job John! Welcome to the Lancers!
-
Getting there Jason. Good luck!

From the screen shots gallery: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?auto...eq=sc&cat=3 That being said, the gap inherent in the SC and the lack of gap on the MC armor are just fine for both standard and Lancer spec. The gap does not need to be there to pass muster.

Both SC and MC thermal detonators will pass for basic scout and for Lancer with the appropriate greebles.
-
There's no better screen grabs because the movie was not done digitally in HD. Hopefully when the blue ray version comes out, they'll have some extra photos or video or something from behind the scenes. It's too bad the MOM exhibit didn't have greebles at all. Would have made life a lot easier. Some people think the shots show 2 squarish pieces, some think 3. MC put the three based on the tank topper greebles just for convenience and possible match. Others use 2 smaller square flat pieces. The bottom bicep square details and the detonator greebles will be a contention until we can find something new.
-
MC and SC armor come pre cut. I did some extra sanding on my SC armor and a modification to the tank, but they are not really required. On the Sc you will need to cut slots and drill holes, but no major shape trimming. Both armor sets come with instructions for assembly and are more or less ready to assemble. Unlike a lot of clone and tk armor sets, the two major biker scout armor manufacturers pre trim the armor for you.

Boots will arrive early next week. Lookin good so far.

I want one!
-
Just remove the logo patches and it's good to go for basic scout. Lancer requires a few additions.

Hey Mike, looks pretty good. You need to tighten up the bottom of the sleeves on your vest a bit. They are ballooning out a bit too much making it look like you are wearing shoulder pads. You could also move your pouches in about an inch on each side. But that's just being picky. The gloves look horrible... oh wait, n/m.
-
Looks good to me, and at about half the price of a hyperfirm I'd say you have a winner.
-
You could use automotive pin striping tape (like what you are using on the hump) to make the inside edge, then add masking tape on top of that so you don't have to be as accurate with the masking tape. The pin striping curves nice and smooth.

From what I can tell, KS redid their blaster in this last year. I have not seen one in person. It used to be based off of the Kenner/Stunt blaster. It is now more proportionally correct and unless someone provides me evidence it is not up to snuff, I'd have to say in my opinion it will work.
-
If I win the election this year, do I get a helmet to *ahem* test?
-
I carry my android phone in a custom cut piece of foam in one of my pouches. I play the TB file looped. People get a kick out of it.
-
Most people prefer the KS or MLC. I personally own a KS. This is what mine looks like now after modifications, repainted snout, replaced greeble, weathered, etc... Here is as it was delivered.

CB is the Legion's two letter reference for Kashyyyk Trooper, like TB for biker scout, TK for stormtrooper. The Legion started working on a name for the costume before LFL officially named it. It was originally named (in error by LFL/Hasbro) the Barc Trooper and the Legion worked on making it a clone reference. it was only 2010 that it became a Pathfinder reference and was properly named Kashyyyk Scout, altho the Legion has kept the CB reference.

For bolt covers, I used two of those clear plastic disks they place between glass and wood on a desktop. They are the right size and I just sprayed em gray to match the snout, altho for realisms sake, if you can swing the 3m bolts, do it that way.

I wear this one: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Safety-Racin...-Suit,2466.html The original screen used suits were Esprit Freedom motorcycle racing suits. No longer made regretably.
