I use the same T strap mate hanging from the bridge fabric, but you also need a elastic around the arm too for accuracy and to hold them in place
-
storing your armor and bucket?
4505Marcel replied to Donovan's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I just have large plastic tubes that stack, with all my various costumes in, the buckets are mostly on the shelves. And things like latex or uerthane I try to hang to avoid creases. The scout armour is probably the easiest as most of it will sip togther, chest in back, forearms in biceps, biceps in shoulders, shoulder in knees -
Yes and no, Ive seen guys use a T shirt as a base to work from, but the neck line needs to widened considerably and also you need a 2" or 50mm rear velcro closure
-
butt flap and riding patches are pig suede ( get the thinnest you can) Tandy leather is a good place. The other soft parts are heavy weight cotton called drill or twill
-
When on troops I use one of those motor biker fleece lined carry bags, I then wrapped that in a little bubble wrap too, the armor itself wont break in the case. A hard case is best the soft ones will give a little when stacked and could stress the armour
-
I put all mine in a hard case and everything was fine both ways last time I trooped abroad. I will however be driving over to CE2 so not so much of a panic this time round. If its in a hard case and packed well youl be fine, its a good idea to have pictures of yourself in costume and a description of what it is, is a good idea for customs

Normally no the laces stay in, but it does look like the laces extend quite far down the toe on these which isnt ideal if you dont want them to show. Possibly start the laces a few eyelets up might help?
-
Agreed leave the pauldrons to the sandies mate, scouts do not wear them in th films. Use a small less in your face decal for your outpost instead, those can be quite tastefull and distinguishing. I dont get the whole cannon and non cannon event thing, if scouts are out in costume EVERY event should be cannon, for the publics pleasure more than anything. Just my view, but your CO will make this decission.

Do you have a vest its hard to tell bro? TD greeblies from Donn Jarr on ebay and replacment bolts can be brought via out trade section. Shoulder bridge covers is just a piece of fabric the same as the bund wrapped around to cover the join bro, 5 minutes work Also a balaclava is needed
-
Yes as long as it fits you right, which it will if its made to measure. Only way a flight suit will fail lancer is if it is too baggy. And as Lee said you must have the added suede and elastics in place
-
I find before glueing on the bone trim, offer it up and mark with two dots exactly where it needs to sit. I then apply the E6000 and drop it straight on the marks, pin and also a piece of tape over the top. But as Rob said tight curve is the bottom mate
-
Nice one mate, glad you got there without issue
-
Im still waiting on the barrel and muzzel so no updates Im affraid, I guess it will be next week now before I get them back
-
Same here my belt velcros to the bund
-
Yes have the bottom of the bund sit level with the bottom of the belt, the bund must not show below the belt mate, I say have the bund come up to about nipple height that way there is enough lap at the top for the armour Ive never heard or seen any reference to the bund finishing level with the belt butted up together?
-
I have no problem with your posted link bro, Im not overly keen when folk join just to sell thier wares and have no interest in the BSN itself but links are fine. Have to say I may well join you and get one for my snow scout, and if there good upgrade my standard flight suit Il have a wee look at yours tomorrow at the troop mate, Im splitting scout with Indy for the day. Cant do sunday now
-
The shape is good, apart from there shouldnt be any external stitching visable bro. The stitching is supposed to be hidden inside
-
Looking good bud, what do you have planned for the inside?
-
There is no mention of pouches going past the armour on the CRLs also
-
What you could probably do is to trim your foam filler to make them look less boxy looking if you like, I did the same as you and then re did them with curved edges on the foam to mate them look more natural. If anything I'd say the pouches could go out wards a touch. Mine go past the armour also a tiny bit, the MC Chest plate is quite small also which isn't helping, SC may have been better for fit, if you go smaller on the pouches they will then be too short for you as at the mo the length is right, bit of a catch 22
-
Ah cool il bring my UKG branding tools then lol, I may make anouther this weekend with a pointed bottom just to see what it looks like if I get time
-
Id go for SC mate, I have a 45" chest and it fits me well
-
Thing is with the trooper you are talking about the belt is severly twisted if you look, the centre belt detail is more or less in line with the cod edge (left), and there is about half the thickness of the centre belt detail of cod hanging out to the right. Id say max 10" width possibly 9" of cod showing under the belt its very hard to tell. One thing for sure its more of a V shape rather than a line like ive seen from some vendors supply with their bunds that sort of end up looking odd rather than a nice V It is wide though like you say, I keep tweaking mine but its hard to replicate. I wonder if they would be better ending up as a V at the bottom rather than a 2" flat where the elastic attaches, to aid the dreaded tamel toe? Ive just altered a spare bund with the cod finishing well short of the middle of my crotch, I have no camel toe now, but you can see where the cod ends Il show you saturday Rob and see what you think.
-
Just use dylon stone (beige) dye mate with half quantities that what I did with my pouches and straps, only takes about 30 mins in the solution and job done I then washed mine twice to dull them down further
-
No your right it does say either colour can be used and yes will pass basic requirments. I always urge troopers to follow the lancer crl, just because its not really much more work and more accurate. Yours is looking very nice, so thought you could jump to lancer with a couple of tweeks without too many problems bro
