SC would be a better kit for you, and just about anyone unless they are well over 6 feet tall. KS has very....large proportions. But their lids are good and I prefer them to SC's. There should be plenty of room in there for a mic although I don't know about getting a speaker in their too. Most of us keep the speaker in a pouch

Welcome to 501st Pathfinders! SC is a great kit. I have one myself!

Seems to be the same grenade used over and over in the film. Doesn't seem particular to the Shoretrooper

Looks really good man! I have nothing to add to what is posted above. Get that thing buttoned up and apply for Lancer! -
imperial boots.com Shoretrooper Boots
BikerScout007 replied to Mynock's topic in Shoretrooper Soft Parts
They're fine but the originals are a much better option and although we don't have a level 2 CRL set for the Shoretrooper at this time, it's very likely the Orca Bays will be the requirement for that (provided they are still readily available) -

I moved your post to the Soft Armor section. There are a lot of threads here that can help you. This one, for instance: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=16558

Don't sew the side pockets shut! Once you have everything on you can't see them and that's where I keep my wallet and keys when I'm on a troop!

Have a look at the gallery http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?app=gallery&album=137 We don't have many pics of the front of the boots because there aren't many good ones to choose from. Remember when a shoe is shown off for sale or display, it is typically displayed from the side, not the front. And for Lancer apps we aren't that strict about the front boot cuts. Don't overthink it.

Cutting soles of boots questions

Don't overthink it bud, it looks beautiful. When we evaluate for Lancer we don't measure the cuts hahaha. We just look to see they are there -
Cheaper Helmet Vendors??
BikerScout007 replied to PropReplicator2's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Dont know of a cheap HIPS helmet. Your best bet is probably to buy a KS ABS kit. those are under $200. Either that or keep your eye on the trade forum and see if someone is selling one -
Hey Andy! Judging by your avatar I assume you are building a Shoretrooper. There is currently no Level 2 for the Shore, that will happen sometime in the next year as we compile more and more information about it. At the Pathfinders Detachment, we traditionally only have 2 levels. There just hasn't been the need for a Level 3 at this time.

Anyone making a one-piece belt?
BikerScout007 replied to batninja's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Actually everyone does EXCEPT SC. The problem is that SC is the easiest armor to get so most people have it. But as Peter said, you can just fill in the gap to give the appearance of a one piece and that is fine for Lancer -
Checking in from Southern California!
BikerScout007 replied to NekronStaghorn's topic in Getting Started
Hey Sean! I am in Southern California as well. Welcome to 501st Pathfinders. If you are on the Facebook, we have a local Pathfinder group that can help you. Look up "Scout Team Six" and request to join -
Those will do nicely!

Yup that is the Red Kap suit we all have! To Stasz you will listen! Do not cut yourself.
-
If you can make it resemble the on-screen suit -- mandarin collar, suede patches, and no visible separation between top and bottom, I don't see why not. But if the material made the suit look "odd" (and a lot of this is just objective judgment) then it may not pass basic. It's really up to the GML

Usually folks just do a basic "tooth-space-tooth-space-tooth-space" etc pattern when they cut the fronts. And that's fine, you'll get Lancer with that. But if you want to go for extra credit and really copy the originals. The pattern is more like "tooth-space-two teeth-space-two teeth-space-tooth" etc. Here's a pair of Sierras where you can see the pattern:
