I would prefer real suede myself if it wasn't for the fact my suit is usually soaking wet with sweat after every troop and has to be washed soon after. The faux suede is a lot more washing-machine-friendly.

Mine is padded similarly to Cristian's, but a hard-hat liner would be more screen-accurate to use.

New Chin cup for my CB bucket
bjsavage7 replied to CRISTONAMO's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Chin cup looks good. Would look better with the balaclava worn the accurate way. -
Maybe you could try sewing some industrial Velcro on your pant-leg where it can help hold up the top of the boot.

Yeah, looks great! Like Chef said, just give it a nice coat of black & it's ready to go pew pew!

I'm building a KS for a friend right now. Whew. Nothing like a TK lid. lol. Whish me luck

I agree. Adding a video game variant would probably just give outsiders the perception someone was costuming as sub-par/inaccurate scout.

Please use abbreviations for makers. ...but no. Not really. Those are both good choices.

Just like they said, use common sense, and be mindful when interacting with crowds or kids. There are usually guidelines for certain troops depending on your location, but a TB blaster is usually nothing to worry about anywhere you go. Whenever in doubt, just ask your squad leader or garrison CO before a troop. Most (decent) event organizers (usually) have the common sense to realize stormtroopers & similar characters only carry fake weapons & advise their security staff of such.

Looks good man. I'd say other than cutting the screen-accurate notches in the soles (which you should just go ahead & do ), the dog bone droops over the edge of the sole just a tad much. Perhaps trim that just a bit.

Agree with Chex. Also, you can put a screen-accurate hard-hat liner in your helmet to make it sit right on your head.

"Nuff said.

Yeah, looks really low due to the absence of buckles. Not bad at all though. A shame you have two rivets on each side and not one, centered.

Really nice work, Dane!

I agree with Dart. Stay away. Far away from them.

Trust us...they would. They really would. Listen to Chunk. With a little time, effort, and patience, they can be done and you'd also have the satisfaction of doing them yourself.

This is the protoype costume. They changed that detail before the final design made it to film. This is also (presumably) the pic Kenner was given to make an action figure.

I assumed she wanted the real-world name of them.
-
Other than "Alice clips", I'm not sure what you might call them.

I know the balaclava is a requirement because we know the Scouts wore them under their helmets, but I've noticed some scouts wearing ninja-style balaclavas that cover most of their face. Most people don't worry much about details that can not be seen under a helmet or underneath armor, but we do actually see a full balaclava in the movie and it is open-faced. Notice the captured rebel trooper: So what do you guys think? Should an open-faced balaclava be required?

I think length isn't the issue, but the vest sleeves being a bit loose. They should hug your arms more.

Stirrups work well, and so does tucking them into socks. You can also try using military blousing straps. http://www.armysurplusworld.com/product.asp?productID=18597

Is this too much weathering?
bjsavage7 replied to EvilScout's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Too dirty for me, but it looks good. -
No. They need to look like this: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?app=gallery&image=81
