Ever forward - CRL discussion for new discoveries!
Heatshock replied to TB5994's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
great idea. yes the CRL is brand spanking new it is however agreed by concensus by guys who had access to different levels of access to different types of source material. Also to guys who have researched the costume when it was probably shady DVD. No high res 3D renders, no blue ray or high def stuff. unlike original trilogy stuff, the pictures are inconsistent. so a decision has to be made. But it needs to have enough lead time so as not to create a shifting goal post for new troopers. its would seem that with biker chicks new armour now coming online, and renewed interest in the costume, now is the right time to start the next round of CRL chat. As before. Please post up questions - then will will have a summary document and consultation (like the last one). Till then the Kashyyyk Trooper CRL Jan 2013 is in FULL effect guys. -
* links fixed*

yep - theres some variant on it. I salvaged out the CPU fans in old lap tops

cant wait - we are all waiting for yer Nate

the guys one the 1st run are NOW Only beginning to get their boots. thats the run that got put together in Dec2011/Jan2012 - so ....and wait for it.... there is .....A NEW HOPE! Kashyyyk Troopers - feel free to continue to post in here if you have questions. I am keeping a close eye on this thread so as to NOT allow it to generate sales, but hopefully crow62 will post in here again. In the meantime, happy to try and answer any questions you guys may have. I am also a mod on CT.net, which is the detachment which is trying to co-ordinate the effort with regard to all crow62 projects and delayed deliveries. Nate

the CRLs on the boots are the most loosely interpreted due to the lack and rarity of the actual boot. as long as you get the rough look - it should not be a clearance problem except for the most picky of GMLs. any boot should be fine if you modify it enough, but dremelling or building up. Nate

Heatshock's Kashyyyk Trooper Build
Heatshock replied to Heatshock's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
small upgrade some trooping pics -
good way to get fade on the pouches - using rattle cans mist white - really tones down the new paint look mist grey - tones down the glaring white mist black - adds nice weather optional - mist brown; tbh I am not convinced it makes a huge difference, but in my mind it does

DR's KST WIP (Kashyyyk Scout Trooper)
Heatshock replied to Death Recon's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
lol and the fun begins -
ok guys got you updatede on the main list I have received my boots - I was on the original run that started Jan 2012 generally well made; but as the eagle eyed among may have already spied - the sole is the wrong colour! Its GREY not sure why grey as none of the costumes that use this style boot has grey soles?

looks good mate nice progress on the pockets the colour dyes look good; remember that black misting with the spray can will also darken it up and cover up the threads too Nate -

Heatshock replied to Death Recon's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
well the new CRL is a bit more specific http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=5552 but yes, some variation on the size like 1/2 inch here and there shouldnt really matter -
either start one or with the 501st passport - your login should be transferrable now we have people coming in from ACD and royal guards. its just a matter of trying to keep on things, and it would seem, the CT.net DL is at least someone Gio is keeping in touch with, albeit very intermittantly but if you have problems - post on here and I will transfer data over there?
-
any complaint - pls post up on the CT.net thread; we are trying to centralise all the orders to try and keep on top of it. As of Jan, crow has been in touch with 3 other people. Slow progress, but progress none-the-less In the meantime, we are back to square one for these boots. The CRL remains loose for this boot cos of ongoign problems. Remember guys, its the LOOK we are going for. Options: (1) original KC or Prada boot - heh you'd be so lucky! (2) Fd by Banzai on the GM forums - Walmart carries Ozark Trail Putty II hiking boots. Price is around $30 - $40, but very reasonable. Only alterations needed is to Dremel out the "center arch" a little (found on the inner side of the boots, and you have to paint the rubber soles / bottom of the boot (3) Buffalino sentinels (4) make your own! - http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=8792

Heatshock replied to Bayani's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
tbh allan, this is one part of the build hich is still pretty loose. modified i'd say you would probably have a gd chance. remember, as long as it looks the part! ultimate say however is dpendent on individual garrison gml's -
please note that there is a general buy beware on this maker - http://forum.clonetroopers.net/index.php?showtopic=17848 please do you own research before purchase thread will be kept open in hopes that crow62 will tell us when the situation is resolved. Nate

welcome mate - we are small group at the moment, but very enthusiastic already dropped you a pm with lots of info; CRL in text has been published - http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Kashyyyk_trooper pictures are being gathered as we speak!! Nate

some questions were asked recently about strap shapes and colours. I remember the topic, but cant find the link, pm or post - it may have been you Grumpy!! apologies to the sender! as per the current CRL - each bicep has specific greebs; in addition the RIGHT bicep has a twin strap - which is GREY the straps OVER the elbow - are NOT like a typical clone troopers. It actually is another twin strap - the close up above shows you the twin straps with the camo showing through between them However, the knee straps, IMHO ARE like a typical clone troopers ie the 3 horizontal layers on the strap and the knee greeb at the connect point on both sides. The only thing is the entire strap and knee greebs are grey. clone trooper: kashyyyk trooper: however - this remains interpretional differences; so both are clearable IMHO. opinions? thoughts?

yeah sounds good. I am trying to get as many troopers included in the CRL run down; as a whole or in parts - so the more the merrier mate!

sounds gd mate email addy above. cheers
