Congratulations! Welcome to the Lancers!
-
Well, whattaya know??? Tool, you ol' scally wag! Good to see you on here pal! Yeah, your scout still looks awesome. I think all you need is a new thremal det greeblie. Come on back home & troop with us again!

Looks good!

Welcome, Scott. Height is not too much of a problem to a Scout, as all the parts can be resonablty trimmed, tailored or adjusted. You may wish to go with MC armor since it's a bit on the smaller side already.
-
You could always start washing it. I keed. I keed...
-
Since it's no good for Lancer status anyway, just sand the parts that say "Kenner" or whatever words are molded on it Then paint it black & cut off the trigger. That should pass basic approval just fine.
-
I think the Underarmor is good in hot weather, but you'd pobably have to turn it inside out. Ironically, underarmor seems to always have their stupid U A symbol showing wherever it's noticeable between our armor parts.
-
Not a fan of the two-tone sole. I'd paint it. Plus the sole design (though currently approved) doesn't look as easy to "carve" Lancer details in them as other boots out there.
-
Thats what I have done. It gets hot in Florida. At some point, I'm going to re-rig it to just one fan in the snout, & pull the mesh out the ears for accuracy. Right now, I'm making use of all available space in my helmet. lol...
-
Yeah, I just used bent plastic for mine. You won't be able to see it under the hump, so it doesn't have to be anything exact. Just as long as its something sturdy that will last.
-
Not having the jumpsuit shouldn't set you back too far, if you start on the little things that don't require fitting. Besides, the strapping is still pretty adjustable, so you could start on the belt and arm armor, as well as the hump.

The funny thing about them, is they have TOO much detail. The real props were a really good bit more plain. I'm know I'm probably not suppossed to put this here, but I just saw this http://www.ebay.com/...=item2ec5be637c which proves that if you really want a Kenner blaster, you can still find them for fairly cheap. I don't recommend them to use with the scout costume. As said above, much better ones exist, but they are still kinda neat to have around for nostalgia.

Those definitely don't look bad to me, especially considering the SA shut-down. I have no idea how hard it'd be to sew some suede on though.

I could have sworn there was a good thread some place where someone had detailed photos for vaious buckets as well as armor, with their respective measurements taken. I can't seem to find it now though. I was under the impression MLC was a tad bit bigger than KS, but its been a while since I've seen the two together. Most of us (the scouts in my squad) now seem to all have KS, so its harder to compare. I'd love to check out those two links, but I can't look at eBay at work.

I can't help wondering what that Happy Meal looking box is behind the rebel pilot helmet.
-
Looks like a deluxe from the size of the scout visor. Nice pic!
-
I could be totally wrong here, but I think it's at least partially connected by the two visor bolts on the sides.

Not for basic acceptance. I never filled it in on mine anyway.

Here's my Photobucket write-up from the IOC. It's long, but probably easier than me trying to explain it again. lol. 1. Create your account. http://photobucket.com/ 2. Once you take a picture and save it to your computer, open your Photobucket account and click the "Upload Now" button, which is green and at the top of the screen. 3. Next, click the green "select photos & videos" button. 4. Browse your computer for the pictures you want to upload. You can choose as many as you want to upload by holding down the "CTRL" key on your computer and then click "Open" on your browse box that pops up. The pics will automatically be uploaded and a message will show that says "Upload complete!". You can also use the "bulk uploader" for multiple pictures. It's a bit faster. 5. Next, click on the "save and continue to my album" button. Now...if you are an organizational freak like me, you can make mulitple albums to store your pictures in, all with whatever labels you want to put on them. I have one for costumes, board images, troops, builds, etc. Once this is done, you can move your newly uploaded images to whatever folder you want for storage. That way your default album doesn't get too cluttered. If you post your pictures on the boards BEFORE you move them, the link will be broken and the picture will disappear once you move it. If you post your pictures AFTER you move them to another subfolder, then it will remain safe in there, and the link will remain active for as long as you have the picture. You can also just leave the picture in your default album and not move it at all. HOW TO MOVE A PICTURE: 1. Take your mouse and hover over your picture. It will then display a box with a blue bar at the top. 2. Put your cursor over the word "Move" in the blue bar and click on it. 3. Another box will pop up that warns you that the link will be broken if you perform this action. 4. From the gray drop-down menu, select the album you want to store the picture in and click the blue "Move" icon. 5. Select your subfolder and open it. Hover over your picture and you'll see the same box appear with the blue bar across the top that says "Share/Delet/Move". This time, move your cursor over the very bottom line in that box, labeled "IMG Code". Click directly over the code that is in that line. You should see the word "Copied" appear now. 6. Start your post on the boards and right click your mouse where you want to insert your picture by clicking the word "paste". You'll then see a line of code appear that will ultimately contain your picture(s). You will have to follow these steps for every picture you want to post.

You should have no problem with it if you've already put together a TK lid. They're both tricky in different ways though.
-
Since my big melon barely fits into my KS, with the speaker system & fan battery pack, I just have a few pieces of foam here & there. My ear holes are covered with black mesh to hide the fans.
-
Its a real shame. I was really wanting to get some Kashyyyk & Jango boots from this fellow. Hopefully all the empty handed folks will get their boots, or their money back soon.
-
When I got my KS a few years ago, the decals included were considered fine, but I believe the standards a bit more stringent now. I agree that Trooperbay is the way to go now. I got my TK decals from him & they were awesome.

Congrats bro!

So far so good. I like the look of those boots. The soles are solid in all the right spots & they're already the right color.
