I bought a cheap foam knee pad from a DIY shop which I cut to size and attached to the crown with velcro. The rest is tactical helmet padding from eBay.

So I finally plucked up the courage to tackle making my boots using the excellent build guide on the Pathfinder forums here: http://forum.bikersc...l=&fromsearch=1 I started off with these for the base from Target. After a failed first attempt and some helpful advice from my GML I got the vinyl stretched over the toe. The vinyl glued and trimmed: I forgot to take a pic of the strip attached. Next the calves. Then the dog bones. I’m leaving that overnight to dry completely before I attach the holster. As ever I’d love to hear anyone’s feedback.

Thanks all. Its how I have done mine, but since ive not seen it specified anyehere i wanted to be sure.

Thanks Dauitsch. That's the info I was hoping for. Also not sure how this ended up in "Helmet", I was sure I'd put it under "armour".....

What is the expected way of attaching the drop boxes? As many of us have I've followed Panda's thread. Instead of stitching the pinch clips onto the straps (thereby making them easily removable) he uses one solid piece front to back threaded through the box with the pinch clips also threaded through. http://forum.bikersc...opic=9781&st=40 I can't find a decent screen shot, so, for someone hoping to go Lancer which is the correct method?

I'm currently waiting on some bits for my Scout Trooper build, so since I had some time..... I've always liked that Scouts are also the Empire's snipers. I don't have the funds for a DC-15x or something of that type at the moment, but what I do have is a box of nerf guns. So I took this Star Wars Rebels Stormtrooper blaster Added some extra nerf bits and some pvc pipe and I came up with this: Obviously this is non-canon (pun very much intended). Just a bit of fun.

If you're interested in an altman look in the trade forum. Spike (altman) has a thread there. -
Really like it. I'd like to achieve a similar look for mine (slightly weathered not quite as heavy as on screen but not shiny white) so I'll be following your progress with interest.
-
Id also advise reading as many build threads as possible, they're a great resource to learn about how other people put their costumes together, where they sourced them from and what issues you may run into. Have you also signed up on the terror australis garrison forum yet?

Would this from Clark Rubber be ok? https://www.clarkrubber.com.au/marine-vinyl -
Don't the pre-built SC helmets come with foam padding installed?

Is the wire wrapped tube for the TD a requirement for Lancer?

Im confused then. Isn't the new Lancer standard that the cod attaches to the bund?
-
Wasn't chef looking at this too?

The last major piece of armour to work on is the shoulder bells. As I’m not the tallest I needed to trim these a bit (hence leaving them until last). First I trimmed an inch from the very bottom. I then needed to taper them in at the sides and round off the corners in order to (hopefully) meet the Lancer requirements. Before: After: Side by side: I then really wanted to try attaching the bells using the screen accurate zip tie method. So I went out and bought a pack of zip ties and a pack of zip tie mounts. Attaching the mounts and threading the zip tie though on the shoulder bell was pretty obvious. What I couldn’t get my head around is how the mount attached to the shoulder bridge. After asking around on here what I came up with was to stick the mount to the bottom of the long strip of Velcro attaching the two halves of the armour. I then slid the white cotton shoulder bridge covers over the top of this. I cut a very small hole in the cotton and passed the cable tie through this. This has two benefits: 1. The whole ensemble is nicely hidden away and, 2, the cable tie stops the cotton from slipping off the shoulder join. It’ll be interesting to see how robust this setup proves to be. As usual I’d love to hear any feedback.

Have you contacted the webmaster on the address Glen posted above? I know that the server was recently updated so this might be a glitch.

Hey Josh. I've asked on the cadet forum for help. What is the actual error message you're getting?
-
I'm a cadet with Terror Australis currently building SC armour. Highly recomend you sign up on their forums too, we have a great, supportive community of cadets. Also some veterans who can help out with the soft parts. In fact there is talk of an armour party next month which is a great opportunity to meet and greet and see different armour up close before you buy.
