  1. This is looking great Manoah! Keep it up and you’ll be submitting before you know it!
  2. It is that time of year again… Elections! As Imperial Citizens and Pathfinders, it is your duty to vote! Links will be updated as they become available. Elections Information All information about the elections can be found in the Legion Operations Protocol. This includes how the election is run, timeframes, and qualifications and limitations to run for a position. Operations Protocol: Section 3 Elections Who can vote? For Elections, all Active Members may vote and run for a position if they meet the standards in the Legion Charter and the Operations Protocol (review the Qualifications and Limitations). Reserve and Retired members are NOT able to vote or run for a position. NOTE: With COVID-19 impacting trooping in 2020 there might be some of you that missed the census and have gone into Reserve status. If this has occurred you will not be able to vote in the 2021 elections. I would recommend that if is this your situation that you reach out to your GCO and work to get that resolved prior to elections opening. Also be sure to review your 501st profile (member db) and ensure that you show active for the Pathfinders (and any other detachment you are a member of) or you will not be able to vote for that Detachment's DL Time Frames Times in the Operations Protocol are listed in GMT. Please be aware of that, especially when voting. Nominations start the Monday before the first Saturday in February. (Monday, February 1 – Friday, February 5) Question-and-answer phase will be open for 5 days beginning on Saturday and concluding at 11:59pm GMT on Wednesday. (Saturday, February 6 – Wednesday, February 10). Thursday is reserved for candidates' closing statements. (Thursday, February 11) Voting will open at 12:01am GMT on the Friday following closing statements and be available for 5 days, ending at 11:59pm GMT on the following Tuesday. (Friday, February 12 – Tuesday, February 16) Positions being voted on Active 501st members may vote for the Legion Commanding Officer, Garrison Commanding Officer, Squad Leader (only Squad Members), and Detachment Leaders (for detachments you belong too – see information below). Legion Commanding Officer (LCO) – Currently held by Ingeli Hedberg. This position oversees the Legion as a whole. Garrison Commanding Officer (GCO) – This position oversees the Garrison as a whole and has a seat on Legion Council. Squad Leader (SL) – This position oversees the Garrison Squads and reports to the Garrison Commanding Officer. Only members of the Squad can vote on this position. Detachment Leaders (DL) – Currently held by Mickey Bukowski (Bikerscout007). Every member should belong to the detachment that oversees their active costume(s). If the member shows Active with their Detachment in the Membership Database, they can vote for the Detachment Leader. Q&A Period If multiple people are running for the same seat, there will be a Q&A period where members can ask questions that will then be answered by those that are running. This is for all positions. For LCO – This will be on the Legion Forums (https://www.501st.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=168) These are normally moderated by the Legion Captain of the Guard. For GCO & SL (if applicable) – This will take place on your Garrison forums For DL – This will be here within the detachment forum for active Pathfinders only. As the Det CoG the role of moderator falls to me. It is time for nominations and to vote – now what? Nominations: Members may nominate active and qualifying members on the voting webpage. Once a member is nominated, they will require another member to second them. The option to second someone will appear below the nomination box. The member that was nominated/seconded then has the option to accept, decline, or do nothing. If the members are accepts, they are in the running for the position. It is possible to have no nominations for a position. If this happens, the previous person will continue on by default. As a common courtesy, please speak to a member before you nominate or second them to verify if they want to run for the position. Voting: The Legion uses a Single Transferable Vote (STV) method for voting. Every eligible voter, in respect of each respective candidate, may cast a single vote that is ranked from their most preferred to their least preferred candidate. The candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated and each vote given to that candidate is transferred to other remaining candidates according to the respective eligible voter's states ranked preferences, in proportion to any surplus or discarded votes. The process is repeated by calculation to arrive at a winner that holds more than half of the votes thus cast.
  3. Mickey's probably going to sic the ISB on me for knowing Rebel costumes😄
  4. Looking at those "extra bund parts" makes think they have nothing to do with the bund. You mentioned that he got an orange flight suit too so that makes me think those are pilot gators for a rebel pilot. The gators I made for my Endor Commando look exactly like those pieces. Both the A and Y-wing costumes use that type and color of gators.
  5. The best way we’ve found is by using Tapatalk. You can snap a photo on your device and then just drop it into the forum post. On the main forum most folks use a hosting service like imgur. You can get tapatalk for free at either the Google Play or Apple stores.
  6. I used a standard sewing machine with a heavy duty denim needle.
  7. Happy New Year to all my Pathfinder family. Thanks Mickey for emphasizing the positives. This det has been a bright spot during this time with everyone banding together to help each other. I wish everyone a healthy and happy 2021!
  8. That’s good to hear. Yes. The pouch material will work just fine. Just want to hit that 6x5x2 measurement.
  9. While not the most desirable B-grade can be approvable if you’re willing to put the time in to bring it to Lancer standards. I can see the conflict within you young Sky.... sorry where was I? I can see that crossroad before you Cat and it’s something you want to give some serious thought to. You’re talking about a whole new flight suit and a different bund assembly altogether. If it’s something that you are thinking of post some pics of your armor that @Chopper and I can take a look at. Chopper is an ROTJ armor expert and he can give you the straight skinny on whether the armor is Lancer approvable. You can take it from there and decide which route you’d like to go. Either way we’re here to help you so we’ll support you whichever route you choose.
  10. Yeah the Mando Scout doesn’t use the zip tie method that’s an ROTJ application. TKZombie did a nice treatment of this in her build showing the type of snaps she used with a length of nylon webbing. You’ll find it about halfway down on page 2.
  11. TD looks great and thank you for cleaning that excessive adhesive up around the shoulder bridges. Those look good too! Looking forward to seeing you get the bund and pouches back. If you have any questions about them or what's required there don't hesitate to reach out to me or @Chopper and we'll be happy to help. Remember what Chopper says "for the bund, cod, and pouches, Level 1 of the CRL only calls for "white fabric" for the bund and cod. However, Level 2 calls for smooth white cotton fabric. Polished cotton or mercerized cotton is preferred, but at a minimum, smooth white cotton fabric. Your pouches should be made of white canvas-type material (e.g., duck cloth)."
  12. Happy holidays JIll! Nice work on the decals and visor. Those are looking much better!
  13. Hi Ethan and Happy Holidays! I think @BikerScout007 has addressed your question in another thread. I would also recommend reaching out to Scouts in the Canadian Garrison to see what they are using. We're always here if you should need so don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have further questions.
  14. Congrats Lancer! Nicely Done!
  15. @ferra @Jakeputt Can you help guide this Kashyyyk on the cummerbund build? Thanks!
  16. Good luck with your submission Ty! As a note your tank is riding really low so you may need to trim a little of the bridge straps to raise it up and it'll help align the back and chest armor as in the CRL photo. You've done great work and looking forward to hearing good news!
  17. HI Saray! The Patrol Trooper HQ has some good examples. Here's an interior done by @Patrol85 @Hask @MrPoopie do you have some suggestions on how to help make the bucket fit more comfortably?
  18. We’re here if you need us so don’t hesitate to shout out if you need anything.
  19. Cat now that I’ve slept on it I’m wondering if the tabs are fine but instead of sewing them vertically to the bund, a la ROTJ Scout, you fold them over. Without the tab I’m concerned that the pouches won’t sit right on the bund if sewn directly to it. @Zeronin how are your pouches sewn onto your bund? Can you provide a picture for Cat? Zeronin was the CRL model for this costume. Here’s his build thread:
  20. Spot on Jill. Let that cure completely then reassemble it. Nice work!
  21. Hi Cat and what a great set of questions! Ok so one thing to keep in mind is that although some of build techniques are based on the ROTJ not all of them are applicable to the Mando scout. For example take a look at the pics of the model and the cummerbund. You’ll notice that there are no tabs used on the pouches which allows for you to place them higher on the bund. The ROTJ uses a 2” measurement for the tab so it’s going to look off on the mando. You nailed the pouch size so keep that but drop the tabs. Regarding the bund height the 8” measurement is based on the distance between the belt and the bottom of the chest armor. While this may work for some body types it doesn’t work for all of them. I would recommend taking that measurement again and seeing what it is for you. That’s the measurement you’ll want to use for your bund height.
  22. That’s the bridge strap. It’s a 1” piece of cotton that wraps around the shoulder bridges to cover the connections between the chest and back armor. The shoulder bells are held with zip ties to underneath the bridge strap. Check out the armor in this video by our Detachment Leader showing all the armor pieces. The rivet is just about in the middle of the tank bottom. Dennis gave you a great reference photo of the MoTM exhibit. When you get to that part of your build you can pencil in a mark and have us take a look at it if that will be helpful to you.
  23. Thank you Jill. You’re doing great!
  24. Hi Jill. I think that color will work fine and since it has a primer as part of it I'm not sure you'll need an additional primer there so you can save some $$. @Chopper do you agree?
  25. Boots are looking great Jill. You can cross that off the list. Oh no! I thought you were using the Gunship Grey? I think the battleship grey is a bit too dark. When you repaint it you may need to reprime it with a lighter color then shoot it with the Gunship to lighten it a bit. You’re making great progress and just about there!
