Lancer was always about fit and finish, I do not really want to go into different levels of accuracy like the TKs. Lancer is enough, its easy to nail obvious parts. But parts that are then hidden, can remain choice at this point I think untill proven. Something that a read a month or so back on the forums that upset me, was troopers complaining we are too anal. This is the quote... I think all these award things 'can' lead to elitism. We've fought this on the BlizzardForce detachment for this very reason. Some have stated they tend to think the BSN and FISD have been fragmented due to the inclusion of these levels/awards. That really shocked me as I felt we are probably one of the least anal detachments with a more family feel, we have to be very carefull if views like this are flying around, this was a odd to me seeing as hardly any troopers bother with lancer in the first place so how can that quote be true

It could be said the side strap is marjonally thinner than the belt so we could go in at 45mm and split the difference. Trouble with the buckle the only clear picture on the belt is either the MOM, and we know thats rubbish really, screen suit or throw together no one knows, same witt the book picture. Now looking closely at the screen grabs, I agree a clip cannot be seen there, now is it because it wasnt there or was it smaller (no likely looking at the belt thickness) but we cant say 100% it wasnt there. Ive been meaning to change mine for a long time to just lap as I feel it would be easier to dress, as sometimes slipping the clip in can be a pain. Would I take out the clip from the lancer specs no, not without 100% proof. It is also a part that is hidden so does it really matter, that would come down to a troopers preference again.Clip or lap, that could be re worded to either is fine. At the end of the day Im loving troopers are finally getting down and dirty with details, I got nigh on stoned for adding a vest and riding patches to the CRL and they were clearly there lol. So this feel me with pride as our new scouts are pushing for more all the time Good on you !

I dont think another picture needs to be aded as the picture is more to show shape and construction rather than material, for basic CRL clearance its just that a basic CRL. All that really needs to be added is cotton/nylon material can be used. At the end of the day it is up to the GML's to say wether the material is too shiney so troopers will need to provide reference to each of theor respective GML's if going that route. It could open up a can of worms if troopers dont do their homework on the selection of material (cotton heavy weight fabric was an easy one to get right), and get refused due to over shiney or no heavy weave to the fabric.
-
Personally I cant see why it cant be as long as the fabric is not over shiney and still has the heavier weave to it

Did any of you guys get your heads together on this as it seems to have died. Did you want to start a discussion thread with a poll as to wether you want this in the CRL?

Time for Approval/501st Acceptance
4505Marcel replied to PanzerKraken's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
It also would depend on how many people are waiting in front of you I guess, but I would also say 2-3 weeks -
I under stand what your saying but ultimately vendors are selling unlicenced gear and so really the trade section shouldnt excist full stop. Im trying to put into place foremost protection of our troopers an second a little secutrity for the vendors too that is all. Thers no conspiracy on only allowing preferd vendors, but it is far too easy for venors to dissapear, or not supply for an awfull long time with no way of contacting them or after the paypal 45 day threshold has gone. Atleast with a vendor being 501st, they almost certainly can be contactable at all times. This is a 501st club so vendors that have no interest in joinging or making a costume, or contributing to this community are just here for the money in my eyes, there will always be ways of getting gear. With sith armour in mind they dont actually sell here, yet most buy from them, is a example of not really needing a trade section to supply. As Chef said troopers talk to each other and pretty much know where to go, this is also the job of the armourers to point troopers in the right direction. I feel it is a good thing to have troopers get to know us and also allowing us to get to know them, questions should be asked about suitable armour ect before buying, learning build techniques ect so a minimum post count is really easy to achieve.

Need help with webbing/ elastic sizes
4505Marcel replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
There isnt a size for that as such, most tend to use 50mm (2") -
Not really this is a 501st detachment, so ultimately everyone should be 501st or aiming for 501st, once 501st everyone can sell so every one gets a crack of the whip
-
Just ha a thought... On a flip side what if all vendors stopped selling wares due to licensing issues so nothing could be brought anyway, ultimately would mean no scouts and no trade section. In the past one of the major armour makers said to me they dont adverstise because it is an open forum, if we increased security for them also, maybe they would be more open. Food for thought

Trouble is some of this stuff is made to measure, so by not taking payments up front is very dodgy, I had a few in the past order stuff and then once made backed out. For an instance trying to find a trooper again with exactly the same waist and chest including height of bund for me wasnt going to happen so items were binned, hence I ask for payments up front. But then ive never not delivered so troopers trust me, and that has to be earned. I do feel long waiting times once paid has to be stopped, things must be kept within the paypal safety net time wise. I cant understand why vendors take the money knowing they are not even going to be staring the order for several months, surely a list is good enough, they dont have to start the work untill paid but take ayment nearer the time. This is not a newbie lock out, all we are asking is a time scale to get to know troopers, armourers will advise on vendors. The other thing we see is vendors popping in with no posts selling wares, or members coming in buying their bits and we never see them again which is a shame
-
Once 501st cleared though under this system you coul sell them on behalf of your father, trouble is once things do go belly up (and Im not pointing this to you hun) how on earth do troopers get in contact if the vendor decides not to honour the deal. Atleast if 501st registered we can then go to their CO or they will have details logged or someone will know them as a garrison mate so contact can be made. Chef made a good point if WIP are posted interest automatically starts, I had this with my rifle. Same with yours Heidi. And lets be honest a month and a few posts is not hard to achieve. We need to get to know troopers, and vice verser. It give guys time to do reasearch ect also, but ultimately this is what the armourers are for, that side of thing seems to be a bit dormant at present
-
That is also what i mean by we get to know you and what you want first, if you said in the ask an armourer thread. I really wnt a hyperfirm, then the armourers can then give you the contact details for said pistol
-
I dont feel a trooper should be 501st to access the trade section, as gear needs to be brought to become 501st, but a member should have many posts and time in to access it. More so we get to know said trooper and also once we know more about them say body size ect. They can be advised of say what armour that will suit them, before they get access to the trade section to buy it. Were not talking alot here just say 1 month an 10 posts even. So were certainly not locking anyone out. Now we have a vendors list in here, so guys can see who does what if a vendor wants to be on it, things like bunds, boots, undersuits are not really licensed so can be public but armour however is. So in this public section we could use the vendor points so guys can see who is good and who is not. I feel we could put a time limit on sales, why do vendors need 6-9 months to get gear out???? In short they dont, for instance a set of armour can be pulled very quickly. So a vendor shouldnt take money untill they are ready more or less to make it in real time. Or put us on a list an once near ready to forefill the order then make contact to take the funds, that way we are all within the 45 day paypal safety net. I do feel a vendor should be atleast 501st cleared, if not surely they are just using the forum as a money making machine. At the end of the day we are not supposed to make money from this at all. Why a locked 501st sale thread and a standard locked thread, well thats simple you need to be 501st to buy 501st swag

Hey troopers, with the site shaping up nicely. I wanted to discuss the trade section as the next thing that needs looking into, I have spoken to Chex and Griffen X and now its time for your views. We seem to be having issues with merch runs, vendors not delivering or supplying poor quality goods and the like. Now I want to get into place better security for you guys spending your hard earned money. Theres a few ways we can tackle this, some of the ideas I have are as follows- To be able to use the trade section, a vendor must be atleast be 501st cleared, this is to stop vendors messing up and doing a runner with guys money. Now I know this isnt 100% fool proof but atleast a vendor should be contactable and details logged within the legion. If there not 501st then how do we contact them if they decide to not honor the deal. A vendor must be a member or the BSN for say 3 months and have 25 posts minimum, atleast we can then get a feel for who we are deling with. Apart from things like patches that require large runs, do we limit run numbers on other items to give a vendor time to deliver, this will be quite hard to enforce though. On anouther side of the coin what about vendor security, I was thinking about locking down the trade section. Troopers then need to ask for access after say 1 month and 10 posts or similar, this could be done so vendors also know who they are dealing with. As at the end of the day we are talking about unlicensed stuff. So thoughts really as its your forum guys.......

Yup sewn onto the suit and stuck onto the armour bud
-
Also you need to flip over your TD and also flip over the rectangle greeblie so the rectangles stick out the top
-
Agreed SC is one of the largest, along with KS. Im a 45" chest and my SC is fine, it certainly would go up in a few sizes. Put your chest roughly on you bro with tape and get someone to take a picture of it on you so we can see what your up against. The SC helmet is however known for being quite small MC is only really for shorter thinner troopers, other wise the armour looks tiny on larger troopers
-
Is there more than one picture? Try hosting them on Photo bucket as BJ said, get a few more up bro
-
You could just use plastic weld liquid on the laps to attach the belt as one piece. Tank is one rivit on the top silver coloured that goes through the tank topper greeblie and the hump into the back plate. The bottom again one rivit, I painted mine white. Does SC not supply theor instructions anymore on how to put the tie wraps through the side release buckle? Remember to swap out the drop box straps for cotton webbing (unless SC now supply cotton)
-
You could run a stitch up the leg of the suit (outsie seam sewn up the inside) making the leg tighter but the top remain the same, this will make a lot of difference on looks bud. Vest sleeves look like they could be a touch shorter, again no biggy just turn them in and sew. Chef has nailed t for you though

As I said Im happy to have this in the CRL once we have discussed it, it neednt be just cotton in my mind. I feel we need to be carefull on how shiney we can go, Id say yours is border line, I dont think it should be more glossy or textureless than the material you have used. I just feel for me persoanlly there isnt enough evidence to say either way, so Il stick with my heavy twill for now
-
I think its very hard to tell by the "screen" grab on the material, personally I take the MOM and blue ray picture with a pinch of salt. As we know the MOM had lots of errors so could the Blue ray suit, The rear screen grab does look like it has a sheen or could it just be the bright in studio lighting used. So hard to tell Unfortunately nobody knows for sure that the MOM or Blue ray suits used screen used parts, or parts made after. Im not against people using the fabric if you want the choice with a sheen as long as the overall look is right, but for me personally there is no firm evidence of it being used on screen for me to alter the material on mine or what I use at this point in time. Your bund does look very nice though bro

I felt it very important to keep an ear both sides of the pond, so we can get a feel on whats going on within the legion from all areas. Then we can see what the best interests of the BSN are to push us forward. Chex has more than proven himself for the job.
