  1. not the same build, but same concept closing seams on clone armour sanding and more filling
  2. MB version back plate is at the back I used simple bondo on mine
  3. welcome mate - looking fwd to this build the ridges look like rough alignment guides, but tbh I am not sure how BS is recommending these get put together? just gluing on top? cut a hole and push the tank through like the MB set?
  4. will do Denny - Kashyyyk boots I take it? when did you order em and how much paid? If you want to keep it private - just pm me mate Nate
  5. Rofl grumpy, no it doesn't Chilled - it moved off the topic on the other thread, so used it to post up another Templates have been discussed before, so worth discussing again if we want to redo the CRL again. No booger flinging involved
  6. Here's that thread I was talking abt with dye tests on the leather http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=6025 Now remember guys, we are seeing the textured look only because of the 3d renders, not the actual screen captures.
  7. I've used oth abs and hips goop. Key is small volumes often. If u have big area to cover, remember that the acetone in ur goo can also soften the surface u are working on You will find that it skins quite quickly, at which point it is still malleable if u want to do stuff, for instance I have rebuilt return edges
  8. now based on screen cap - you begin to see the recurrent problem with the costume this pic corroborates what is seen on the 3D renders in terms of the grey colour of the straps and the greebs. but I think it was Grumpy that had once asked abt the elbow straps - that they appeared more like the traditional clone straps ie 2 raised edges at the each edge of a strap looking at that picture, that DOES appear to be true so once again 1. screen cap? 2. 3D renders? 3. stratification of different standards - and if we do, which is more 'accurate' then?
  9. some questions were asked recently about strap shapes and colours. remember that the info in THIS post is 3D render based as per the current CRL - each bicep has specific greebs; in addition the RIGHT bicep has a twin strap - which is GREY the straps OVER the elbow - are NOT like a typical clone troopers. It actually is another twin strap - the close up above shows you the twin straps with the camo showing through between them However, the knee straps, IMHO ARE like a typical clone troopers ie the 3 horizontal layers on the strap and the knee greeb at the connect point on both sides. The only thing is the entire strap and knee greebs are grey. clone trooper: kashyyyk trooper: however - this remains interpretional differences; so both are clearable IMHO.
  10. its all kind of pertinent mate - I will edit as we go along but probably best to divide it along these lines and discuss as we go along people can then post up as we go along too its all good man ;P
  11. looking good I'd say but as with the original recommendations, I would mist with white, grey and some black at the end to give it the real smudged look
  12. 3D render of the glove strap and buckle details again if someone could find me a nice detailed pic of this on screen caps - let me know!!
  13. pics from screen used are spartan - such as this this image is courtesy of Skupinkis - thanks mate but it is the 3D render - so again, it depends on what you want to take as your ref. my vote is grey, I told Kev as much in that thread too. but I am willing to accept what we decide as a group
  14. rofl indeed - here is the pic that Kev posted up here is the discussion http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10295
  15. He's now posting up on ct.net too. Hopefully this mess will be sorted soon phillip - yes pls; also are you on tehsame log in there? we have had many problems with the server at the moment
  16. I would say base grey, appearance of 2 tone (weathering or actual)
  17. are we all quite happy about the gloves? I cannot see this as another discussion issue - but pls feel free to post up more pics lots of the detail for the gloves were taken from 3D renders, due to lack of proper screen capped ones
  18. its appreciated Chilled and it was my fault - I let it get under my skin. but this is more than about me, so I took a few days break, got Grumpy to cover my lazy bum and now I am back. apologies to my clone brothers for the momentary lapse of good sense
  19. rofl. Thanks chilled. I went with the 3D look I do appreciate that although I tried to fray the borders more, it still looks too well defined
  20. that has always been the problem with the Kashyyyk Trooper - is that there werent that many scenes showing the WHOLE costume, and the majority of screen shots were in half light and in the mud heres 3D renders of the pouches this again, aside from the strict stipulation of the shapes and numbers, has the interpretation been left quite loose. I do not think there are acutally ANY clear shots of the pouches on screen. The clearest are the Hero scenes, btu you only get a glimpse, side-boob type shots
  21. yeah the Hero Kashyyyk has other difference too some say the pghfett had more of a Hero look, which isnt surprising as mike only had limited refs when he did his sculpt and yes - I think the we have come to accept the tan puches with camo painted on em now too Nate
  22. I never really liked the stark 2 tone on the LSFU versions. I in fact toned mine down with grey and white primer this is the pic I used before this is it toned down I still think its 2toned, but as a result of weathering and shading - now heres Mr Bungle's, that is his version 1 bund - which is a single tone grey, but with lots of weathering personal opinion - subtle 2 toned grey, additional weathering allowed
  23. the canvas covering was never really seen on screen, but was a 3D detail noticed - see the textured surface?
  24. this shot is also good for showing off the pouch shape - the big envelopes at the back are trapezoid shaped, not triangular templates are available and were eyeballed and scaled to the screen seen boxes
  25. ok I will admit - that we never really came to a conclusion on this the eventual CRL was decided on being quite subjective multicam was based on this scene here is my back
