If you look closely at the BARC shin guards fellas the shin guard is approximately 1 1/2" to 2" below the bottom of the knee armor. Take this into consideration. They do not go up to the bottom of the knees - there is a gap between those two pieces of armor.
-
I would say from the ankle up. The area where it "dips" below this point and joins up with the toe armor should be a standard. The rear calf area may be a problem however. This may or may not work... Which brings me to the toe armor.....this also will have to be made perhaps in three standard lengths...

These are 10" plus a little more where it "dips" below the not yet sculpted toe armor, they are actually slightly tall for me. 10" is standard, but with FG parts adding is not a problem, which is why I like modding FG parts over other types of materials. I can very easily add inches without a problem - why don't you guys post some sizes - in inches - I can make multiple molds for us 501st folks to cover the Tall, Med, and short sizes so everyone who wants them for barcs or GM's can maybe use them, just an idea.... What do you guys think ? I started adding the center raised areas where the straps go thru today while waiting for resin to dry.

Chris, that would be Ideal material. I've looked into it too but I couldn't find a distributor where you can get it in just a few yards for personal use, they wanted bulk buys only... Also, I went back to look at the pics I have and the material is def a leather type material based on the texture that I can see on the chaps.

Oh, yeah, There is no way the helmet joint, as seen in the movie, could possibly be engineered to work and still look cannon without some sort of complex system where it pulls forward first and then lifts up. I'm still thinking of how to make this work...

Any idea if the card reveals any new pics ?

You are correct, I plan on dry brushing and weathering them up to speed

Well, after searching forever for something even close to the camo fabric for my BARC project, and after being dissapointed many times over, I've decided to custom make my the jumpsuit that will include the inner thigh "chap" area and a custom Camo paint job. My research began quite some time ago with the advent of the silkscreened camo being placed on hold for the time being. Now I'm ready to begin ordering the materials for the project tomorrow. The base colors that match the pics I have consist of four main colors and the pleather "chap", which are an animal unto themselves... For starters, I can sew, but VERY slowly, and I'm rather dangerous with a sewing machine to say the least. ok, the base colors; (1) The base color of the jumpsuit IMO is Charcoal Grey I will not be making the jumpsuit from scratch, but rather purchasing one from here, then taking it in to form fit, and custom camoing the areas on the suit as needed. here is where I will be getting the Base Jumpsuit X2 for add-ons if needed. (2) The fabric paint (which I've used before) is found here - with the appropriate color of brown - McCallisters for Simply Spray fabric paint (3) Last but not least, the Faux leather fabric for the inner thigh "chaps" I call them. The correct color IMO is Charcoal Laredo which I'm purchasing from Distressed Bomber Fabric - Nice texture for weathering too Colors I like for undersuit: Jumpsuit - charcoal Grey Camo - Brown, black, and a touch of olive/panzer green in certain areas. Inner chaps - Faux leather Fabric, distressed bomber Charcoal Laredo This will be a tutorial as I move along thru this process, Next update will be when the materials arrive

List closed - empty slots now and in the future will be eliminated and not filled. So far at least (2) alledged recasters have responded to this interest thread and to be honest, I don't have the time to play games with this crap any longer. So the folks on the list - congrats - anyone else can drop a pm from this point on.

I have almost completed the cod piece, pics will be posted soon. The shins are coming along as well. I'm trying to make sure they are as accurate as possible - nice tight seam and contoured as seen in the pics. Also, the proper staps that have the appropriate texture to them.
