  1. Here is what the screen used helmets did. MLC helmets come with a chin cup, others do not. I use a hard hat liner and foam on the sides to snuggly fit mine.
  2. Nice broussard, pity about the rest of the costume.
  3. Jeff, I'm in the process of putting new sticky information about all of the helmet makers in here. Just my real life job has been getting in the way so some of the forums seem a bit bare at the moment. Please have patience, I'm trying as hard as I can. The same is being done for each of the Armory sections. I will need at some point soon to get some info on your new helmet, finished pictures or something so I can include it in my write ups I am doing. The reason the years and years of discussion was moved to an archive is that some of that info is way outdated and new people have been bumping 4 year old threads and wondering why the info isn't current. I wanted all of the stickies and topics to be current and not rehashed old information.
  4. Wow, $24 plus shipping, I made mine with leftover black duck cloth from my vest and some velcro. Probably $0.50 cents worth of materials.
  5. Ah sorry my bad, very tired and little sleep. Yes, I know what you are talking about. I have one with Pathfinders, Ohio Garrison and 501st Patches on it. I made my own, not sure if anyone out there sells them.
  6. The shoulder pauldrons are a Sandtrooper item and some non Sandtroopers wear them to non canon events. Check out www.mepd.net and you will find sources.
  7. Mardon (MLC) is not the same as Cal (MC). They are two different people. Cal --> http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=4484&hl= Mardon --> http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=6754&hl= (of course he also sells in white)
  8. The rivet and dial are centered.
  9. There should be one rivet on top and one rivet on bottom. The bottom rivet should be centralized neat the bottom center of the tank, right through the tank into the backplate. The top rivet is a little more difficult. On the SC armor, there is nothing pre setup for attaching the rivet in it's proper place which is through the topper greeble. I posted a solution in this thread. Something similar or epoxy on the top will be required to complete the SC armor as shown in my photo. For Lancer specs, you can only have the one rivet through the greeble, for regular Pathfinder status and 501st admittance, you can use the rivet through the top edge of the tank into the backplate as shown in the SC instructions. This however leaves two rivets on the top of the tank which is not seen in the film.
  10. has anyone tried Krylon Fusion? For my resin blaster, I used Krylon standard grey primer, then Krylon satin black. The standard Krylon works great for resin, but it would probably flake on the rubber/resin. The Fusion may be a bit more resilient to flex.
  11. The back plate was cut out in the shape shown by the dashes. The tab was heated with a heat gun and folded up to fit in place to hold the tank. A single rivet was used through the tank greeble to affix the greeble to the tank and the tank to the backplate. A second rivet was added at the bottom of the tank as well.
  12. There are no specs for the gap. As there are Lancers who have SC (some gap) and Lancers who MC (no gap), I would suspect that is not overly an issue. we expect some gap, however with the SC the gap does not leave large openings, just an apparent uneven fit around the tank to the backplate on the sides. Again, more pictures when I get home
  13. I cut the backplate to make an opening where the tank goes and folded a tonsil shaped piece (for lack of a better description, the hole looked like a mouth with a tonsil hanging) up to meet the top of the tank so i could use a single rivet through the tank topper greeble. Maybe I should just take a picture when I get home and post it here
  14. This is an Under Armor version: This will keep your head cool under your helmet and cover up your neck between your undersuit and helmet bottom. This is similar to what was worn under the helmets in the film. Of course, they did not have the same materials we do now, so we can improve the process to keep cool.

  15. Looking great! I can't believe you managed to get the holster onto those boots. You may want to try and curve the front of the holster backplate a bit to make it conform more to the boot shape, it seems to be pulling a bit.
  16. I can move it for you if you'd prefer?
  17. Hey J, After some discussion, we'd like to see if you can clean up the boots a little. The top looks a little uneven, did you iron the fold over before sewing it? Also making sure, you used a machine right? It looks like you did, just want to check. They are also a little wide around the ankle area and at the top, particularly on the right foot when the blaster is in the holster. You shouldn't be able to see into the top of the boots. Around the ankle area, being wide can cause bunching, as you appear to have your boots very loose and open causing the ankle area to be fat. You could also use a little more adhesive on the dog bones, the bottoms near the sole need better attaching, they should not hang over the sole. it may sound like a lot, but it's probably just a simple matter of some trimming and resewing the velcro on the backs to make the calf tube a bit thinner and a bit of glue on the dog bones. Just speaking for my vote right now, but if you can clean up the boots, everything else looks fabulous.
  18. When looking for stuff, always send a PM to bluecyclone and he will get you all the info you need.
  19. J, could you post a few more full view pictures of the boots from the side, also a shot of the top of the boots when you are wearing them.
  20. I have modified the posted standards in both the Lancer Deployment Request and Costume Standards forums for Lancer to reflect a change in the wording for the pouch color and drop box strapping color from "off-white and natural white" to "off white and white". I believe the intention was to allow white and off-white pouches and cloth straps for the drop boxes as it has been determined after extensive discussion that the straps and pouches are not the same color white as the cummerbund. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding.
  21. Hahaha! I deserved that Thank you guys, I'll do my best!
  22. Since people have been asking, Lancer standards are listed in two places: BikerScout.Net > The 501st Pathfinders > Lancer Deployment Request in this thread: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=1448 BikerScout.Net > The Imperial Bulletin Board > Costume Standards in this thread: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=1364
  23. Lancer Requirements were updated here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=1448 I believe there may be a few more tweeks, but those are the set requirements including changes, so please read carefully and ask if you have any questions.
  24. Might be easier to just make new pouches.
  25. NICE! I dig the gnome boots!
