We are going to update the Lancer specs to include the specific rivet size for L2 because we know that's caused some confusion. However, the 1/8 rivets are used in the CRL photos and a CRL is text and images. Sometimes the text can't convey everything and that's where the pictures come in. Frankly it was never put in because it was never an issue until recently. Suddenly folks started using bigger rivets despite all the advice on the forum. So sometimes the CRL needs to catch up to where people are headed and steer them down the right path. Thanks for your understanding!

I think it looks very good! You may have gone beyond "medium-to-heavy" to just plain "heavy" in spots but overall nicely done. Maybe back down some of the heavier bits. Also, your TD tube needs to be weathered. Its a little on the light side.

I think the weathering itself looks pretty good, I just wonder if the shade of the paint you're using is a little dark. I would try maybe hitting some of that acrylic with some rubbing alcohol to mute it a little bit so it blends better into the armor instead of sitting on top of it? If that makes sense. That's what I did with my Shoretrooper -- I would hit the crevices with acrylic paint and then blend it in with an alcohol soaked paper towel I like the build up on the knees, looking close to the SDCC scout for sure.

I would consider it "medium to heavy". I think yours is fine. Get it in the daylight with some photos and I'm sure it will look like what we've seen on the show. Folks, our CRLs are only in comparison to themselves. What you've all read in other Detachments doesn't apply here. "Light weathering" is what we call ROTJ Biker Scout weathering. A few mists with the black rattle can here or there. The Patrol Trooper also has "light weathering" -- some dirt here or there but overall still pretty white. The Shoretrooper would be in the medium range. The Mando Scout would fall under medium to heavy. The dirt is heavily built up in the crevices (just look at the knees and cummerbund) and the armor is almost totally discolored. Look how the Mando Scout looks almost completely tea-stained in comparison to the Stormtrooper to his right.

That's not light. That is definitely medium to heavy. The amount of weathering you have to do on a set of armor in order to get it to show up on camera is substantial. Ask anyone who has weathered a Shoretrooper, and saw their first picture of themselves in it only to realize that they look like an action figure fresh out of the box. Light weathering would be what you see on a typical Biker Scout in ROTJ. It's in a few spots, blink and you miss it. The weathering on the Mando scout fills every crease and completely discolors the armor itself so that the white is almost gone. Here's a picture of the armor without all the lighting and color correction from the show: If someone tried to pass an ROTJ Scout like that we would reject it for being too heavy.

It's hard to tell. But something at that level of accuracy would only be Level 2. And we don't roll out L2 right away on new CRLs. We give them some time to breathe first.

Do you know what the deal is with that black dot in the center of the white button?

I'm willing to put the "missing cover" bit if we can confirm without a doubt. But even so, seems like it would be a Level 2 detail. If a white button passes at a glance, that's probably good for L1. And again let me just note my amusement at the level of accuracy demanded for this costume Too bad the producers didn't put that much thought into it

Right now it reads: A silver plate is attached to the lower right portion of the bag flap. Mounted on the plate are 3 push button greeblies: The two outer buttons have red covers The center button is white.

Here's a good pic: I would say there the white button looks to be about the same size as the red ones.

I ordered it from the UK on eBay. Set me back about $25. The things we do for accuracy....

Ah that's a shame! I think it was the first time many of us had used Google Meetups so there were more than a few technical issues. Hopefully you all can join us for the next one.

Chin cup time! I painted it black and then switched out the original strap with 1/2 inch black elastic. Since I kept the liner inside my Anovos bucket, I just needed to sew some Velcro onto the ends of the elastic to secure it to the bucket.

The M plates I had to get separately. PM me and I will send to you. The trigger guard was wrong but has been corrected.

The problem with the SDCC scout is that we don't know what was done to it to get it ready for display. Or what state it was in when they got it from the production. We had similar issues with the many Shoretrooper armors that were on display after Rogue One -- they had little odds and ends that were different than what we saw on screen. At the end of the day, what we see on the screen is what we go by.

We can make the decal trim optional. The aerator looks black to me -- could just be the lighting.
