  1. Haha, I was about the post the same link. Scouts helping scouts...love it.
  2. Welcome to Bikerscout.net! Honestly, research. Take a look at the forum, at the work in progress threads from other members, and learn about the various parts, pieces, and vendors/members who offer what you need.
  3. The ear looks good from what I can see. You definitely do not want to cut more there. And yep, the visor needs a little more trimming. Looking good though!
  4. Yes it is, but it's super large (as are most of their parts). That's why it's typically replaced.
  5. That is an HFX (Sci-Fire) blaster being offered by Trooperbay. It's a good one. From time to time, HFX (Slavefive) will post up blasters for sale directly on BSN. Mike from Trooperbay is a great guy too.
  6. Rather than uploading, you should open a free account with Photobucket or another free image hosting service. Then, just link as many photos as you want to your post (similar to my banner). The problem with uploading here, not everyone can see them. On the blaster, yes it's a bit small. It looks kinda funky sitting in the holster. But will not hold up your approval (since the blaster is optional).
  7. I have done it with other helmets like my SC. But, I'm a proud owner of an Altmann's scout helmet too. Spike cuts the ear holes for them. Most excellent indeed!
  8. I concur, Jeff at SC listens to the scouts (here and abroad) and tweaks things from time to time. The tubing looks much better and so do the other parts (not that they were terrible before either). Top notch vendor, IMHO.
  9. I live in Texas, where it can be 103 in the shade. I only have the ear holes, no fans (or an amp). BUT, I also use the Coolskin balaclava from Schampa. No problems on this end! http://www.jpcycles.com/product/115-026
  10. Yep, dish soap (Dawn in my case) works great!
  11. You "might" be able to modify them for Lancer standards. But since these do not look screen accurate, it'll be tough. The boot soles will be the hardest part (color, cuts, etc.). Again, they do look nice but you'd be better off making or purchasing a set that is more accurate.
  12. Hehe, it gets me every time too.
  13. I think they look nice, and might pass basic clearance. It'll come down to the GML and the DL. They will not pass Lancer standards though.
  14. Really? Right on their website is a link for "Contact". http://studiocreatio...om/contact.html And... http://www.studiocre...cout/index.html Or... http://www.studiocreations.com/formmail/index.html
  15. Since it's the pdf file KS sends to any prospective customer (and has not changed in years), there is no harm in posting it. However, anyone who reads a review on KS as a scout related vendor knows "buyer beware".
  16. Read my post above (from May 2015).
  17. The EXACT same thing happened with mine, too.
  18. I added a simple hard hat liner to mine. Easy enough...
  19. Agreed, the Hyperfirm scout blaster is really nice and the DVH rubber blaster is too. Both are practically "unbreakable" and rather lightweight. There is another rubber version made by Duff, but he's working on some updates to it. I usually troop with my Duff or the DVH blaster.
  20. Walt is a good man and a huge credit to our hobby. I think his new scout will be very awesome. Keep us posted!
  21. Looks really good, should pass approval with no issues. A few comments: forearms on the outside of the gloves, and maybe think about getting the suit tailored a bit and take it in. It's really baggy and the vest is rather puffy too. Overall, nice work though!
  22. That would work, but you would need to add the suede flap and leg patches, along with the 2" webbing. Instead of spending that much on the suit, you should get a Redkap and mod it. The cost will be like $25 as opposed to...
