  1. i know this is slow moving, but hey i got clients stuff to finish too lol! So i got my black vinyl for the boots, cotton webbing for the drop boxes and chest/back connection, black nylon webbing for the belt and some velcro and the 4 clips for the drop box straps (not pictured) . I also painted the first piece of armor satin black. I sanded off the wrnkle, and glued behind it to make sure it doesnt split. I sanded the entore piece with 60grit, then 100, then 220 then 400. Then i primed it. Hit it with 0000 steel wool, primed again and then shot 2 coats of fusion satin black.
  2. JunglieScout...most excellent mod on that DP..it looks fantastic! Question for ya...how much smaller is your modded DP compared to the LW? Is it alot? Im curious.
  3. My helmet is an LW actually. I have built a SC and thought it was small and looks weird, very soft detail also. The KS is nicer, and a touch bigger, closer to the DP size id think. "Exposure Blindness"..i like that one haha. I can see that for sure. Interesting on the sizing. Ive done that with Fett stuff as well. Take a measurement of a known found part, like the gauntlet calculator and take measurements from that. Works well id say.
  4. looks good to me!
  5. i painted mine on after they kept peeling off. Super easy to do with vinyl tape to get the curves....like they do on cars.
  6. whoa didnt know you had so much ink Issac...sweet! Id take a bit off the top of the snout, it shouldnt go up that high. The KS has a short snout area. I heated the thick lens with a heatgun with zero issues. I actually love the thick lens because it is crystal clear. If you dont want it, i'll take it off your hands Your right though this helmet is a pain to get together correctly I think it took me 2 sittings to get the visor onto the fceplate and it look straight on my shadow scout build. (technically it was a regular scout build i was doing for worm, so i havent done anything to it yet for the shadow scout)
  7. I know i know!! I need to get the det. clips and fix the det greeblie then get pics taken lol
  8. Haha it sucks getting close to them deadlines! I think the 2 pc is a good idea for the issues you were having, and if its all together well, you wouldnt be able to tell anyway The gloves you made look pretty good! Nice job! You can go sitharmor or wampawear for gloves nowadays..probably easier to find and well priced for a leather glove Looking forward to the rest of your build thread
  9. I know i know...i need to submit pics. Im waiting on Chef to do more det clips and then i think i'll have everything. My DJ det. greeblie has a chip in it (corner is broke off) because of a rambunctious fan at a baseball game event we did, so im probably going to have to replace that also, unless you'll let the chip slide lol. .
  10. lol..i am inspirational! Yea it can all be sanded down. The bad orange peel may have to be sanded and filled with spot filler, but the majority of it all looks sandable
  11. I figured id cross post this here because it is still a scout build and well why not Ok so...first armor pics lol... Here is the box o parts! it is a B grade SC kit. So most of the parts have very little "waves" in the plastic..light sanding would take out quickly. Then there were these that are a little worse, but still, fixable I forgot to take a pic of the one forearm part that has super crazy orangepeel. It almost looks like acid burns. I kind of like it, but im going to guess i cant leave it, especially if i decide to go specialist. I'll post a pic of that tomorrow. Overall this isnt bad at all. the helmet is a KS, that I mostly built, i'll snap pics of that tomorrow also. Also i glued the belt togther. One of the outer boxes was crooked so i did my best to make it straight when i attached it and just trimmed it to be as straight as possible. heres the full belt. Side pieces glued on from the back to hide as much of the seem as possible.
  12. This, all of this lol I think the MLC looks sad too lol. and a little narrow for my taste. The KS can be made to look pretty good. I like the LW the best , but they are hard to snag. You couldn't pry mine from my cold dead hands lol.
  13. Going by this screen cap, id say yes..just dont go beyond what you see here
  14. sweet, your almost there bud!
  15. Gloves look great! Glad you worked out the armor issue..i had a feeling a little patience with a heat gun should remedy your problem. As for the belt...the "correct" way is velcro. I actually like it better than the parachute clip because it gives you a little room for adjustment if you lose or gain a couple pounds from a garrison pizza party lol.
  16. Very good advise Steve...i had a similar incident when i got my first legion costume approved, which was a stormie and i was waiting on boots and missed New York Comi-con because of it doh!
  17. Shes booked up right now, but search "dreams 2 seams Costumes" on Facebook. I dont want to give her personal info out without her permission. I also have one of her officer/crewman hats...super nice, top notch stuff!
  18. i use this one: Made by contico. It has wheels on one end. This one is also airline legit size wise. Ive also shipped my costumes tom florida twice in these totes.
  19. I know Niki Powers does Scout jumpsuits. She modifies the redkap suit, she is in the US but is booked up right now until after C7. She does alot of soft part stuff so shes usually busy. But if you can get on a list for her stuff, it's top notch!
  20. Yea Mike from trooper bay over does it with the zip kicker lol. NO need to spray as much as he does there. Also using the kicker thins the zap a gap...so it gets really runny really fast, so you need to be aware of that especially if your working on the outside of your armor. When your gluing on the inside its obviously not as much of a concern. The kicker also inhibits the bond strength. BUT i have used zap a gap a lot for armor and Ive been happy with it.
  21. Awesome congrats Mickey! I really need to get my ass in gear on this lol
  22. Tucked in. The collar of the flight suit should close over it.
  23. You guys need to learn to control your dremels! LOL! Seriously though, i used my dremel for that. Slow and steady and it worked out perfectly fine
  24. I Like it. I think its good. Cant see anything that hasnt already been mentioned. Nice Job Mark!
  25. Your blaster is in the mail bud! You may be able to heat up the ends just a touch and get it to fit. Far enough to the end so you wont cause that ripple. How off is it? I have a 44" chest and have MC armor which is smaller than SC's and i didnt need to do anything to it. It does sit with a larger gap between the chest and back plates, but other than that it fits well.
