Halloween costume turned into Lancer project

Get some pics up mate, so we can give you some pointers. -
If going lancer I'd keep it seperated mate while you can, all the previous lancers have had it that way.
-
Guys you may or may not have read Deans post about his vest being attached to the under suit, basically he wanted to know if this would be ok for 501st clearance and lancer? Now my thoughts on this is that as long as the overall look is fine then yes for 501st basic clearance, but as we know they used racing style suits in the film, so most definatelty wouldnt of had the bund or vest sewn in. So we should do the same for lancer and have all these bits seperate if we are going movie accurate which is the whole point of it. Thoughts please......
-
I would say for 501st clearance you would be fine, I do feel however for lancer this is anouther subject the masses will want to discuss. I personally feel the parts should be made seperate, as we know they used racing style suits which certainly wouldnt of had a vest attached so in my mind the vest and bund should be seperate for lancer.

Build the MG42 varient sniper instead bud, looks awesome with the scouts in the game But as far as I know there is no tutorial for building a DLT on here, have you tried the FISD or RPF

How to: Sew a cummerbund cod piece with no "camel toe"
4505Marcel replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Good idea, but surely that plastic insert is going to dig into your crotch when walking or kneeling??? -
Not bad at all mate, my only critique would be they could have been tighter over the lace top section and the sole at the front is quite deep. But they will be just the job mate well done. Did you use heat to stretch the toe covering? I use a heat gun and stretch them around 3-4 times pinning each time to get them tight.

Coming along nicely trooper

Might be my screen but I still cant see the velcro square/stitches in those pics, but as with the turned in edge seam the dirt could still pick out on the raised area as with the square of velcro even from the other side as it does stick out a touch when I iron mine flat still. I feel no visable stitches any where is best???
-
There will be no seam allowance measurment, thats just going a little too far. Yes Terry you are correct in what I was trying to say
-
As said above in those grabs posted, you can clearly see that the pouch is turned inside out and the return can be seen inside just. Is everyone happy for the no stitches to be added to lancer?
-
MOM is abit hit and miss for accuracy, I was looking at screen grabs and cant see the velcro attachment stitches. Brad if you look at the picture Terry posted there is no visable stitch lines running around the edges on the flaps. Basically they are made in side out and then turned right way round which then hides the stitches. Some pouches are now being made with a visable stitch line around the edges

Hey troopers I want to give fair notice of a pouch flap amendment to the lancer "ONLY" CRL that we want to make, this has beed discussed and I feel it is time to amend the lancer CRL. Basically It has never really been an issue as most troopers and bund vendors seem to follow our correct patterns, we agree and looking at screen grabs pouches are made with hidden non visable sitiches. But lately we have noticed that vendors are supplying pouches with stitches running around the outer edges and also where the velcro is attached can be seen. Now this is fine for standard clearance I guess but we feel that the stitches should be invisable for lancer as per movie. From what I see the cod id made the same way with no visable edge stitches Nothing major but needs to go in, just to help future lancers building or purchasing incorrect parts Thoughts and views guys? As you were

Deployment Project Waiting On Approval

Yup webbing suspenders is what I use, looking at your bund id say you could of done with it a touch wider for your height, cod could have been a touch wider also I recon bud. And as Jim said your shoulder bells need pulling in, try attaching them to the shoulder bridge fabrics of your armour. But all in all suits you sir -
If your just going as costumed public I say go without and enjoy yourself, obviously you cant get cleared without the holster for 501st so will need to re make them before clearance properly
-
These can be found at the top of the Scout and Kashyyyk sections, or in the bulliten board under reference they also can be found on the main legion site
-
There all minor tweaks mate, but I feel you may not have time to get the right parts in time for C6 for clearance but you never know. To reduce the suit did you try sewing down the inside of the in seem, I did this to mine and it did the trick? For the boxes, tube and holster, give Jeff a call at SC hes a great guy and will help you out bro
-
If your going for a screen used look and finish there are quite a few issues mate. Bund definately wants pulling up as do your pouches, the pouches also need stuffing and you could maybe drop the belt a little, your drop boxes and some armour parts are huge what make armour is it? The TD tube is too short and should be grey and lacking greebies, your straping is mostly the wrong size also but its hard to see it all. I would also try and take in your flight suit as it is really quite baggy on you. You will also need to make some fabric shoulder bridges for between the chest and back armour, quite hard to see but I think you may have the wrong fish hook decal on the lid. You also dont have any decals (pin stripping or bars) on your tank and you need to paint in the grey rectangle on the chest plate. You could probably trim a little off the armour where the chest and back meet at the top, to pull them closer to your body. Thats what sticks out to me bro
-
Agree with John look for a cheaper base boot mate, those at $80 are too expensive to use as scout boots and not perfect by no means
-
I generally make pouches 6x7 for troopers say over 5'9" and pouches 5x6 for troopers under
-
Hey Beth easy 501st pass there trooper!!!! Only thing is the rear thong elastic 50mm like the thighs? as it looks thinner
-
I carry a sound system, 8 AA batteries and a nokia speaker, also my mobile and keys in my pouches while trooping, I have my pouches sewn to the bund, but I do use braces on my bund under my vest which holds it all up, but to be honest I recon it would stay up without the braces as the bund is fitted so it grips under friction I suppose. I have foam rounded on the edges to pack my pouches with shapes cut out the back of the foam for the batteries, sound system ect so they cant be seen
