  1. No worries buddy. I think we've all hit a point where we want to take all this plastic and chuck it out a window. But it's just plastic and it's all workable. We're here to help!
  2. Definitely a little rough and misshapen. Thinking about recycling it into new filament!
  3. Still grinding out parts! Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
  4. We are limited in what we can put in a Level 1 CRL. the Legion frowns upon exact measurements and the ones that are in there now have been there for years and are grandfathered in. The 1/8 rivet thing is all over the various build threads here and has been such a norm that it's never been an issue until recently. For some reason, there's been this movement toward using larger rivets despite all our advice to use 1/8th. A larger rivet will not effect basic approval, but will hold up an app from Level 2. There are pictures of the rivets used in the CRL and that's what we expect for anyone going for L2. But because there's been this sudden use of larger rivets, we are currently working on revising the CRL to add "1/8th rivets" to the Level 2 CRL requirements. Sometimes we can't predict what builders are going to do and the CRL needs to catch up. This is one of those times.
  5. Thanks y'all! I really tried to document all my trials and travails with this costume in my build thread and Vanguard app so that I could hopefully answer questions that new builders have as they go through the process. We don't get as much Shoretrooper traffic on this site as I would like (a lot of it gets taken up by Facebook), but we have some great build threads here and I hope anyone considering this costume takes advantage of the info we've put together. Thanks especially to @TK8271 Rogue Trooper, @ScaryGuy and @KOtrooper for guiding me through this process. You guys have been great teachers and I still am learning about this costume every day. And I'd also like to throw out a bone to @mr paul too. He's not 501st, but I'd be hard pressed to find anyone that loves this costume more than he does. We may not always agree on the same way to get there, but we're all going in the same direction -- to the beach! Ugh! So dumb on my part. When I got my Bone Buddrus belt boxes I was like "these things are too heavy! I'm going to stick with my KW ABS boxes" and I never took a second look at the belt requirements. Glad that was all I missed. It's a little underwhelming but you can see it on my profile now. It basically looks like I have two L2 badges but it's only one graphic. I had to come up with a solution when @Ruthar got Lancer and CHiPs. The profile only allows for one badge in that slot, so I just took both graphics and stacked them on top of each other.
  6. Smart thinking. Here's a build thread you should check out:

  8. I think the CR-10 is going to ensure that anyway!
  9. Yes if only you would stop thwarting me by misnaming the files!
  10. That is correct. We won't consider a Lancer application here at the Detachment until the Trooper is already approved.
  11. That looks great man. And the cat also seems to approve!
  12. Got them! Just gotta get them set up Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
  13. Oh looks like I used the wrong box huh? Okay I'll get on it!
  14. Welcome to the forum, I've bumped you up to 501st status. Make sure to check out the Lancer applications to get an idea of what you are in for! http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/51-lancer-deployment-request/
  15. That looks about right to me. These dropbox straps on the show seems to have a bit more slack in them than the ROTJ Scout.
  16. Cool! Just remember, there's really no such thing as "off-the-rack" in this business. You may find that after receiving it, certain modifications have to be made so that it best fits you and your armor! It's part of the job, and we've all been there.
  17. Yep!
  18. Yeah they are on that list I sent you They used to only be reliable with gloves but they have changed up their flight suit to make it more accurate. And their boots are also much improved.
