Sorry! I didn't mean to imply it was the same holster, just that the right boot had a holster at one time because you can see the holes. We have no idea why this was done or why they chose to display this Scout costume when they have others that presumably have the holster still on the right. -

The placement of the gray rectangle should have answered that question for you That's the scout from the Costumes book. For some reason his holster is on the wrong boot. Judging by the holes in the right boot where a holster used to be, it probably fell out and was moved to the other side for display -

I just need a pic of the front and back and I will be happy to! -
Hey y'all! Since I've been sitting home sick this Memorial Day weekend, I decided to throw together some comparison pics of the various armors versus the Scout in the Costumes book to see how they measure up. I tried to get Lancer app photos where I could, so it would be the best representation of the armor, and only used pics where the armor was one maker from head to toe. If anyone has a better representation photo, I am happy to use it. I will also do back photos when I get one for each So here we go, in alphabetical order: Altmann (Spike - Australia) Chef (U.K.) Gino's (not for sale) Kropserkel (KS) (Canada) (the dropboxes were modified to be shorter than they are out of the box) Moncal (MC) (USA) RS Props (UK) RWA Creations Studio Creations (old version) (SC) (USA) Studio Creations ver. 2 Armor (SC) (USA) CFO/Strider (Germany) Walt's Trooper Factory (WTF) (USA)

I can't see why not. A lot of costumes allow faux leather. Including the Scout. We allow faux suede for the thigh patches and the boots are made from vinyl even though the screen ones were leather. For Basic, appearance is more important than material

I did run mine into the pouch for awhile. Just put a tiny hole in the back of the pouch for the wire to run through. Then I ran the wire under my vest and balaclava. The mic is just held on by your ear and that has always worked fine. Recently though I just haven't been wearing it. I dont like the way the speaker makes my pouch sag and I dont talk much when I am trooping anyway. Might find a way to put it behind the chest armor instead

Most of us just use a very thin pig suede. You should be able to find some on eBay. in the US, many of us buy from Tandy Leather. Sewing the buttflap isn't a big deal, just run a stitch along the top of it. I positioned it right below the waist seam of my Red Kap suit. The thigh patches are a little trickier as you have to split open the leg on the opposite side before sewing the suede patch on. The good thing about this though is that you can then take in the leg a bit if it is too baggy. For the thigh strap, we use 2 inch black elastic. It gets sewn under the edge of the thigh patch, loops around the outside of the leg, and then sewn back down under the other edge of the patch. The thigh strap should pull tight against the leg and not hang down (like on a pilot costume). Adjustments to pre-owned armor
BikerScout007 replied to TK-41015's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
If it's slightly bigger it should be relatively easy to size down. It becomes harder if things are too small. The armor is highly adjustable because it's mostly all held on with elastic straps. A cummerbund or vest that is too small though would be difficult to make bigger while still maintaining the proper look. But if it's too big, it should be simpler to remedy. -
Your drop boxes are too low. They should only be an inch or two below the belt. Pull your belt up to meet the bottom of your pouches. Turn your arm armor more forward. In other words, try to make yourself look as much like this as possible: http://databank.501st.com/databank/File:TB_bikerscout_full.jpg

Not that I know of. but the SC kit contains some pretty detailed instructions right out of the box!
-
I wouldn't do it. SC helmets are very small in comparison to other lids. It may fit but the overall appearance of your scout may look like you have a shrunken head

Cuts look good! The only issue I see here are the two-tone soles. -
FINALLY finished with all of my soft pieces...
BikerScout007 replied to TB-1599's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Yeah the vest sleeve length is perfect! -
I'm not sure you'd be able to find a pre-existing glove on the market close enough to the Scout glove to mod. We probably would have discovered it already! You may want to contact Wampa Wear or Sith Armory and see if they can do a special order for you. I'm assuming you are doing this for ethical reasons and not to save money?
-
The Scout is a very forgiving build! You can make it work
-
Like I said, it doesnt matter for 99.999% of the troops out there and there are plenty of times I troop with Vaders who are shorter than me. I just stoop down a little bit when taking pics with them

Hmm we may be talking about different things here. Disney/LFL has special high profile events that they literally cast for. If you are interested in participating in one you have to go to them to get put into their database. Height and weight are things they factor in and they would never allow a Scout who was the same height as a Vader. But you are talking probably .001% of all troops so it wouldn't affect most of us
