  1. i went to a paint store, and they made it up, but lowes or home depot should be able to do the same thing. the formula that i put up is the shots of tiint they put in the paint. the hc-96 is a benjimin moore color. brand of house paint. i had it made up in a satin latex. i am trying to get the base color good enough where you do not have to do the green tint. ie the green tint is already there in the base coat of paint. the camo to me is applied with a sponge technique. from the screen shots and the other reference. the base coat only looks greenish in the shodows and looks kinda of sandy in the light. if you look at the gree scene, there is no green tint in the base color, and when you look at the battle scene there si a slight green tint to the troops. but up close i do not see a green tint. i think we all agree that the green tint is there for the crl. i just want my paint to contain the green already to eliminate the need for the green wash.
  2. thanks debbi, and welcome to BSN!
  3. here is the new color tint. i think it is pretty dead on. fi yuo cannot get this color let me know i can get it made for you. the formula is HC-96 is the base color with the last 2 added. BK-1/2 TG-1/2 what do you think?
  4. i can send a piece at a time. LOL
  5. so i ran out of plastic this morning while making other peoples armor.........don't worry i have anothe rshipment coming tommorow if the ups guy is nice to me. so......... lo and behold i had time for my stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got to put bondo on all my armor and got the shins, back plate and tank done. still working on my bicep pieces. aliitle more time and they will be ready to paint. here is the shins i put the belts on to see what they would look like. and i had a little time to work on my new helmet.
  6. i agree nate , i think it is grey with weathering.
  7. well this is not a custom color , it is a standard color from the paint store, i will post the number for it tommorow. so anybody wanting it should be able to get it. i really have not found a spray paint that matches the base. and beleive me , i have looked.
  8. rock on, angelo!!! looking good, man.
  9. what do you guys think about this as the base color for the camo armor. i went to a paint store and had them make up a tan to try to match the base color of the armor. it still needs the greenish tint to it. the kahki tan is too dark. let me know what you guys think.
  10. the only time i see any green is when it is in the shadows, when the cumberbund is in the light , it looks grey. on the availiblity of cumberbunds no one is offering them yet. i have freind who is doing one for me and she said once she was done and we get it looking right, she would be open to doing a run. no idea what she will charge , but it won't be expensive.
  11. i knew i would be breaking your heart angelo. but i am in the middle of getting my cumberbund made am i am looking at it going that thing is grey!!! CRL updated.
  12. i agree , i don't see any green on the cumberbund, but there is green on the pouches.
  13. does anyone else think the cumberbund is grey with brown stains besides me???
  14. the pants are darker than the shirt , but the camera flash does make it seem brighter. yeah the thread in the shirt soen't dye like the threads in the pants. but the good news is once i get the alterations done, i can mist the suit with black spraypaint to give it that weathered look. and should help with the overall look. weathering is where all the parts come together. man, i love spraypaint!!!!
  15. here is my undersuit so far. they are british desert camo dyed black and brown. i have had the top pockets removed and used to cover the collar and chest buttons and lapel. that gives the top a turtle neck apperance. when you put the chest armor on, it really looks good. it is attached by velcro. here are the pants thus far. i could not fine any grey leather so i used a gray material to do the riding patch. i still have to get the pockets moved and made in the right shape.
  16. here are the shins glued together. tank and backplate
  17. sorry but i really do not like the pattern , it does not look like the kashyyyk scout trooper camo. the best out there is dyed british desert bdu's.
  18. thanks guys. i finally started to impress falcon-one ,i think. tony ,i am getting your kit together now. with any luck i will ship it early next week. i am waiting on more hips to start everybody else's stuff.
  19. started glueing strips in the armor and putting it together.
  20. list updated. i have one more spot on the list if anyone is interested.
  21. it is nate. yeah the elbow piece tip is a bit long, but can be trimmed when cats build the kit to size. putting the tank through the back plate will be the trickiest part of this kit. you have to trim the backplate hole until threre is almost no raised area on the plate. then slip the tank through. i am glad to get near the end and very excited. as my first armor and helmet build , i am pretty happy the way it is coming out. thanks to heatshock,nzjedi,tk-devo,skygunbro, pghfett and all the others who gave critique and advice on the build. and thanks to BSN for the support.
  22. thanks for the comments guys.
  23. here is the mock up of the armor on. fits pretty good. putting the tank through the backplate is the most tricky part of this kit. t6he armor is just taped together. ignore the pistol sticking out of my paints..........S&W 40 cal.
  24. you need a shorter tank and then you would have room for the right sized pouches. but other than that your KST is the best thus far. nice work.
