  1. The trick for me is the Velcro on the underside of the bells. If you use a 2" piece you can sort of align it when you attach to fit and look appropriately.
  2. My initial investment in 2011 was about $700. Since then I've updated and upgraded many parts, pieces, and replaced helmets. I'd say I'm close to the $1200 mark at this point. But, really happy with my scout!
  3. The Altmanns helmet is what you seek. Give Spike a PM and he'll hook you up! http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=13442
  4. Although the Holdout blaster is the only approved blaster, you can carry what you like at non-canon events. However, it's also based on your local Garrison's policies and procedures. Best to check with your local Garrison Membership Liaison (GML).
  5. Yep, the Altmanns lid is what you need. I have a tall head (no jokes) and it's the only helmet that can accommodate me.
  6. If you are going for the classic white Biker Scout, no...those will not work. You need something more like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Genuine-Dickies-JobRated-Maxx-Waterproof-Work-Boot/43160403
  7. I have a magnet in the round trigger noted in the pic. It corresponds with a piece of white metal secured to the inner section of my holster. It holds my blaster in place perfectly.
  8. Looking forward to seeing it in your hands!
  9. I love SC armor, but the helmet is too small for my noggin. I'm also not a fan of the faceplate line up. Again, great armor and customer service!
  10. I use this one: http://www.walmart.com/ip/SG-Tool-Aid-19200-Heavy-Duty-Hand-Riveter-Kit-with-40-Rivets/16918791
  11. Great posts and updates, keep going! The vest rides under the cummerbund, but typically rides like a half shirt. Mine sits just under the sternum but not quite to my BB.
  12. The SC kit comes with t-bit greeblies, which are more accurate. I'd use those instead.
  13. No worries, and glad I caught your post. Yes, you can easily remove them using a 1/8" drill bit. You just drill right through that rivet from the outside and it'll pop right out. Once you do that, you will need to trim the ABS parts with the holes off, then glue the smaller belt part over the main belt part. I think you'll have plenty of room. Below are pics of how I did my Shadow Scout (my classic scout is a KS kit with a 1-piece belt). This is my shadow scout belt. You can see the belt ends just past my sides, and then the webbing takes over for the TD.
  14. That is unfortunate. The helmet will never pass 501st standards and their TFA armor is a complete joke.
  15. Great progress and your scout! The only item that of concern is the rivets on the belt. If you plan go Lancer, you'll need to redo that entire setup. There should be only (1) rivet on each side of the back. I realize the SC belt comes in (3) pieces, but you really should have glued them together, rather than adding (2) more additional rivets.
  16. Great advice from the wise Pandatrooper!
