Then for the suede leather you will be attaching to your flight suite, you will want to go to a tandy leather and get one of their $25 black suede shoulder pieces. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

Which off white fabric? For the soft parts, you want to use black duck canvas for flak vest, white or off white duck canvas for pouches then a sleeker looking cotton for the cummerbund. The cotton fabric i got for mine was about $7 a yard. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

Welcome to the pathfinders and its an honor to help one of the few and the proud. My love for our service men is what gave me my passion for the kashyyyk kit. As for what you need to get started, i can help you with that. To get all the hard plastic stuff there are two sources that i know of. That is through Bikerchick here on the forums or you can check out Daves Armory on Facebook. He also sells the kit. It will run you around 700 dollars. Then to put everthing together you will need E6000 some plastic clamps from walmart and one of those hard plastic for sale signs. You will also want some hefty utility scissors you will be trimming your armor with along with some bondo to seal some seems once you've connected pieces together and last but not least a dremmel. The under clothing are British DPM fatigues you will be making minor adjustments on for the kit and then you can get the kashyyyk gloves from wampawear.com and the kashyyyk boots from crowprops.com the kit isnt too bad. Just takes a little patience to get through everything. We are here for you every step of the way then you too can be one of the few kashyyyk troopers in thr world. There are less than 60 of us worldwide. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

One of the scariest things is dirtying up the almost $400 helmet. But then you do and think holy crap this is awesome!

I want to echo Chopper, the SC trimmed armor kit was my very first experience as a costumer, I found out how INCREDIBLY easy it was to put everything together I was also able to build it to Lancer standard. I also had the fear of "oh my gosh what if I screw things up, this kit is 700+ what if I screw it up! Ummm its a possibility but we are here to guide and direct you EVERY STEP of the way. All you gotta do is break it down into its individual parts and focus on them one at a time, just like everything else in life. I promise you will be fine. We ARE here for you. Ask as many questions as you would like. If you need to find me on Facebook to do a live chat with any questions you have feel free to do so. Look me up Jake Putnam. I live to help people get onto their bikes and ride with us through Endor. We are ALL here for you!

Yeah soft pigskin suede will be fine. I think sometimes they sell them for around $25.

Hiya James, its great to have you. I would love to help in any way possible. The message that 007 posted is a great start. The only discrepency i see is that Chris Hale doesnt make the pouches or cummerbund anymore. I made my own. Its a little work but its doable. A lot of people start out by getting their British DPM tops and bottoms. I picked mine up from amazon.com you can also just do a search online foe 'British DPM desert camo' there are also other used military clothing places out there that sells. You want to try to make sure you either get both top and bottom 100% cotton or both poly cotton. When you dye them with dark brown and a bit of black dye, its possible there will be some discoloration between the top and bottom. That happens. You want to try to get them as close as possible. I hear that if you can find 100% cotton in both the top and bottom it will come out perfect. But i wasnt able to find both 100% cotton. The places you can get the armor kit is from Daves Armory. You can find them on facebook or by doing a search. You can also find bikerchick here on the forums. I picked up my kit from her but i dont think she sells anymore, but it doesnt hurt to try, right? Crowprops.com sells the kashyyyk boots and gloves but his gloves dont have the gauntlet greeblie, you will have to install it yourself. Which is actually really incredibly hard and i was also not able to find anyone personally who could do it. Wampawear.com sells the gloves with the correct greeblie already attached. I learned a lot personally with the kit. Its fun to build and wear. Just keep going with each piece. Ferra and I are here to answer any of your questions. Welcome to the forest its a great place to be.
