still looks grey to me Kev? A litter grey than on the pads on the gloves, but grey. dropped you a pm other troopers - your input will be welcome as I am about ready to drop the CRL off. Nate
-
thats always been the problem w the CB think, we, as a community set a standard based on the refs we have, and go with it. afterall the crl is a standard set, which then gets modified as new info becomes available, and kwd ften has access to some awesome stuff nate

KASHYYK ARMOR INTEREST THREAD

hang on guys - the CRL says grey but as you can see in these pics - its hard to say what it is under all that weathering if you do go beige or taupe, you would have to weather it with some black to give it that greyish look Kev - you got refs that are different or is that how you are interpreting the colour in the above pic?
-
a few troopers have asked me abt this bit in the CRL here was a pic supplied to me by MB way back when I do NOT have access to any of the original pics though its not a formal 'buckle' per se. I would say you could use one if you like, and its colour is to match the grey of the strap. Alternatively, some well place thin black thread or paint would do the same Nate

looking good mate can also hide some yellow under more weathering and black blaster burns etc

ok guys - its been over 6 months since the initial call out for photos of parts. And I have yet to receive any submissions. I of course have my own costume to get piccies off, but would love to have contributions for as many active CBs as possible the original idea of having Mr Bungle has the head CB unfortunately cant go ahead, as I do not seem to have any pics of his armour with the YELLOW removed submission doesnt guarantee pics will be used. I will leave this open till end of Jan 2013 - then I will submit with what ever pictures I have. piccies need to be: (1) well lit (2) on as plain a background as possible, white preferrably (3) pictures required - similar to the TB version here - http://www.501st.com/crl/TB_CRL/TB006_Biker_Scout/index006.php pictures to be submitted to : kashyyytroopermod@gmail.com. yep - yellow is no longer in the CRL. There are some grandfathered in CB's, but new applications should not clear with yellow in their paint scheme. I wouldnt re-do the whole paint scheme. Try to go cover the areas with the base coat, green and brown. Nate

this is the current recommendations for the paint colours: * Chrome undercoat or applied topically * Krylon khaki tan for the base color/custom mix available - check with armourers for samples * Polly scale, Panzer Olive green F505113/Humbrol no 78 * Tamiya Color, Flat Earth (brown) FX-52 item # 81359 * black/grey/white misting as appropriate **** previously mentioned 'yellow' is NO LONGER part of the paint scheme **** UK colours - I custom mixed my base coat - colour matched it at B&Q from a sample from Mr Bungle. Darren1970 found some colours which are a nice match. His camo turned out looking more washed out then the other US (and mine!) and looks good really. * chrome undercoat or applied topically * base - custom Dulux = Gooseberry Fool 4 or Rustoleum Accents Fossil * Citadel Catachan green mixed with 33% white * Tamiya Flat Earth (brown) FX-52 item # 81359 / Citadel Khemri brown UK equivalents on the LEFT, US colours on the right Post up what you guys used for approval - pls include a pic of your paintjob as well pls! Nate

I removed the epaulets on the shoulders and stitched em to my collar to make it like a mandarin collar for closure the arm pockets if you have em are better removed so as not to bulk up under your bicep armour I kept my breast pockets - which actually helped in placement of my amp device Nate

list of cummerbund materials?
Heatshock replied to chilledmilk's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Soft Parts
I would refer back to LSFU piccies - http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=7645 I cant rememeber the exact measurements - but the 2-1-2-1 is now not correct, they are closer together in the front -
I have just learnt that LSFU no longer makes the KST bunds thought I'd get this started - if we post up pics of our cummerbunds for the new troopers who are gonna have to make their own mine is a LSFU version which is near perfect IMHO take into account that mine is already weathered. base is darked grey with the light grey vertical stripes added on. On top of that is the horizontal 'cloth belt' which matches the darker grey of the base close up pic of the vertical black detail strips on the front. the white thread is actually seen on the high res pics any other guys who have made their own - pls post up to aid new troopers! Thanks. Nate
