  1. Great! Just keep in mind that this CRL is not finalized yet. There may be some adjustments made before it "goes green" as we say.
  2. Hey Kashyyyks! The Armor Team is proud to present the long-awaited, top-to-bottom revision to the Kashyyyk CRL. And this time, we have added a Level 2 so that our Kashyyyks can reach the same level of achievement as our Lancers and Vanguards! Some of the things that were required in Level 1 have been moved to Level 2 due to changes in how the Legion wants us to draft CRLs. Example, specific measurements, paints and fabrics must be Level 2 details under their rules. So you may find that your Kashyyyk already meets the Level 2 standards. In keeping with the spirit of the films, the Kashyyyk Level 2 will be called "41st Elite". A section on the Pathfinder Hall of Fame will be created for members that reach this achievement. And yes -- patches and pins will follow once we have the numbers to justify the expense! So please take a look at the draft, which is currently under review by the LMOs. And if you have suggestions, we are all ears! The following costume components are present and appear as described below. Helmet Camo pattern to simulate on-screen troopers. 3. I do the elastic loop to hold my tank to the back of my armor. It's not an SC kit but that method should work and it is screen accurate. When I am out on troops the tank slides around all over and people try to fix it for me. And I'm like "Don't! Have you seen the movie? Those tanks were all over the place!"
  4. Thanks for your application, Cody! The Level 2 review team will review and get back to you
  5. That is a 10-4. Not only do i own the RS, but it fits my big head just fine. CFO is a similar size.
  6. Based on all the ball caps I've worn, I'd say I have an average sized head. I'm looking at the CFO/Lonewolf You'll be fine
  7. Yeah but I'm not sure it's necessary unless you have a REALLY large head, in which case, you'd probably know that by now! My cranium is on the large size and I'd say the only helmet I'd steer clear from is Studio Creations. What buckets were you looking at?
  8. Here's the little secret about the Scout that some people have a hard time accepting: It's really a soft costume, so the most important thing is getting that right. The armor parts that we do have are all held by straps that are very forgiving for a wide variety of body types. I think people make the mistake of thinking that they need "BIG" armor. The scout armor is small. The chest piece in particular. i think most makers make them too big. The thing should fit like a bra, and stop at your pectorals. If it's going halfway down your torso, it's never going to look right. Easiest kit and most forgiving right out of the box is probably Studio Creations. But check out those links I showed you and shop around.
  9. Well out of all of those, the only one we can help you with (with any level of expertise) is the Biker Scout. And if that's your choice (which I highly recommend), then you want to start here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/91-biker-scout-hq/ And for a view of most of the popular armors, please look here: I hope this gives you a good place to start! Please feel free to ask any and all questions
  10. We can't wait to welcome you to the ranks!
  11. I think that's a great pattern! We are basically looking for something that resembles the screen used, but we understand that the Sierra Sneakers boot cut is not the easiest thing to replicate in regular old hiking boots. Also, check out @cheesewhoopy's boot tutorial: I think your pattern is really good though! I used a hot knife to cut my boots and it was like a knife through butter. Good luck!
  12. My personal preference is for the patch to end above the knee armor, but I know the Scout in the Costumes book has his slightly below the top of it. Yours is in the range of acceptability.
  13. The Pathfinders Detachment does not endorse any propmaker. The vendors listed below have created props that have been used in approved costumes. Whether any prop is right for you depends on how it all fits together, so do your research! Our Armor Team is here to help. Armor Walt's Trooper Factory 3D Print @MrPoopie's files. 14. Currently ArmoryShop is the only maker and they 3D print their kits. Other makers are working on this armor as well Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  15. The "10 foot rule" is a new one for me, but I'm not a GML. Like I said, if you are swapping out the fabric because of personal beliefs, please let us know when submitting for Lancer and we will take it into consideration. The most important thing is that it looks similar to what is on screen. So the cheapest faux suede out there is probably not going to do the trick. But I'm sure you know your way around fabrics judging by your sig, so I have no doubt you will pick something that looks appropriate.
  16. Post up some pics of that helmet!
  17. Okay bottom line: I've checked out this maker's FB page and folks are getting 501st approval with it. As it is the Garrisons that do the approvals, not the Detachments, then the answer to the OP's question is "YES, you can get approved with this kit." But the suspicious similarity to other maker's kits means I'm not going to be adding this to the Vendor list without some further information. Recasting is really frowned upon in the Legion and we don't want to promote it.
  18. Right.... which screams "recast"
  19. I thought MC had a better belt than that! And that TD.... Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah. and i hate those belt boxes. 😮
  21. Ah, thanks for including the maker's name. It's definitely not the most accurate set of armor I've seen, and the T-bit greeblies look off, but I see there are troopers who have already been approved with it. So you should be okay. I wish these new vendors would make themselves known to the Detachment!
  22. There's some odd proportions on some of those pieces. Looks like it may be a recast. We generally advise against buying armor on Ebay. There are many more reputable sellers to be found on our vendor list:
  23. I have to say, my boots from @4505Marcel have held up pretty well over these past 100 troops!
  24. Well done!
  25. I think an inch sounds about right!
