Where are your pour spouts? I would make the mold so your pouring into the back end of the blaster through the ribbed cylinder. I would put a vent hole also on the backside of the handle. I wouldnt try to mold the triggerguard into the blaster. Id make that a seperate piece out of either metal or maybe even plastic. Pour the resin slowly while kind of slushing it around to get everything coated pretty good until you start reaching full capacity. once its full tap the mold on the table..that helps release smaller bubbles as well. That should solve the problem.

Screen used aerator?

Thanks man. I just fabricated something for my scout snout detail with a faucet tip and some bondo, but id love to find what was actually used. -
Casting problem with my pistol
Darth Voorhees replied to BananoPower22's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Weapons
Yea that is a bit excessive. Looks like he shook up the resin before he poured it. You should be able to fill the small ones with some bondo spot filler pretty easily though. The bigger one would need regular bondo. I would contact him/them about it. -
I am a GML for my garrison. Just the sleeves sewn onto a jumpsuit, i would not clear. The suit mentioned above, has the entire vest look built into the jumpsuit i believe, and if that is the case, for standard clearance, i would allow that.

I just put up a tutorial on how to do a magnet mod for this here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10291 this with maybe a lil foam and you should have a perfect fit!

I decided to do this simple mod on mine and my wife's blasters. I got a 1/2"X 1" X 1/8th" magnet with a screw hole in the center. ( They seem to only have ones with 2 holes now, but i got them here: http://www.magnet4le...roducts_id=1167 ) then i used my dremel sanding barrel to sand away right under the nozzle in front of the blaster like this: I did this just enough to be the thicknes of the3 magnet, which is 1/8th" thick i then used zap a gap CA glue and a screw to attch the magnet to the blaster I forgot to take pics of the next step...which was basically putting a little bondo on the sides to even it all out, then paint! you can put either another magnet or a piece of metal like this..... ...into the holster where that part of the blaster rests. I did this with MC holsters with no problem. My wifes SC needed a little modding, but it worked in that holster as well. Hope this helps someone out!

Fiberglass helmet review
Darth Voorhees replied to NegativeEleven's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
EDIT: ha! ya beat me to it Chex! ya know after looking at it a few times...it looks like the same helmet "omen7" (ebay user name) is selling on e-bay, which looks just like Star Fortress's scout helmet..and even the pictures look the same as Star Fortress. I wonder if this skywalker guy is the same person, or recast Star Fortress's helmet. We all know to stay away from them dont we? lol- 31 replies

Fiberglass helmet review
Darth Voorhees replied to NegativeEleven's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Building experiance is always good. Of course with all the modding of this you may want to do, and then if you wanted to cast parts you may end up spending more in supplies than just buying a helmet...but sometimes what you learn is priceless.- 31 replies

Fiberglass helmet review
Darth Voorhees replied to NegativeEleven's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Awesome, sometimes i make posts like this and then delete them as i dont want to sound like a jerk, but like you, i too appreciate when someone points out what needs to be done other than just posting "nice find" and then talking about "how bad it is"with other troopers. So, im glad i didnt offend Yea styrene is what cracks like mad. Just like you said, one little crack and it tears like paper! ABS is MUCH stronger. I can show ya pictures of my helmet if that will help. The MLC isnt the most accurate but it is up there with the better ones, and its fiberglass so the materials are the same. Off hand..the things you mentioned are definately things that need work...brow slots shouldnt be there at all. they are decals. The visor opening should be larger, the snout detail piece needs to be replaced. (i just started making those, and will donate one to ya ) Snout/nose should be shorter and more vertical. The visor should also have a slight curve across the top. The MLC doesnt even have that, but it should be there.- 31 replies

Fiberglass helmet review
Darth Voorhees replied to NegativeEleven's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
My personal opinion on ABS vs Fiberglass..ABS is better. I have dropped ABS helmets down steps and nothing happens to them, aside from maybe losing a greeblie or 2.. Drop a fiberglass helmet down steps and its going to get destroyed. Mind you,. this is coming from a guy who currently owns a fiberglass MLC3 helmet. I am however waiting for LW to have more of his ABS helmets available because they are the absolute best. IMO. you could have contacted MLC direct or got one through MonCal, if you wanted fiberglass and saved yourself some work. The only thing i like about fiberglass helmets over ABS is it feels more like a "real" helmet. But they are very fraglie.and i actually wont travel out of state (like to Florida for celebration for example) with a fiberglass helmet. On the note of fixing this up...its going to be alot of work. Most of it is WAY off. Being a GML i wouldnt clear this helmet just based on the shape, its very off. However, being fiberglass, and you having some experience with that, you may be able to chop it up and fix it up. I personally would love a project like this, but i already have too much to do lol. This is going to be ALOT of work to get it to 501st standards. Even the donpost/rubies needs alot of work, but it looks better in overall shape (aside from the warping) Im not trying to be a jerk, just telling you the honest truth so you know whether or not you want to move forward. It would definitely be a fun project for sure. i know ya from TDH dont i- 31 replies

A bit confused on how to attach the pouches?
Darth Voorhees replied to dankelzaga's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
The pockets on mine are attched to the inside of the armor. I found that best. I've had them attched to the bund, but i like em better on the armor. Yes you can add suspenders(id suggest making them webbing, not elastic, as they will just stretch and still sag) to the bund. I have them on mine. As long as they stay hidden your good! Mine are webbing with slide adjusters and parachute clips -

Found part snout greeblie woot!
Darth Voorhees replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Ok got the thinner in and tried again. It really tried to make sure that rubber was in between those fins...and i think the thinner helped. We'll see when the mold is ready! Probably wont know till Friday as im going to the in-laws tonight for the holiday, and staying there until Friday morning. I'll keep everyone posted...but i got a good feeling about this one! -

Darth Voorhees replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Having issues with making the mold for this. The rubber isnt settling down in between the fins all the way and causing bubbles. I did 2 molds and both did this. So i ordered some thinner for the rubber, so hopefully that will resolve the problem. Stand by troops! -
Why is the sniper rifle not canon? The Scouts use them in the video games. Or are we talking only MOVIE canon?

I curious about that myself sskunky...HAS anyone discovered the correct , what i believe is a faucet aerator? Looking at the one i have now...it isnt as close as i thought it was. Iv e found a few online that seem much better, but just curious if it was ever truly "discovered" -
Does anyone actually know what the aerator model item number is? Has it been discovered? The one i have isnt as good as i thought, i have found some that matches closely to what appears on screen, but am curious to know if that part was ever identified
