  1. Have to second Dennis. They knew what they were doing when they designed the Scout bucket for ROTJ - it has some great circulation and most of us do not use fans.
  2. Okay you should be in good hands then. Sean's files have been used to make many a Shoretrooper for this Detachment!
  3. Welcome to the Pathfinders forum!
  4. I use mine as-is. I've found it kind of helps that they can "float" a bit, even though they are held in place by the t-straps.
  5. You hit the allocation limit for your account. Most of us host images on a photo hosting site (imgur, dropbox, flickr etc) and then hotlink. If you're just posting a few images, I'd advise sizing them down first. They don't need to be high-rez to be included in a post As for the real transistors -- it's like everything else -- as long as it looks correct from the outside, it doesn't matter.
  6. Right now, the blasters are not part of the CRL -- the live action Treadspeeder driver didn't carry one and we don't have a CRL for the CGI version yet.
  7. What? Again?? On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to induct Mike "MikeRadness" Foglia (ST-26300) into the Pathfinders Hall of Fame as a Vanguard Shoretrooper for the "ST - Shoretrooper Squad Leader - Niamos - Andor" CRL! This is Mike's THIRD time receiving a Vanguard certificate, as he also has one for the Rogue One Grunt and the Rogue One Squad Leader! Great job, @MIkeRadness! You have been sent a Certificate of Achievement to your email on file and your picture has been added to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. Check out ST-26300's application here: AND FINALLY... It is my pleasure to announce that Mike is joining the Detachment as the newest member of the Shoretrooper Armor team! As a Pathfinder with THREE Vanguards, there is just no way we couldn't extend Mike an invitation, and we are glad he decided to join up.
  8. @MrPoopie -- what did you guys did for @JollyRajR's pants? Those boots look pretty good to me for L1. Check ebay too. Used pairs of the originals show up all the time.
  9. Studio Creations has been used in 501st approvals for well over a decade. You're fine there. CB -- I'm assuming you mean Cucblack? That should be fine as well. Just remember though, when buying assembled kits, some fine-tuning may be needed to make sure they fit you properly for approval Good luck, and please check the ROTJ armory for more info https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/3-the-rotj-biker-scout-armory/
  10. I definitely follow the "if it can't be seen, it doesn't need to be represented" school of thought, but I also have no say in approvals. Since it's an Optional Accessory not required for approval, I'd advise most folks not to submit with one. But if you're in a Garrison that needs all your pieces cleared, definitely check with your GML first
  11. Here's a big reason; it would prevent that trooper from going to Level 2: OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Scope eyepiece has stepped circular grooves like the original. Scope has no actual lens. No decals representing cross hairs or similar.
  12. Yeah I have to agree those look WAY took dark. I have always had my doubts about the intensity of the off-white pouch color, as most of the evidence for it seems to derive from pictures of the Scout costume taken several years after the production (like the MOTM Scout) Here is a pic from the film:
  13. @MrPoopie has done designs for the riot baton and the shield. As long as the pauldron matches the CRL you're fine!
  14. It's a video game, man, I wouldn't think too hard about it. Personally, given how difficult it is to turn your head in the PT (due to the helmet sitting so low), I'd think wearing a pauldron would be pretty uncomfortable. That doesn't mean people won't do it! They love their pauldrons for some reason
  15. We've added the accessories from "Jedi:Survivor" to the Patrol Trooper CRL. This video has all the details!
  16. Welcome Tyler! We've got a great team of @KOtrooper and @Minimo that will help guide you on your journey. Be sure to post up any questions you have in this thread. Here is my Captain build to the extent it helps
  17. If your straps are white, the pouches stay white Canvas or duck cloth -- that stuff is usually pretty cheap and is much more robust than the cotton used for the bund. If you use that for the pouches, they may come out a bit shapeless.
  18. Okay a couple of things: I think your stitch on the bund closure looks just fine. Looks cleaner than mine lol The reason why we don't specify fabrics for the vest is because we don't know them. The "Costumes" book was very clear about some soft goods, but not all of them. We only get specific when we know for sure. We can look at something and say "yeah, that's twill or that's a smooth, non-textured fabric" but we don't call for exact material when we don't know. Remember the vest in the CRL is still fan-made at the end of the day, so it was just as much a guess as anything else. Look at production photos in the Scoutopedia if you want things to look at: https://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php Yes, the vest doesn't need padding, just the sleeves so the ribbing stand out!
  19. The Shadow Scout belongs to the SpecOps Detachment. You would have to ask them over there. https://specops501st.com/
  20. First of all, "they" is us. We offered up all the resources we had available to help Walt make a new ARMOR kit. But that's only the armor. The helmet is a different issue. Walt has said he has access to the Lone Wolf helmet. If he starts making those, he will be fine. I have no idea if he has or hasn't. If someone has one of the new helmets or kits, we haven't seen them here yet. Lucky for you though, there are plenty of other vendors out there that have kits where the approvability is not a big question mark. Such as Studio Creations, MonCal, RS Props, etc.
  21. Everything being discussed here is an Optional Accessory, as it would only apply to Jedi Survivor and not Solo
  22. The cummerbund and codpiece were made from polished white cotton in the film, which gave it its shine in some lights. In the CRL for the Level 2 requirements, we state: Polished cotton or mercerized cotton is preferred. Canvas or duck cloth is not permitted. A smooth cotton fabric with a sheen is what many of us go for. Sometimes a cotton/poly blend can give you the same effect.
  23. So... no takers on the shield? If so, I'm just going to proceed with adding the other bits.
  24. Mr P's boots can be seen pretty well here:
