  1. Welcome to the Pathfinders Detachment! Bikerscout007 is an expert on the armor so you're in great hands. You're going in the right direction as we always encourage new folks to visit their local garrison to get access to their forums as they will be the ones that will ultimately approve you into the Legion. I've added a couple of links below for the Austrian Garrison to help you on your way. We're here to help you be successful so please keep those questions coming and let us know how we can be of assistance! https://www.501st.com/members/garrisonroster.php?garrisonId=62 http://www.501st-austria.com/
  2. Good find Joshua. The E-11 is pretty much the standard blaster rifle of the Empire and it’s not surprising that we see some scouts carrying it. I’ve trooped with an E-11 more than a few times in my scout and as long as your GML doesn’t have an issue there’s no problem if you would also like to carry one.
  3. All, I’ve pulled the schedule of events from Rhaethe on the 501st Forum for this years election process. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=287&t=109674 The schedule of the 2022 election is below, and is the schedule that Legion and Unit General Elections should be following. Unit CO/GCO will want to have their forums set up prior to this and heed the same schedule. Please note that times are in GMT. This bears repeating ... time/date are in GMT. You will need an online converter to properly reflect your own time zone. This is a decent one: https://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/ Nominations Start: Jan 31st @ 12:01AM GMT End: Feb 4th @ 11.59pm GMT Q & A's Start: Feb 5th @ 12.01am GMT Ends: Feb 9th @ 11.59pm GMT Closing Statements: Start: Feb 10th @ 12.01am GMT Ends: Feb 10th @ 11.59pm GMT Voting Start: Feb 11th @ 12.01am GMT Ends: Feb 15th @ 11.59pm GMT Elected Positions take Office: Feb 21st @ 12:01AM GMT
  4. These are the same rules that the Legion has defined for the LCO Election. I am posting it here for clarification and transparency. I want to personally encourage members being involved in the election process for the LCO, your GCO, and DL (if applicable). Rules for the 2022 DL Candidates Question Thread Not knowing these rules will not be considered an excuse for breaking them. 1. Duplicated questions, even if using different phrasing/words, will be moved. 2. There is a thread for single questions and a thread for multiple / essay questions. Posts will be moved accordingly if posted in the wrong thread. 3. Flames, baits, and passive-aggressive, leading questions designed to embarrass, humiliate, or otherwise maneuver a candidate into a corner may be moderated. There is a locked thread that duplicated questions will be moved to. This thread is in complete view to all within the Elections Forum. Read all questions before you pose yours. Use courtesy and limit your questions, keeping them brief so that all members may participate. Candidates are encouraged to read ALL three question threads to answer questions from. It is entirely up to the Candidates whether to answer all, some, or even none of the questions posed from either thread. Harassing or baiting/flaming a candidate for not answering a question is not permitted. Non-answer is an answer of itself that members may make of it as they choose. If a Candidate's answer is not pleasing, then goading, baiting, or badgering into an argument is not permitted. Take the answer, make your personal judgement from it, and move on.
  5. Detachment Election Information Should a Q&A be needed for the Detachment Elections, I will create one per Legion rules and notify the detachment members of it’s location. NOTE: You must have an affiliation with the detachment listed in your 501st member profile in order to vote in that detachments elections! We cannot check on your 501st profile so if you have questions you need to reach out to your Garrison GML or other member of command. The LMO locks down the membership database before the elections start allowing no changes so please make sure you verify this sooner than later. 501st Elections Thread: https://www.501st.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=287 General Election Information Legion Elections are in approximately two weeks. Soon, every member of the 501st will have the opportunity to exercise their Imperial right to choose their leaders, at both the local and the global level. All nominations and voting will occur in the 501st Legion Elections portal here: https://www.501st.com/elections/ Q&A for LCO will take place on the Legion Forums. Unit CO/DL Q&A will take place on their respective Unit forums. Please go to the 501st elections link above to read the guidance material available in the 2022 Elections section of Legion Forums. The rules and guidelines documented in that forum apply to all Legion Elections, from LCO to all individual units, and ignorance them will not be considered an excuse when dealing with reported issues. - Timeline and Location - Rules and Reminders - Elections - Social Media and Harassment - Q&A Thread Rules and Reminders - PINs, Voting Method and FAQs When in doubt, please email the Election Moderation Team at elections@501st.com For issues relating to access to the Legion forums, please email support@501st.com
  6. Ahhh nothing like a hot beverage, a sewing machine and a flight suit! If you need anything we’re here for you.
  7. Hi Miko, If applicable the differences between level 1 and 2 are shown in the CRL for that costume. The level 2 requirements are indicated as Optional and are typically in blue with the basic requirements (level 1) in black font. Take a look through the ROTJ Biker Scout CRL here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper We recommend that folks work towards level 1 first and not try for Lancer directly. The response for this is to minimize frustration and keeping the fun and enjoyment in the process. Check out this post here for some more reasons. We’re here to help you be successful no matter what you decide so please feel free to post up any questions you might have.
  8. This is coming along great Arne! On the straps you’re going to want those snug against your thigh. Not too tight or too loose.
  9. You can check the 501st forums but I don't know of any remnant loops. I don't know if there was enough chatter to really make one but I haven't seen the Mandalorian so I'm not sure.
  10. Hi Michael! These are all great questions. We are in the process of updating several CRLs but it is a slow process as we have to work not only internally with the armory team but also with the 501st Legion Membership Office (LMO) to update the CRLs. We maintain a majority of the screenshots here on the forum that you can access as needed as we are limited to what we can add into the CRLs. The build threads here also are a great resource to find all sorts of those close up shots working with the armorers. The format of the CRLs are maintained by the Legion so we keep all those close up and personal shots here in the forum within the various armories for all to access. Look for these updates and more as we move into 2022.
  11. Félicitations éclaireur! Make sure you update your 501st profile and post up in the access thread here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/162-access-requests/
  12. Happy holidays and a most happy new year to our Det family! Looking forward to seeing what the future holds in 2022!
  13. If you're using an acrylic then you should be ok since the scratched surface seems to be "roughed-up" which would give the paint something to grip onto. Keep your airbrushed layers thin and build it up in successive layers. Typically we wouldn't be recommending acrylic on top of a lacquer finish but here we're trying to mask the scratch and acrylics are easily removable if something were to get honked up.
  14. Dude this is awesome of you to do. Thanks so much!
  15. Hey Dennis this is great can you get a shot of the inside of the amice so we can see the seam lines? That would help in working out a pattern of how the bib would attach to the seal. Thanks for posting this!
  16. Fellow modeler here. I use both acrylic and enamel base paints when I paint and weather. I would get a neutral piece of scrap plastic, like a spoon mentioned by Chopper, and I would do a color test of different types of paint. Testors gloss white may be a good stand in for the automotive white but keep in mind when you airbrush it you’ll have to thin it with an enamel based thinner. You can also “decant” some of that automotive white you used into a jar and let it sit for awhile to allow the propellants to offgas then use that as your base in your airbrush. Again, it’s really important to use a thinner that’s compatible with that type of paint or it can really harm more than help. Measure twice cut once also applies to painting, especially a nice bucket like that, so take your time and check your chemicals before shooting it. Also mask off the area really well to protect from overspray.
  17. Outstanding work one and all! Another CRL to join the Pathfinders. Thank you to our LMO member for helping to make to go live! I hope you get well soon Rikki and thank you Kris for your support.
  18. Did someone say....Lancer? I think that's great and please check out both of the threads that the DL mentioned. You got some excellent resources and a host of talented folks here that are happy and willing to help you in any way we can.
  19. Dennis gave some sound advice so the best place to start would be to measure where your chin is, sans strap, with your bucket on. If it’s coming in below the bottom edge then see if you can adjust your helmet to sit further down on your head. Recommend not sitting the top of the helmet directly on the top of your head as that will get awfully uncomfortable over a long troop. I can say that after being accidentally “bonked” on the head a few times that you don’t want it sitting right on your skull.🤕 Looking at the pics it does seem as if your cup is a little oversized but because where it sits is based on where your chin sits the place to start is with that measurement. As Dennis mentioned it is optional so if you don’t like it you can do without.
  20. Hey that’s all the stuff that makes a pretty good set of armor that much better. Keep up the great work! Let us know if your need any help with the rigging there’s some top shelf Shoretrooper armorers here about that would be happy to help should you need.
  21. So great to see this moving along! Make sure you leave yourself some slack in the strapping for fitment once you get your armor. You’re going to have multiple layers to contend with so don’t short yourself. Keep up the great work and give us a shout of your need anything we’re here to help you be successful!
  22. Congrats Pathfinder! Welcome to the 501st!
  23. It’s all good Mike and Dennis is right that if it is a bit tight you can always modify them to be a bit more comfy.
  24. That's great to hear MIke. Did you order a size up on the Wampa's? They run a little small so we recommend you go a size up to be comfortable.
