If you're a larger guy, you'd be better off speaking to Jeff at Studio Creations. His armour is one of the bigger sets. He can also do the Storm Commando in black. Also, get yourself over to the Spec Ops detachment http://forum.501stspecopsdet.net It's where we engage in all those 'covert ops'.

I was waiting for the barrage of "on your head' comments here!

Yeah, there's been a couple of 'concept carbines' as well. There's the ones from the original canon concept artwork. I know someone was making replicas of the top one a while back, but not sure whether this is still the case or not, and the 2nd one is very similar in size to the E11 (standard one) just with the folding stock extended. Yeah the magazine is on the other side (but you can't have it all!).

Just get some automotive 3mm Pin Stripe tape. You can find it easily on eBay.

Just swing the turrets so they're on the vertical and horizontal... not on the diagonals. Sorry, the picture is from the wrong side, but you get the idea. -
To be fair, that's not what is technically classed as the E11s, but was a fan-made mock up of what they thought one would look like. The E-11s is pretty much a DLT-19 with a scope on the top. There is plenty of 'canon' reference to substantiate the larger MG34 based sniper rifle.

Welcome. All depends on what direction you wish to go in! Are you looking to just buy parts off the shelf, or are you willing to put some effort in and make stuff yourself? This does tend to vary the information you are passed. But feel free to look around, it's not as massive a task as it may seem.

that's a very tidy job. well done.

Afternoon Mark. The only things that are instantly standing out is the fact that your drop strap ends are poking out from behind the drop boxes, and the scope on your blaster is every so slightly forward. The turret bezel (the wide bit in the middle) should abut the scope ring. And if I'm being really really picky, the belt just needs levelling up ever so slightly (wonky hips like me... don't worry). Beyond that, I think you've done a grand job. It'll go up before the panel for discussion. We'll let you know the outcome. Cheers Rob. -
What exactly do you mean by 'not attaching'? I'm assuming the zip is joined properly at the bottom and it runs up and down, interlocking/unlocking the teeth properly as it should and the little latch on the zip head itself that's at fault and just not locking it in place? If so, I think it might be possible to rethread a new zip-head onto the zip. It will need undoing at the bottom, and when the new one is in place, it will need sewing back together. failing that, why worry about a zip, just whack some poppers in there or some velcro. It'll all be hidden under your flak vest and bund anyway.
-
Depends on by how much you need to take it out. As long as you can get an overlap, all is not lost. What you can do is remove the velcro, but leave the stitching on the 'outermost' layer to create the look of the 2" closure. Then create a flap that goes from the outer layer that then goes behind the other side and has the velcro attachment on for closure. It's a bit difficult to describe. But basically you'll have the right side go over the left (as you would normally), but then a flap that comes from the right side that goes UNDER the left where the velcro/poppers/zip join is. The aim is to get that new fastening section as invisible as possible. Generally the maximum you can gain via this method is only 2"

Welcome... You've come to the right place for asking. There are other Armour types out there, some of which are more accurate in the detail, and some which are a bit 'closer to home'. I'll let everyone else inform you of their opinion. Studio Creations (SC) is good gear, don't get me wrong and Jeff is a stand up guy, so you can't go far wrong with his stuff. There are various people on here that can provide the vast majority of the soft goods you seek. Please contact one of the staff regarding the current state of vendors. Gloves seem to be the only thing that can cause an issue at the moment. Keep an eye out on eBay. Boots, there's a great tutorial on here for making your own, but again, look in the trade section and you'll find people who can make them. Voice Amp. Not entirely necessary, but the Aker Voice amp works well and is pretty cheap. Feel free to drop me a PM if you need anything specific. Or just post it up on here, plenty of people will chime in.

Tell him to pull his socks up or face a bit of "soap in the sock" ala Full Metal Jacket.

Looks OK. If you've got the option, I'd make it a bit wider, but length downwards is fine. If you need to drop it down you can, as your bund and belt will generally dip below that elastic line on your suit.

Looking tippedy top there. Personally, when making mine I don't put in the rivet, as it's damned uncomfortable to wear (I have heard of people's feet bleeding where it's rubbed). Adding loads of E6000 in this area does the job perfectly well. Don't forget to cut the notches in the boot soles... If you've gone this far, why stop now! Keep 'em coming and well done.

It's funny, because initially when Bro and I were creating our snow scouts, we did have the long Snowie Jacket on there. When it came round to approval, the LMO's decided to not include it (mainly because it wasn't on the source material, so I get it...) But I do have one for mine. High collared too.- 8 replies

4-5 years ago.... Is it really that long?? Blimey time flies. I wouldn't worry about it, we don't have "insanely detailed specifications".... their perfectly sane, just detailed! If your seamstress requires ay pointers, just shout up and either Marcel or I can assist.

I'll have a look. If you've just done it, and I haven't yet read it it will be in "outbox" rather than sent. As soon as I read it, it will switch to "sent". Edit: Just checked... can't see one. I'll send you one. Might have been a glitch with the forum upgrade.
