  1. looking good!
  2. I will FOR SURE want one. "id pay extra to be bumped to the top of any Queue." hehehehehe Very nice work.
  3. so. i sent back the 60 bucks worth of 1" ZAP pads.... and on my way home from the post office, i stopped at an Army/Navy surpplus sotre. and guess what... they had single 3/4" pads for 1 buck each! WOOT! they did not have the round one, but i was able to use some foam i used to rebuild my porsche interior with.... works fantastic. i was thinking of adding the chin strap but i have to figure out how to make it removable (snaps)... its hard to take off the helmet with it sewn on.
  4. So i had ordered some ZAP helmet pads, and i guess my head is to fat. anyone know a good 1/4" to 1/2" foam thats not cheap open cell upholstery stuff?
  5. so i got to thinking... and i did not like that first set up. so i tried the origional route i wanted to go (like Marcel) and ended up with this. i like it better.
  6. that funny. that was the exact way i was trying to do it at first. but i dont trust my self with cutting in to the helmet. do your magnets touch each other when closed?
  7. i ws thinking of adding the magnets that way in to the helmet... got any pictures?
  8. and here we go! i used nylon "bushing and spacers" from Ace hardware and small 1/4" craft magnets. i just need to clean up the glue a little and add some black paint on the glue so it blends in... works fantastic!
  9. my MLCv3 helmet is fiberglass... so its a little thicker. i got some thin craft magnets, and im going to see if i can use them like you have yours (to tall, would hit my square jaw). im trying to figure out a plan of attack tonight, ill post pics if i do
  10. anyone have pictures of how they mounted the magnets?
  11. tonight i ordered up my ZAP pads to replace the stock foam, and i am searching for small magnets to use to hold the lid down. the fans are going to be fun.... right now i am seaching for good small ones... but no luck so far.
  12. being here in New Mexico, fans might be a good thing....
  13. So i finally got my MC helmet today! YAY! so nice... but.... other then fans, what else should i upgrade it with. i see some people use a welding/construction helmet head band, and fans. im also thinking of using shade 5 welding lens. i sitll need to some up with a fan set up...... thoughts? also, whats the other piece? chin strap plate? im guessing so due to the slots on the side of the helmet.... Duc
  14. Helmet is in the mail today! boo ya!
  15. i have lots of room (pictures lie!). still waiting to hear back from MC. said helmet was done on 15th and would get it out, but i know they are moving so i understand delay. got a storage chest with wheels to, well, store all my stuff. just need a butt load of decals! Ladywhosewsforus should be getting started on my soft armor here soon.... waiting kills me! how long did it take you guys to get your 501st number after you submitted pictures?
  16. very nice idea. good work
  17. so while i am waiting for my Helmet from MC, i decided to see if i can find a small squirrel cage can to help keep me cool. all the ones i can find are huge, and might just be a tad big... what do you guys run for fans? 9v or 12v power? Duc
  18. got the word from MC that they should have my helmet in the mail this week.... its all done and ready. YAY me
  19. do you have a link?
  20. what fans do you use.
  21. here is the right side left side under arm shot and front i left some room for the flight suit and vest. but wont know till i get them in april for LHSFU. thoughts?
  22. Today i finished mounting the chest parts. what a fun time. using a sewing machine is fun....
  23. the cat does not seem impressed....
  24. how low does the chest piece ride under the neck? from what i can tell in the screen shots, its not to far down there...
