That stinks! I'm glad you went with Max and I can reassure you that it will be right or he'll fix it. I love my flight suit and vest he made for me. Thanks for sharing that bit of painful education for the new upcoming scouts.

Looking good Patrick! I noticed your drop boxes didn't have the buckles though. Was that just a fitment check? How it feel to put on the armor ?

That's an interesting idea but your kit won't pass with those additions as it wouldn't meet CRL requirements. Here's an idea though that might work. Order an extra shoulder bell from SC and put the medic sigil on it but do not put the sigil on your tank. You can switch out the bells depending on the event and on what your command staff says is ok. There are some allowances for non-canon events but you'll want to check with your garrison CO and/or GML and make sure they ok it before you wear it.

I'm shedding a tear under my bucket for you bro (seriously)! I am so proud of you and honored to call you brother. Congrats on an achievement well earned! -
Awesome! It's a great place to start. You'll need a total of five posts to access the trade forums so keep asking questions.

Welcome to the BS.N forest Zach! The best place to start is over in the Armory forums where you'll learn about all the parts that make up the Scout. I would also like to encourage you to check out your local garrison (www.ga501st.com) and sign up for the forum there as well. You'll be able to contact local 501st members who will also be able to help you on your journey to becoming a trooper. There are a host of folks here as well to help answer questions so head out and start learning and if you have a question post it up we're here to help!

The Aren't You A Little Sort For A...Biker Scout (WIP)
Retrofire replied to StoutScout's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
For me they hold the TD tight and keep it centered on the back of the belt without having to fuss with adjusting it. My belt clips really aren't tight enough to keep the TD from moving about when I'm trooping. -

Nice work Nick! You will appreciate being able to put the TD on separately and it helps to cinch up your belt without fighting the TD. Looks great and I can't wait to see your pre-approval pics! -
Measuring for Elastic and Side Closures
Retrofire replied to Jobee's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I made that mistake on my top 0.5" strap then I had to remove the rivets and do it again. Recommend that you fit check before you rivet or cut the elastic to size. -

Advance Recon Team (ART) discussion
Retrofire replied to BikerScout007's topic in Advance Recon Teams
There's only four in the Dewback Ridge Garrison ART and that's including me. Just find a couple that are interested and start one up brother. Take the first step and the rest will follow Wanted to share the DRG ART Patch that our team leader John (AnasaziActual) put together: Pathfinders out front!! -
Congrats Pathfinder!!! Great to see you in uniform!

Check out the reference pictures thread for some more visuals. The season three trailer provided some good reference and we're awaiting the start of the season to hopefully see the biker scouts become a recurring part. It's about time! I would agree that it does look like a UA type undersuit but we'll need to have some full front on pics to start to narrow down what it is exactly. Now we just need to see who's going to take a shot at producing the armor.

The Aren't You A Little Sort For A...Biker Scout (WIP)
Retrofire replied to StoutScout's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
I went with 1.5" webbing for my front and back armor which is acceptable. You could always drop by Jo-Anns and pick up some similar size white elastic. I think the SC provided elastic is 2". -

Good eye. I accounted for that in the draft CRL. The red decal on the tank looks kind of like the Medic decal from the Special Ops Medic. -
I had to clean up the thread a bit to keep it organized. You should see it in the first post now.
-
Hey Jeremy....the CRL is started. I guess you have to make one now
-
Good point Daniel. Thread updated and cleaned up.

Front on shot. -
I'm drafting one Jeremy using Word. Makes it easier to transfer over the the forum for discussion. I don't like writing long documents using the forum as the editor is too small. I'll have it done tomorrow evening and up for draft review. It's going to be basic to say the least but I figure we have to start somewhere.

No need for apologies Jake. It's an awesome thing to get suited up and take a look at your work! You're looking good and here are a few things I see. 1.) You're right on the vest sleeves they are a bit too long you want them just past the shoulder bells about 0.5" to 1" 2.) The bund is over the back armor so you need to tighten up that bund a bit more and make sure the armor lays over the bund but the elastic you mentioned might help that. Take a deep breath and PULL 3.) If you can bring the pouches up against the chest armor and over towards to center a bit but not over the 5-6 ribs of the front of your bund. The pouches should sit between the belt and chest armor. These look a little too big. 4.) The thigh boxes need to be leveled a bit so they are about equal front and back. Looks like the are sloping a bit towards the front. You've already addressed the TD and cleaned up the pouches and that's great. You have a great start and just need a little adjusting and tweaking to get the fitment right. Remember too that you'll have a flight suit under all of this which is going to bulk you out a bit so keep that in mind when you're measuring and fitting your armor. Makes a difference when you suit up with bund and vest. Keep it up and post more pictures!
