I used CA to set the initial wrap then came back with a drop of plastic epoxy to hold it tight. Make sure you make an allowance for the TD end caps. Do a test fit with the cable and caps before committing. Keep in mind that wrapped TDs can be heavy so you'll want to beef up the clips holding it to your belt. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Chopper is on point with his comments. You can use buckram or the foam he mentioned as a stiffener for that location. The bund does look a bit too long. Ideally it should go from just above your belt to no higher than the straps holding your front and back armor. For instance my bund height is around 9-10 inches. The other thing I noticed is that it looks like you have 6 ribs rather than the 5 the CRL indicates. Before I replaced my bund for Lancer I ended up cutting a slit in the bottom portion of my cod and slipping in a piece of ABS cut to shape. It helped to keep the “cod crunchies†from happening. I just used an exacto knife to make the cut. Most of the bunds made today have foam built into that area when it’s sewn to keep it rigid but comfortable.

It’s not the standard ROTJ Scout glove. I’ll check the CRL trail we had going and get back to you. You can post questions in the Armoury as this armor is now active. Hi Cam! I’m trooping the SC as well and I really like it. You can find what you need with regards to where to apply them via the CRL on the Legion site. I went with a Texas Steer boot from Kmart when I started. Kmart's are shrinking in numbers but they are still around so it might be worth checking their website for one in your area. First and foremost they need to be comfortable for a day of trooping so keep that in mind when you shop. As you already mentioned they also need to have a single color tan sole per the CRL. I like my Texas Steer's they are comfortable and cost me around $20. They were easy to modify and handled the Shoo-Goo adhesive very well.

Yep. Armor, softgoods, boots, helmet, weapons, swag bag, and a few bottles of standby water just in case.

That will work but if you want something a tad thinner you can go with the husky 35in mobile job box from HD (#222167). Fits my whole kit and is easy to transport. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

To seven you listen....easier to take off it is than put back on. Looking forward to seeing that lid progress and get on your head. Take your time and work methodically. A little extra time on the front end will save you a lot of frustration and make a better end product.

In the Star Wars Costumes book there’s a blurb about Nilo Rodis-Jamero and George talking about a test fitting of the full costume. They both said something is missing on the back and it’s believed that this where the scout TD came from. Nilo said “if it’s there you won’t notice it, but if it isn’t you’ll noticeâ€. I also noticed something interesting for you folks following Solo. If you look at the illustration by Nilo on the top right hand side on page 189 you’ll see a picture of what looks like a spot on match for the trooper riding the hover bike in the trailer. The main difference in the solo version is the lid but the rest looks darn close. Looks like LFL pawed through some of the earlier concepts to make this new one. I can’t recommend this book enough. It has been a fascinating read into how these amazing designers and costumers build the costumes we love so much.

I believe that these are more akin to a satchel charge than a grenade. Like the charges Solo planted in the Endor bunker. In the book “Choices of One†by Zahn the Stormtrooper LaRone uses his thermal det to breach a wall to help Govenor Ferrouz escape an attack. Grenades and detonators are great for getting the Rebels attention but if you really want to do some wholesale rearranging you pull out the TD. The Shores are pretty talented with grenades look what they did to that shuttle on Scarif. They probably didn’t use their TD since it would have smoked the whole landing facility.

That’s awesome! I was 8 when I saw ANH in the theatre and have been hooked ever since. When you’re ready to go Lancer let us know there are a host of folks that will be happy to help you.

You're looking really good! I don't see anything major at all. Some of the minor items you might want to address are pulling your flight suit tight at your legs once you get your knees and boots on. I added elastic stirrups to my flight suit legs to help with this. Your thigh boxes look a touch too low and you might want to raise them. Should be about an inch from your belt. In your left side photo it looks like your balaclava isn't up enough and I can see a splash of white under your chin. Not sure if this is the chin cup or not. All those are minor fitment issues and I don't see any reason you couldn't sail through basic approval. Excellent job!

Did you try looking at ski goggles as well? That might open up more in the search results. Another idea might be to use a motorcycle visor. I got one for my son’s Scout build and dremeled out a visor shape to fit in his lid.

Check out Happy Trooper on You Tube. He does a DLT19 from parts you can get at home improvement stores. Put a nice scope on it and you got a nice sniper for less than a third of a purchased one. He's also got several other mods and builds that might work for you too. Worth a look.
