Spookys MLC v3 Helmet "build"
spookymufu replied to spookymufu's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Okay good news! the decal comes off pretty easily with a razor knife, just put the blade under the bar and lift then just peel it off. Now just need to reorder a new decal and reapply. -

i dont think so, its trooperbay's decals, i suppose they might be removed one at a time (if you can remove them with out damaging the helmet) but i doubt they could be reapplied. of course some one else who's worked with this type of rub-on decal would know better. from what I've read and seen, the barcode should start at the same level as the vents, is that wrong? I'm really only unhappy with the last 7 bars, that seems to be where it went wonky.... does anyone know if they can be removed and maybe get another set of JUST the barcode from trooperbay? -
Okay, been doing a little bit by little bit putting my helmet together so I thought I'd make my own thread. first thing I did was to put the chin strap in. I went to Joanns Fabrics and got some 1" black elastic band and some self adhesive industrial hold velcro. I bought 2" wide velcro and cut it in 1" strips and applied the velcro inside the helmet between the strap slots and then applied the other part of the velcro to the strap and then just velcroed the strap to the helmet After getting the chin cup/strap on I put on the trap decals... I'm happy with the traps, not horrible. Next I applied the barcode..........sigh I'm not too happy with them, I got them up too high....not sure theres anything I can do about it now though.

Okay, I have gotten to the point where I want to apply the barcode on the back but, I have no idea how to do it, any advice on how to apply the decal? It doesnt conform to the round area very well and I dont want it to be all crooked. I am using TrooperBay decals so it's the peel and rub on kind, I was planning on lining it up even with the rear trap and aligning the bottom with the vents on the opposite side, does that sound correct? Anywho, any advice on applying it is appreciated as always

yeah I meant the actual elastic strap width, I'll go with one inch since thats what the slots are cut to, found some at Joanns Fabrics for cheap. Since mine will be a display piece I dont have to worry about the comfort of it. The images of the screen used helmet shows what looks like about a 1" strap, I was just hoping to get some confirmation on that Thanks

no one?

What is the screen accurate thickness for the chin strap elastic? The slots on my helmet and chin cup are 1" so is that the size I need to be film accurate? Thanks

tee hee! Got my helmet and have been geeking out all day pouring over screen caps and the screen used helmet pics on this site, the MLC v3 is close, some small things but over all I'm really happy with it, cant wait to start working on it!

Okay, question for the MLC v3 owners out there..... I got my shipping notice on the 28th of Feb, up to that point my emails were answered fairly quickly, usually the next day, but now my emails go unanswered, I have requested a tracking number twice and havent got a response either time. I asked for a tracking number before I got the shipping notice and never received one. So my question is, is it normal to not get a tracking number and about how long does it take to get the bucket? I figured about 2 weeks or so (which it hasnt been yet) but the lack of a tracking number when this much money is involved makes me nervous.

okay, thanks

Hey kay_dee, I have ordered my MLC v3 and I got my shipping notice on the 28th of last month. I have requested the tracking number twice now and got no response at all, did you get a tracking number with yours and how long did it take to get it after your shipping notice? Did you order yours from MC or directly from MLC?

Need for new / concept helmets ???
spookymufu replied to TK280's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
if you have a quality product, accurate and willing to return emails then I'd say you'd be a step ahead -
I know some of us use Future floor polish to shine up our SideShow armor so it might work really good on a full size helmet
