  1. That is a nice stretch on the boots and they look great. Just take your cuts a little at a time. Cut and fit check, cut and fit check, etc. That way you can be comfortable cutting and make the armor fit you.
  2. Nice work Mark it's looking great! Those liners look really comfortable in your lid. You'll be able to fine tune the drop boxes once you get suited up. They should be around 3.8 to 5 cm from your belt but that all comes with the final adjustments once you have it all together. Looking forward to seeing your pre-approval thread.
  3. No problem and that's what were here for. Folks like Mickey and Shaun have been riding the Scout Bike for a long time and have tons of experience as to what does and doesn't work so they are worth listening to. There is a wealth of info here and tons to learn and these are the folks that will point you in the right direction. I started in the Armory moving from one part of the armor to another learning as I went along and then asked a lot of questions before I pulled the trigger on one part or another. I have to say that I'm the Scout I am because of these folks here. So grab yourself a cold beverage, comfy chair and a bowl of popcorn and start looking through this place and you'll be amazed at how much you'll learn. Keep asking the questions!
  4. Welcome to the BS.N forest Ken. You can read more about KriptonTop here on this thread: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=13107. There was just a name change. You'll need five more posts to access the trade forum so I would head out into the forum and take a look through the armory and get a feel of what other scouts are using. If you have a question post it up and there will be someone to help you. Welcome aboard!
  5. That's a great question Randy. In the front they point upwards towards the belt and they are reversed on the back i.e. point away from the belt. I did one continuous strap and just looped it through the connectors. You can either loop them or sew them it just depends how you want it to work. Here's a pic:
  6. For me it's that band where my bund and vest overlap under the chest armor. I have to say I almost wish they didn't add the vest to the ROTJ scouts.
  7. Nice looking Ewok stompers! Great job!
  8. No problem Wayne and you're right it's not a full up DLT-19 but it does look similar. I think I found the thread you might want to take a look at. This is from Hyraxe over in the UKG. I think this is the blaster you are looking for... http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=15288
  9. Looks like the family pooch is also looking forward to the build:) Time to kick off your build thread!
  10. I have some extra 1.5" white cotton webbing that I can give you just shoot me a PM. I picked up a pair of Texas Steer boots from Kmart and I did the sole cuts using an X-Acto set. This thread might help you: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=14701.
  11. LW lids are extremely rare because they are no longer produced. If they ever do come up for sale they never last more than a few minutes on the Trade Forum.
  12. Hi Andrew. I'm 5'8" and I wear an Altmann's. You can see how it looks on my pre-approval thread (http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=15276) if you want to see the whole package together. It's a top notch lid. You might want to also look into the Chef lid too. So many lid choices for us Pathfinders!
  13. I believe that is just a DLT-19 with a scope. I think Hyperfirm makes a version of that and you can probably check out pics of it on their FB page. Here's a page from Side Show that has pics of the rifle from the 1/6 Scout: http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/sideshow/evg/scout-trooper-Sideshow-Collectibles-sixth-scale.html I think it's awesome that you're going to take on such an epic build and I look forward to seeing it.
  14. Maybe PM Spike and see if has extra decals just in case something gets buggered up. Shipping would probably be faster and a bit cheaper as well. Another option might be to create a template and paint the traps. Just a thought brother
  15. Congrats Lori! There was a patch run earlier this year but I believe that it's closed. A suggestion would be to get your profile updated with your 501st info and then head over to the 501st access thread here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showforum=82 and put in your request. That way you'll have access to those areas including the merch.
  16. I would stick with a large. When they come in you can gently remove the lining and then wear your cotton gloves underneath. I think if you go two sizes larger it might start to look a bit too long in your fingers.
  17. I would say remove them, trim off the lines and re-apply them to the lid and see what it looks like. When you look at the screen caps there isn't any black border on the traps the gray goes out to the edge. I'll bet that trimming them will work. You can then shoot a pic and send it to the Lancer committee and see if that will be acceptable.
  18. The defense rests your honor.......
  19. That was my concern too. The typical Rubies is much worse that that looked in the photo and there is no consistency to them. I don't think that's how it's going to look when it arrives.
  20. Hi Jennifer. The Rubies helmet would require major modifications to make it 501st approved. You can source a much better helmet from SC or an Altmann's from the Trade Forum. Those have good heritage and a lot of the scouts here wear them. You can find a lot of great information on helmets over in the scout armory under helmets.
  21. E6000 is the glue of choice for most. It's very forgiving and allows you to readjust parts if needed due to the longer cure time. Might also want to add some clamps as well to hold the parts while gluing.
  22. I would think that the only way to make the disappointment known is to just to let go of the lid and ask for a refund. After reading all the posts to this thread over the months you can be darn sure I won't be going to RS for anything armor related ever. Most companies don't get it until they get hit in the pocketbook. I would think that if this was a local vendor they would go on the "BSN Issues" thread and be banned from selling on the forum until this issue was fixed. This type of service (or total lack thereof), my fellow Pathfinders, is simply unacceptable.
  23. I feel you Brother! When I first did the Scout I thought "this doesn't have as much armor as a TK and it'll be cooler especially here in the desert.." Wow was I wrong. Flight suit, then vest, then bund, then armor...yeah it's not that much cooler. I can't even imagine what a Vader goes through.
  24. I'm moving to another detachment...... Check please!
  25. I like that you kept the cuts shallow. I wish I had kept that in mind when I did my boots. Nice work!
