  1. Finally got the blaster finished. I'm awaiting approval of a printed model before uploading though. Hopefully it will be up shortly for everyone.
  2. I've finally started uploading some of the armor parts. Thermal Detonator https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852606 TD Greebles https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852635 Should Bell https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852671 Blaster Holster https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852661 Hip Box https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852685 Belt https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852717 Forearm https://www.thingive...m/thing:2852805 Bicep w/ T-Bits https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2852902
  3. TD Greebles * I had to leave the outlines showing so you can see the details. *
  4. Thanks. Your Iron Man suit is amazing. The detail gives me anxiety thinking about making those models.
  5. And the Thermal Detonator. This is made up of several parts. The smooth black tube will be covered by the extension cord wrapping since this is as close to screen accurate as we know right now. The end caps are also concave as well. I have also added small reinforced tubes with holes to screw the TD belt clips into since this is a notorious problem with the clips not being terribly secure to the tubing. I still need to work on the detail parts though but everything is correctly sized to be able to use the current resin casts that are widely available. There are 2 versions. One that is completely screen accurate and a second which has a back plate to make for easier mounting on the belt. I use internal magnets on my belt so my TD stays in place and this gives me a mounting point on the back plate. while still looking completely screen accurate from the visible side.
  6. I had some time to make some new parts finally. First the Holster. * Note the RED pegs are just placeholders and will have holes where they are for rivets. *
  7. I also found those 3D models on Thingiverse and it's partially what got me to start this project. I was hoping to make something that was printable as well as being good enough for Lancer approval. It also allows me to scale the armor for smaller and larger people.
  8. Chest from the front and inside. This is going to have to take a little bit of sanding to smooth down the sharpness on the front are that sticks out, but ultimately the whole thing is going to be sanded and filled to get rid of the printing ridges before painting.
  9. I think I see what you're saying here. The top part with the curve needs to be angled down towards the back The part against the thigh). The edges need to be rounded off a little bit as well as a slight shortening of the overall length. If you know of anywhere that I can find better reference photos of the top of the boxes that would help. This is always a really odd angle to see in photos.
  10. Front of the chest almost done, still needs a little work.
  11. I've been working on making models of the Scout armor pieces for 3D printing. This originally started as a project so that our smaller and larger Scouts could have something that was scalable to better fit their sizes. It's quite a process for me to learn how to use the software to make these models, but I think it's coming along fairly well so far. I'm trying to get as close to the screen used armor as I can, but obviously nothing is going to be perfect. Not sure how long all this will take, but I'm plugging away at at.
  12. Congrats. Another SoCal Lancer is always an awesome thing.
  13. Thanks everyone, this forum has been indispensable for the last 9 months of building and taking my first steps into the 501st.
  14. Superb. Thank you all very much. This made my day.
  15. These aren't the greatest pictures (I was in a hurry), but they give a better indication of how it looks with my belt up higher. That's about as high as it can go without the bund showing below.
  16. Haha, not a problem. I am definitely not one of those folks who wants to wear their pants too low, these pants especially are all the way up otherwise the riding patches and crotch strap don't fit correctly. I'll take another pic tonight with the belt in the higher location to make sure the bund isn't visible and more in line with where it should be. Thanks for the helpful criticism. I'm very new to all of this and just want to make sure I get it right from the beginning.
  17. The belt is sitting on the tops of my hips but i could probably bring it up about an inch (maybe 2) or so before the bund becomes visible from underneath. When the pouches got shortened there was more room beneath them. Obviously I'm a pretty slim guy so sizes become a bit weird to convert. You adjust one thing and then it effects several other things as you'd imagine. I do have some wiggle room with the belt though.
  18. I went ahead and made a new vest and pants. I wasn't very happy with the previous vest anyway. The new pants are less baggy and have a slightly larger riding patch (even though it's probably not noticeable. The vest is more even and just all around made to fit better. The pouches have been shortened by 1 inch but the rest of the measurements remain the same. I also moved the bicep armor up a little more than an inch and inward a little less than an inch. The insides of the bicep armor now touch the chest armor when my arms are at my sides. As for the Blaster, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. It's a Hyperfirm blaster just like many other people so it's going to be a certain size and make. I'm not sure I know a good way to adjust it since it's foam rubber, but if it needs to be done, I'll have to figure something out. If you have a little more detail about what needs to be done I might get my head around it better. Thanks.
  19. Thanks for the info. It's very helpful. I was worried about the vest sleeve length. I noticed it before. They are actually the same length but I think my shoulders may sit a bit unevenly causing the issue. that shouldn't be too difficult to shorten though. I'll take a look at the other issues and see how I can adjust/modify things so they are correct. I'll make some fixes and repost some new pics afterwards.
  20. Requesting Lancer Status This has been a long and interesting road.
  21. Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a try and also take a look at the chest/back piece. I have plenty of fabric left from the pouches if I need to go hat route.
