  1. These aren't the greatest pictures (I was in a hurry), but they give a better indication of how it looks with my belt up higher. That's about as high as it can go without the bund showing below.
  2. Haha, not a problem. I am definitely not one of those folks who wants to wear their pants too low, these pants especially are all the way up otherwise the riding patches and crotch strap don't fit correctly. I'll take another pic tonight with the belt in the higher location to make sure the bund isn't visible and more in line with where it should be. Thanks for the helpful criticism. I'm very new to all of this and just want to make sure I get it right from the beginning.
  3. The belt is sitting on the tops of my hips but i could probably bring it up about an inch (maybe 2) or so before the bund becomes visible from underneath. When the pouches got shortened there was more room beneath them. Obviously I'm a pretty slim guy so sizes become a bit weird to convert. You adjust one thing and then it effects several other things as you'd imagine. I do have some wiggle room with the belt though.
  4. I went ahead and made a new vest and pants. I wasn't very happy with the previous vest anyway. The new pants are less baggy and have a slightly larger riding patch (even though it's probably not noticeable. The vest is more even and just all around made to fit better. The pouches have been shortened by 1 inch but the rest of the measurements remain the same. I also moved the bicep armor up a little more than an inch and inward a little less than an inch. The insides of the bicep armor now touch the chest armor when my arms are at my sides. As for the Blaster, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. It's a Hyperfirm blaster just like many other people so it's going to be a certain size and make. I'm not sure I know a good way to adjust it since it's foam rubber, but if it needs to be done, I'll have to figure something out. If you have a little more detail about what needs to be done I might get my head around it better. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the info. It's very helpful. I was worried about the vest sleeve length. I noticed it before. They are actually the same length but I think my shoulders may sit a bit unevenly causing the issue. that shouldn't be too difficult to shorten though. I'll take a look at the other issues and see how I can adjust/modify things so they are correct. I'll make some fixes and repost some new pics afterwards.
  6. Requesting Lancer Status This has been a long and interesting road.
  7. Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a try and also take a look at the chest/back piece. I have plenty of fabric left from the pouches if I need to go hat route.
  8. The "elastic" between the back and chest is actually cotton fabric webbing tape. Yea, the diagonal marks on the bund are from a sewing mistake and not actually there, it's just the marks after removing the threads. I'm trying to figure out how to get the fabric to go back to normal so the holes are as visible. Hopefully without having to redo the bund, that would be a nightmare. Thanks
  9. Thanks for the comments. Those are easy fixes. I made an ABS insert with 3 sides for each pouch, that way the side against my chest can curve naturally and it only fills out the 3 sides that point outwards. It's light and comes out easily.
  10. Let me know what you guys think. I'm trying for Lancer, so details matter. I know the bund needs to come up just a tad. Nevermind the chicken legs.
  11. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to give that a try and see how it goes for me. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks. That order seems to be what I was expecting. The vest really is the most difficult part to get the velcro to line up without a little help. I'm sure the more I get suited up the more I'll figure out some tricks to it. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  13. Two questions. What order do most people put on their armor (sort and hard)? Do other scouts usually help each other suit up with certain parts of their armor when trooping? While building and putting things together I've noticed that some parts are very difficult if not almost impossible to put on and strap down without help. Maybe I'm doing things incorrectly but I've had to get help from my SO for armor straps and back velcro.
  14. For Lancer does the T strap that connects the chest/back armor to the shoulder bell need to be cotton webbing (instead of elastic), and if so, what size? I'm having trouble finding any images or real info.
  15. It's part of my black stickers right below the rank marks for the tank. The bin seems to be a super easy way to handle this. Thanks.
  16. I noticed that the SC armor I received had rank stripes (?) for the boot holster. I'm not sure what to do with these. I know where they should go but I haven't noticed any other scouts using them. Any thoughts?
  17. That's mighty clever. I'll have to take come measurements of my helmet and see how much space I have to work with to make something like this work. Thanks for the great suggestion and pics. Pictures are always very useful.
  18. Using the bolts or the inside with velcro were the routes I was thinking about. I may try filing the back down just slightly but as you mentioned it might leave too much gap. Ultimately it's not the end of the world if the visor doesn't stay up as long as I can get the helmet on and off easily which I can.
  19. I have an Altmann helmet but the visor does not swing up very far and won't stay open. While this isn't a huge problem since I can still get the helmet on my head with ease, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a way to modify the helmet to get it to open correctly. Also, how do you attach the chin straps to the Altmann? I noticed that other helmets have slots along the inside "sideburn" where the straps feed through. My helmet is too thin in this area to have any slots. Do I just attach it on the inside of the helmet and call it a day? * ignore the unpainted bolts. The fist and second photos show the "sideburn" and how far the visor will open before it gets too tight. I'd rather not push any further and break something. The third photo shows where it's rubbing along the top when it's open all the way.
  20. Can't wait.
  21. I can't wait to start my build. This tutorial is spectacular and full of great mods.
  22. I'm just starting out and I'm getting SC armor. This looks amazingly fun to build.
  23. This was really helpful. I'm just starting out and I'm trying to read as much as I can before putting things together.
  24. Thank you. I did check out that link before as well as a few other threads about helmet sizes, that's what led me to the realization that my head is a bit too long for the SC helmet. I even checked the SC site which gives their helmet dimensions along with what others have shared.
