  1. haha there will be pictures! For the record the comparison will not be to negate either helmet, but to see the similarities/differences in the 2 most accurate helmets IMO.
  2. cool..since your question has been answered lol.. i just wanna say, Gino...i will be at NYCC and C7 with my scout, and i have an LW, would love to compare just to see for my own curiosity. Of the Fan made helmets the LW is definaltey the closest to screen used, so would technically be the closest to the efx. If may still be far off from the efx, but its def the first in line after it. Thats all i wanted to say
  3. i doubt it would. I had to mod one to get it to fit in the LW, which is significantly larger. You may be able to "make it fit" but i think thats more work than installing a regular hard hat liner.
  4. The auction was ended...likely because it was a scam. In one of the pictures it shows the back, and you can see the KS/SC type seam along the dome/back join, aside from that most of us here can tell by the look alone that this is NOT screen used...100% NOT screen used. I mean geez guy...If your gonna try and pull this off, at least use a LW
  5. +1...good stuff, i also have his TD greeblie
  6. Hey Tyler! Glad to see ya here! The helmet and belt its fine, as the seams were different and filled on the screen used helmet (down the center front to back rather than the ear to ear around the back like the KS) The screen used belt fronts were one piece, like MCs, so if yours is multiple pieces like the SC, then filling the seam is fine. HOWEVER...filling the seam for the tank and back is a no-no. There was a seam on the screen used, sometimes fairly large, so id say no go for that. Aslo a 1pc tank/backplate is unacceptable in the Legion, so making yours look like that would likely hinder clearance.
  7. These seem to be made very well, and the ribs are the same on both gloves. There are 5 on each. There are 4 on the real deal gloves that are slightly thicker ribs, but these will work for sure. The wife likes them so she may use these instead of her SA ones cuz they fit her better...we'll see how they hold up for trooping.
  8. Yes you can..i use bondo with/and fiberglass all the time. They are actually the same polyester resin base
  9. Got these in...they arent bad! The leather is thinner than our sitharmor or Wampawear gloves but is very soft is they are super comfy. remove the strap and add the suede. I'll post an official review thread on em with pics, but just wanted to say they are def worth the 10 bucks!
  10. haha Fabri-tac is a strong fabric glue that works on leather Yea i stumbled on em when helping someone with their scout...they were so inexpensive i figured id see how they were. I got the sitharmor ones and dont plan on getting rid of em though
  11. yea, you can fabri-tac on a piece of suede onto the fingers and thumb area and remove the strap, and i think they'd be good to go. the originals had straps as well, and also had a zipper that needed to be removed. I'll let everyone know how they are. I'm pretty sure i have leftover suede from my riding patch, so im gonna add that to these and if they are decent quality, I'll sell em here. I just wanted to see how they are quality wise.
  12. Has anyone seen these? They arent dead on but are pretty close! If we cant get a hold of our usual makers, they look like they would be a viable option, or good for a budget build. Right now they only have size small but they usually have all sizes. They are 9.99 free shipping! Not sure of the quality, but i mean for 9.99..... Im going to buy a pair just to see how they are. They are on e-bay from seller longlifeleather Search their listings for : Mens Leather Motorcycle Biker Gauntlet Gloves New All Sizes #1003
  13. Thats awesome! So you gonna tell us what its from or you just gonna tease us? haha
  14. Well you guys LMK i dont mind helping either of you out
  15. Just LMK Ericia haha Mike...what helmet do you have thats not done? LW?
  16. Ericia if you dont wanna tackle the second id gladly help ya out
  17. Nice...im guessing you got that from Walt. Its a nice helmet and he included my old DVH snout with it Don't be too intimidated by it. What i do is try and make the 2 halves as even as possible, then glue the inside strips in on one side first, leaving a "tab" sticking out to attach the other half to...then the other side can go on much easier. Then its like you said..fill sand fill sand etc lol
  18. Yes, NegativeEleven is correct, acetone eats plastic. It will likely destroy the finish, so use it only on areas you cant see and be very careful with it. Another option is to just trim the faceplate to the visor....it will have the faceplate slightly tilted more downward but may be a good option, especially if the plastic is thin as the acetone may just destroy it.
  19. Thats pretty awesome Christian! Excellent for those who cant or dont want to paint the detail. It is tricky to do with paint, so this will help alot of folks! Will you offer these on their own, or just with your kits?
  20. Gah! wish i was...next big SW event i'll be at will be C7 in Anaheim 2015
  21. Lookin pretty good! The one i saw at CV (or was C6..i dont remember lol) looked pretty good too and that was likely and early prototype! Looking forward to this one! This will be the one to display!
  22. Where to find MonCal?.......why in the spice mines of Kessel of course....making armor of who knows what!
  23. Yea 1 yard should be enough to do about 2 pairs. with a little extra...assuming its 1 yd X 60"
  24. I'll send ya a new one bud. The first pic you showed it looks like the paint was doing that due to the miold release. I usually do a light sand on them before painting. The edges of the fins looks like air bubbles though...i must have missed it when i bagged it up. I had a few bagged up ahead of time and just grabbed one...i'll get ya another one one out no prob
