CasualYT1300's Mando Remnant Scout Build
Retrofire replied to CasualYT1300's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" WIP
Welcome to the build club Chris! Looks like you got a really good set for your base. Remember to take it slow and keep the measure twice, cut once mantra. Keep a copy of the CRL handy and remember we're here for you should you need anything. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Scout-Trooper-The-Mandalorian -
Really good progress Edwin! You're in good hands with Chopper! If you haven't had the chance I would recommend reaching out to your local Garrison to touch base with your GML. Since you're in the Bay Area that would be the Golden Gate Garrison: http://www.501stggg.com/

I used a couple of Don Jarr greeblies on my earlier build and while they are high quality they are resin cast so they can be a little brittle. I've had an SC topper for 5 years now and haven't had any issue with it. Walt is very good about taking care of his customers so you shouldn't have any issues getting that piece from him but if not I'd get an SC topper.

Hallo Funky, Das haben sie auf ihrer Website gepostet. “Alle internationalen Versandanfragen können per E-Mail an Info@uniforms4all.com oder Sie können für einen Kostenvoranschlag anrufen.” Hoffe, dass dies hilft

Folks also use various hardhat suspensions as well. That’s what I have in my bucket.

I need to finish sanding and painting the helmet doughnut.

I hear you guys. I got a stalled Endor Commando that’s been sitting idle for months.

You’ll want to cover that whole inside seam from back to front. If you slop some higher onto the Mohawk then that’s ok since after everything dries you’ll be cutting it off anyway. Take a look at the first pic in this post.

Jwnikita Boot grooves WIP (aiming for Lancer)

You’re “in the groove” on your grooves Jill! Those look just fine. -
Using my ex-GML eye I don’t see any show stoppers at all. I’d say you’re good to submit that rascal for basic. Great work Joe!

Hi Pedro. Yes. It looks to me that the top and sides could use a little more trimming. @Chopperdo you agree?

That’s going to look amazing Phil. Take your time and feel free to post up pics of your progress if you need anything. We’re always here for you.

The most important thing is that you cannot see any skin when wearing the flight suit, balaclava and helmet.

Dennis gave you some good advice with the flight suit. I sewed stirrups into the legs to help keep them tight. Suiting order should go flight suit, knees, then boots. Once you get your knees on the you can pull the excess down and smooth everything before you start your vest, bund and belt. Regarding your mud flap we’d have to see a pic of you dressed in full sunlight to gauge that length but for basic it looks just fine. When you execute your submission photos you’ll want to be against a contrasting background with good lighting and take a front, back, right side, and left side photo. Make sure you tag up with your Garrison GML to make sure what photos they want. Once you get those photos taken we’d be happy to give you a once over before you submit if you like just let us know. Great work!

Looking really good Gareth! You’re correct in that you will need to paint not only your chest indent but don’t forget your drop box indents as well. On a minor dressing note make sure your forearms are on top of your gauntlets and not in them. Might want to weather your drop box straps a little as they look shiny and new contrasted against your great weathering on your armour. Looking at your back picture I noticed that you have strapping around the TD tube. Is this a tweak that you mentioned in your post. This isn’t on the CRL model so I thought I’d ask. Always good to use the CRL as your checklist to make sure you’ve addressed everything. Really well done! https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Scout-Trooper-The-Mandalorian -
That’s a good pair of boots right there. I wear a Chef vest that I got when I first joined in 2016 and it’s still in amazing condition. A couple of things to keep in mind when you get ready to install your holster on those boots. First, depending on the overall length you may have to trim some excess off of the top and bottom so if you want post up a pic of the holster and let us take a look at it and we can give you some guidance on that. Second, when you assemble your armor use the 3mm (1/8” US) rivets and you shouldn’t go wrong. Oh and did your seamstress remove those pockets on your flight suit I mentioned in my earlier post? That’s a requirement for basic approval so you’ll want to get that addressed. This is coming along famously! Keep up the great work!

Hi Pedro. I talked with the team and you shouldn’t have any issues if you keep the spacing between 2.5 and 3.0 cm for the vest sleeves. Hope that helps and keep asking those great questions!

Congratulations Lancer!

Not too shabby for your first suit man you should be proud! Once you get your boots and knees on pull down on your flight suit and smooth it into your boots. Sometimes what happens is that the knees cause some bunching to occur right above the armor. A lot of scouts use velcro to keep the armor in place so if your biceps aren’t tight enough they’ll slide down. I think you’re just about there man. Once you get everything fixed shoot us some front, back, and side pics so we can look you over again before you submit if you like.

The cod is looking good nice work there and on your riding patches and thigh straps. One thing I’m noticing is that your belt weathering is looking a little on the heavy side. Remember that less is more with the weathering you don’t have to add too much to get that well worn Scout look.😉

Hi Andreas! From the picture I would agree that there is a bit of bulking going on there. I don’t think that would be an issue for your basic approval and it’s something that you can remedy later. I think you’ll have to tailor that area and take the material in. You’re looking good and I wish you the best of luck with your submission!
