I always viewed the TD as a sort of satchel charge that a Pathfinder could set as part of their sneakiness. BADA-BOOM and no rebel scum knows we were there....ahhhh the Pathfinder way:)

So I'm confused here a bit. The Lancer standard that I am working to here: http://forum.bikersc...showtopic=12081 indicates the following: 13. Shoulder armour should be secured around bicep with a 35mm ( 1 3/8") black elastic, similar to a TK. Does that mean that this is going to need to be replaced with a 0.5" elastic strap and add a zip tie or is this something that is only if you want to? Not trying to be malicious here I'm just confused with these changes to the shoulder armor and unsure of what to do as I'm going to be submitting for Lancer as soon as my new bund arrives.

I asked about the neck seal with the armourers and command staff and it's acceptable to wear as long as it's underneath your mandarin collar and you are wearing your balaclava as for me in the deserts of New Mexico that's a no-go. If you haven't had the chance head over to the gallery and take a look at the MoM exhibit pictures those are interesting as well.

Welcome to the BS.N forest Chris! That's great you had the opportunity to see the troopers at AwesomeCon. You've come to the right place as this is the place for all things Pathfinder. I would encourage you to contact your local garrison which for you would be the Garrison Tyranus at www.garrisontyranus.com . There you can meet local troopers who can assist you in becoming a member of the 501st Pathfinders. Research is the best place to start and this place is chock full of great information and there is much to learn. We're a close knit community here and we love doing what we do and the Pathfinder armor. You're not alone my friend. If you have a question post up and there are a host of folks who will be here to answer. I know I felt that way when I started and I couldn't have done it without these fine folks here. That's what we're all about. Not sure if you're plugged in to the Florida Garrison but if you haven't had the chance I would encourage you to get onto to their forum and introduce yourself. There is also a new program that started by the Command Staff this year called the Advanced Recon Teams (ART). Each garrison is allotted one and that group exists to foster the Pathfinder armor and help get behind those working on a build to make it the best it can be. That's another resource available to you as well.

His other tank was in the shop that's a loner tank. I also love the magical rotating TD greeblie on the screen shots.

Listen to the Armourer......go with SC they are top notch and their customer service can't be beat. You can find threads for the cummerbund and pistol on the trade forum.

Hi Florian. Whichever helmet you go with you'll have to make sure the faceplate opens to get your glasses on. I have a KS and an Altmann's and I can't put on my glasses then try to put my lid on over my head. The scout buckets just don't have the clearance the Stormtrooper buckets do. I've seen other Scouts wearing glasses in the SC bucket too so I think you'll be fine with most of the helmet selections. Just make sure the faceplate opens so you can get your specs on. Hope that helps.

Sounds like your GML needs to shake the trees and get that TKID# to fall out. Congrats Brian!

Interesting point. What were the screen used kids made of? From the pics it looks like ABS. It would seen to me that the finish comes down to the time and attention to detail you put into a lid. I'm reworking a KS lid and I've learned that a good finish comes from a lot of wet sanding, priming, wet sanding, repeat...until you achieve the finish. I'll bet that level of effort wasn't out into the screen lids. I mean look how they assembled the tanks! They slapped them together and shot them with paint and got them on the set.

Bleh...that's a no go in this heat. I'll just wear my balaclava thank you.

Where is that approval? Did your GML take the month off to go snow skiing in the Alps or something? I want to see that TKID#

SC makes a good lid. I got an Altmann's and I really like it. Might want to check out Spike's thread on the sales forum.

Outstanding work! The boots are a greatest to ease into,the build and you're doing all the right things. Make sure you give the toes a good stretch three times or so. That way they will go on nice and smooth. When you get ready to glue have a couple of tongue depressors/popsicle sticks at the ready to help spread the glue out to all the corners. Keep up the great work!

Can you provide some pictures? The best way is to start a Photobucket account and then you can post up pics here. It helps if we can see what you're asking about. That's why we start build threads. It gives the experienced Scouts a way to input into our builds. If it's the rectangular greeblie (and I'm guessing here) it may just be the best to leave it as is. You could try a thin bladed screwdriver to try and pry it up but if you notice it starting to damage the greeblie or the TD box then I would stop and just leave it as is. There is no hard requirement for that particular greeblie to be pointing up or down. If you plan on going Lancer at some point it is required for that particular greeble to have the two small rectangles pointing up. If you need another greeble I do have a spare that I can send you just let me know.

Some sew the bund and cod together and and some use Velcro to attach the cod to the bottom of the bund or even the vest. Strider put together a real nice tutorial here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=15433
