Tusken Raider turned Biker Scout
BikerScout007 replied to Cat's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" WIP
Modified Red Kap will be fine as long as it meets the requirements of the CRL. They used TIE jumpsuits on the show, so there are pockets and other visible adornments that would need to be added. As for the gloves, they usually go around $50-60 from most vendors. You may want to keep an eye out for anyone selling a used pair: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/155-trade-forum/ -
Welcome! I have bumped you up to 501st Access Our Patrol Trooper armorers, @Hask and @Ruthar both have knowledge of the Armory Shop kit. I'll tag them in this post.

That was my thought as well. Hard to say since it was a "blink and you miss it" exchange. -
Gloves Discussion and Findings
BikerScout007 replied to WilsonSith's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Soft Parts
I went back and watched this clip. It was on screen for about a second and a half. Not enough to justify a change to the CRL. For all we know it was a costume error or a quick fix. When we make CRLs, we go by what we believe is the costume maker's ideal version of the character. The part with the two scout troopers talking at the beginning of Chapter 7 shows the costume in its "hero" form, and that's what we go by when drafting a CRL. We don't pull out split second screen caps and go "AH HA! NEW VARIANT!" We would never be able to settle on a definitive CRL if we did that. -

And that's basically it. Just a Captain with a different paint scheme on the back and left forearm. I've submitted the CRL to the LMO for approval! Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk -
Hey Jens! Okay we've got a few things you need to address on your application. I've included photos to help you out! 1. Shin buckles are backwards -- get those turned around! 2. Helmet -- Missing the teeth in the right recess in the back 3. Clean up paint around two square cut outs on the upper back armor so they are apparent. The two holes in the top center should be squares. I've seen a picture of your armor where you can see the squares, so I'm not sure what happened here. If that's paint, then fix it so we can see the squares. 4. In that same picture above, there appears to be print lines on the greeblie in the right recess, above the 8 vents. You'll want to fill those in and repaint. 4. Tamp down weathering where it's too heavy. The CRL calls for "light weathering" -- but there are several spots on your armor where you've gone into medium and even heavy. The Patrol Trooper usually sees dirt build up in the crevices of the armor, not so much all around like a Shoretrooper. 5. You have a crack in the left fork of your collar piece that needs to be fixed. 6. Shoulder straps need light weathering. 7. Chest straps need to feed through the buckle: 7. And overall, we need to see some better pics where your biceps are even on both sides and your shoulder straps and resting properly against your armor. Thanks for your application and good luck!

He's already a Lancer, Ranger and Armorer! I think we ran out of things to give him.

Hip armor attachment question
BikerScout007 replied to Thrawndike Bar's topic in Shoretrooper Armor/Helmet
Happy to help! I split my MP fauld in the front because I didn't want to step into it and pull it on like a skirt. Thought it would be easier to attach like a belt. But your mileage may vary! -

Welcome to the Pathfinders forum, Phil! The Kashyyyk doesn't have a large amount of vendors, but the ones we are aware of can be found here: @ferra and @Jakeputt may have some more guidance for you!

Depends on the print of course, but I used a variety of things. Of course sanding, but I'm pretty lazy so I used a mouse sander instead of doing it by hand I've used XTC 3D to fill lines, and either DAP Plastic Wood-X or plain old Bondo to fill holes. And of course Rustoleum Gray Filler Primer does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to removing print lines! Looking to get a bigger printer one day so I can do these bigger pieces in one go instead of in pieces! -

BikerScout007's Shoretrooper Officer Build!

I have made a few upgrades to my Ender 3 Pro -- new motherboard, new extruder, new bed springs and upgrade to Capricorn tubing. I'd say of those 4, the Capricorn tubing is the most important, because the high temperatures needed to print PETG wreak havoc on the bog standard Bowden tube Creality includes. In fact I just had to change the one on my CR-6 SE because the tube had pretty much melted from printing PETG. Settings are a little trickier because they really go by the filament more than anything else. Every time I get a new brand of filament I print a temperature tower to see what temp it best prints at. I've been using this brand called Duramic that I discovered on Amazon when the brand I usually buy (eSun) was out of stock. It was really finnicky but once I got it dialed in it prints like butter! Very smooth prints. I print that at 240 hot end and 85 bed. I also bought a Creality enclosure because I was having issues with prints curling up at the bottom as they cooled down. I use Cura 4.7 to slice. I always use tree supports when supports are needed and I print with a brim. Sometimes I will print with a raft when the object is really tall and thin. I hope that helps, if you have any specific questions just ask and I'll do my best to answer. I've only been doing this since May so I am still a novice. -
Thanks for your application! We'll review and get back to you shortly!

BikerScout007's Shoretrooper Officer Build!

The other piece I need to swap is the back armor. So i printed and assembled a new piece, then painted with Sahara Beige. The back box needs to be painted Ford Nordic Blue. First I used Maskol to create the paint chips you see in the game. Then taped off the parts of the armor that stay beige. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk -
Welcome to the Pathfinders forum, Shawn! We have a lot of great Shoretrooper Captain WIPs in the forum (including mine... cough cough!) I put links for mine and Joe's, just because we were the two most recent Shoretroopers to obtain Vanguard status. Good luck on your build!

Awesome, you have been upgraded to full Pathfinder status! And I just noticed we have the same birthday.

Well done Caleb! What is your CB-ID? Unfortunately, the racing shirt run ended 10 days ago. But there's always next year

Mountain Trooper New Weapon?
BikerScout007 replied to Phoenix12000's topic in Mountain Trooper Weapons
Well just remember we called the EC-17 the "Holdout blaster" for decades until LFL finally gave it a name a few years ago. -
Mountain Trooper New Weapon?
BikerScout007 replied to Phoenix12000's topic in Mountain Trooper Weapons
So now all we need is someone (ahem, @MrPoopie), to print this, paint and weather and then photograph so we can add it to the CRL. As much as I would love to call this the E-11P, I think for purposes of the CRL we would have to call it "Mountain Trooper blaster" until we get a canon name from LFL. -
