  1. I really like how you've done your riding patches. Would you consider sharing that pattern?
  2. Wave 3 is already sold out: http://www.rspropmasters.com/product/dickey-beer-signature-edition-biker-scout-helmet-wave-3-open-now/
  3. Thanks for the replies. I was initially asking as much from an approval perspective as whether it'll work. But you got me thinking, so I'll cut off a small scrap and have a try at sewing it with the machine.
  4. I now have some suede (real suede) which I can turn into riding patches and a mud flap. However I've never sewn like this before and I'm not sure my little sewing machine will cope. So I was wondering: is glueing the patches on an option?
  5. I always thought scouts would need to stay more streamlined.
  6. Ah I see. If they're curved 'cups' that sit over the metal bolts then I guess you couldn't file them. I'll probably be using the same method as you did here then. Thanks for sharing this.
  7. Could you have filed the altman bolts flat rather than replacing them? Just asking as I have an altmans on order so this thread is very interesting to me.
  8. Thanks for the feedback, looks like this might be a viable option then. Though after looking at the sizing chart I'm a little dubious lol. Another option I've seen is the Wampa Wear suit. It is a little pricey and since it's sold as a "Biker Scout Undersuit" I'd have thought they'd have the patches and elastic already on there. However, it doesn't need anything adjusted or "taken away" which reduces those costs and since I'll be getting gloves from there anyway.....
  9. Hi I've been pointed to this undersuit by a fellow member so I assume that it does meet the minimum 501st spec. My question is whether it would meet Lancer standard as this is what I am hoping to aim for? http://www.ebay.com....K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I know that the majority of members on here use RedKap however this isn't easily available in Australia hence I'm exploring what other options there are. Cheers Tony
  10. Great review, thanks for the info. This sort of post is gold for newbies like me.
  11. So do most of you use these just to "boost" your voice (so its not muffled by the helmet) as opposed to altering your voice?
  12. What type of paint do you use for this?
