Well, to answer your question, you should be just fine. I'm 6'2". Gigantor here on the boards is..at a minimum 6'4" or 6'5", and he just got his scout approved (with a little help ) So you can do it, and you can have it look right. SC armor tends to lend itself better to people on the taller side, where MC suits shorter people. So yeah, you shouldn't have a problem with SC armor.

PM sent.

I do the spin the bund around thing too..vest, I need help with though.

As for raising your hip boxes, you don't want them hanging with more then a 4 inch space between belt and box. BJ mentioned pulling down your belt. You don't want your bund popping out below your belt. Your tank pin striping should be more symmetrical. It's uneven and goes too far out. Is that the KS snout on your bucket? If so, when you get the chance, replace it with an MC snout. Not too bad though. Like Chef said, fit and finish.
-
I used a satin for the snout, and semi-gloss for the aerator. The tank topper, just a flat white for the circle, and the red on the dial is your basic red, doesn't really matter if it's flat, gloss, etc.

Not just yet. The last maker has given his permission for anyone with it to recast it, but so far, no one has done so.

Call it personal choice, but I serious hate suspenders on a scout. I'd just sew some velcro on the vest and bund. Less to worry about, and you don't have to worry about suspender straps being seen overlapping your shoulder. Only draw back to that is having to have someone pull the bund up in the back to the velcro. But yeah, vest under the bund. The fit is great. The chevron on the bund is a little high and it should be arced more instead of coming to a point, but nothing that would keep you from getting approved.

neck seal Why stormtrooper neck seals for Scouts?
Chex replied to TB-7076's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
To me it looks like the mandarin collar was just pushed down a little, resulting in a ribbed look, but nothing more then a fold in the collar. I say no neck seal. -
MIne is a custom made suit with some Chex mods that were made for Lancer.

Yeah I think Jeff is sending cotton with the kits now. Working on my GPR's wife's scout and she got cotton webbing. Looking forward to your build, and I have to say...about time!

I say get rid of the trigger, because scout blasters don't have triggers. They put one on the Kenner toy, cause it was a toy. As for the tank, good job, however if you plan on going Lancer, you'll have to redo the rivet. You riveted from the top, and it needs to be done from the inside of the tank so you have the other end on top with the washer.
-
Def get rid of the trigger on the blaster. As for the tank mount, I did the whole cutting a flap, and bending it up using a heat gun. Easy, and it works. Not a bad looking build so far. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build.

I'll talk to my friend tonight about trying to get some better pics. He knows people I think, or he may be able to pull some frames from the blu-rays.

KS helmet, what needs to be changed?
Chex replied to Goubatsu's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
But ya def wanna make it look better by switching out the stickers, snout, and visor bolt covers. -
I need your opinion on my finsihed helmet
Chex replied to Uplandmacenter's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Yep, better decals, redo the fish hook, and get rid of that snout. Order yourself an MC snout. -
Well, with any costume, it's someone is always finding something, or challenging something. Makes us all think, and re-think everything.. Like I said, def something we'll prolly be discussing soon I'm sure. Andi, I pretty much went through frame by frame of all the scout scenes..it's a pain in the butt, but it is what it is. Heh, actually saw scouts with no pin striping or td greeblies lol. And I did see a scout that looked to be a little heftier then the others.
-
I wouldn't order ks soft parts. Bund just doesn't seem good quality, and the pouches are way too big. Luke Rick said, if price isn't an option, go with MC. Be prepared to wait 6 months for it. Other then that, I'd go with SC. You can make a ks suit look good, but you'll put more work into it then the others.
-
Ok, after going through every scout scene on the blu-ray, the most I could count was 5 ribs. This from a 40" 120 htz 1080p flat screen. I couldn't even come close to finding definite proof of 7 stitches showing 6 ribs. I could make out 5 on some stills, but the quality just isn't there still to make out more then that. My question would be where the 7 vertical stitches came from in the first place.
-
My thing is, how do we know that the bund and pouches weren't remade just for this, and made wrong? Guess we really need to find a nice clear still from the movie to really prove this.
-
Should be real suede. We should honestly have a discussion about that though in the future.
-
You have reference pics?
-
That's what I use. A piece on the top of the bund and under the bottom part of the chest to keep it in place, and 2 pieces on the back of the vest to keep it up in the back. Never had any problems with slippage.

Is this a good helmet? Anything wrong with shape of helmet?
Chex replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Just a tip. Stay away from Ebay. I know ya wanna join up, but doing it slower with the right info makes a load of difference. -
Boots, do I need a new leg part? Are they good?
Chex replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
Nope, wouldn't clear in my garrison. Sorry to say bro. Throw 'em up on ebay and resell them. Hope you didn't pay too much. -
Overwhelmed! Correct Technique? Where do I begin?
Chex replied to a topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Ryan, lemme break out my scout and I'll PM you with pics of individual parts so you can see how I put together my SC armor. Will do that after dinner, tonight.
