Welcome, Burrezito! Head over to the newbie section & say hello. I agree, the KS is probably the lightest helmet out there, with SC possibly being only slightly heavier.

The marine vinyl is the right material. It's smooth on one side and fairly course on the other. It's fairly common in the US. Marcel might be able to steer you in the right direction for where to find it in the UK.

Thanks, Chris. I'm terrible at estimating how much of that stuff to use. I always get way too much. lol And, yeah, I take back my initial assessment of your ear openings after taking a good look. You and Jim are right; they could be just a bit wider. Can't wait to see your test fitting.

I think the holes look about right. You don't wanna make them too big. Just out of curiosity, how much vinyl did you end up using on your boots?
-
Probably for the tan colored soles, I 'd guess. I think Marona boots make a good base boot, shape-wise. Not sure if they are still being made though. I haven't seen any around in a while.

Can someone please explain this

None within the last few years...if ever. Way too much work would have to done to a Rubies to get Lancer IMO. -
I don't believe I've seen a resin helmet before. Post up some pics if you can.

Yes. Its that bad. That's all I can say. lol. -
I think just the shipping for mine was $20. Lol .

Gotta be. Pics are basically identical. Agreed. About time they had a proper website. Very cool .
-
Interesting. I've never actually seen this website. Looks identical to SA gloves though. Maybe I just never noticed it?
-
Thats great! Be sure to start a build thread when it arrives.

Better to spend it on a good quality item up front, than to spend it later fixing a not-so-good quality item.

EFX to make a Biker Scout helmet from the original molds
bjsavage7 replied to lonewolf's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I haven't heard anything in a long time. It didn't appear at ComicCom, but an entire set of TK armor did, so maybe it was put on the back burner. -
So far so good!

Nice! I am very interested to see more. -
Mine too. Makes an easy set up.

Oh, you know you've been wanting to repaint those with lovely KTs! lol.

Inside of the screen used bucket
bjsavage7 replied to Stroker's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I don't think anyone has nailed it down to what it is exactly but most seem to lean towards it being a fabric or possibly even just that part of the helmet painted black. -
If this is going to be the equivalent of Lancer, applicants will have to go through BSN staff.

Thermal detonator greeblie, new pics
bjsavage7 replied to lonewolf's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Maybe it rains black water on Endor, or the tree sap is very dark in color. lol -
Yeah, heat guns are tricky. I've made some boo boos with one myself. For a very thin guy, you can try wearing a bulkier vest/undersuit, or even put just a bit of padding in the armor.
-
Other than what's mentioned already, you look ready to go. One thing I'd recommend is maybe adding some vercro between the top inside of your right boot and your pant leg. It looks like your blaster may be pulling it down a bit.

Ah. I see. Good question. Similar to the many details underneath an imperial officer costume that nobody need ever bother with, but were there. Hard to see if it's really just the guy's chin, but it looks like it is, in compairisson to the white armor. Then again, there is an amber shade there that matches the visor lense. Perhaps a slight glare from the inside of the helmet is making it appear to be skin-colored. Or...it could be just his chin. I dunno.

Good luck on your build. Let the boys in Orlando know if you run into any issues.
