  1. i think you can do it bud, BUT if your really unsure of yourself, i would gladly do it for ya for just the cost of materials and shipping
  2. will do Keith!
  3. nope no taping off..just spraying from a distance
  4. Thanks SUP_Ronin Never a stupid question Nate... Its acrylic applied with a chip brush (house painting cheapy brush) and a touch of what they did for the screen used, which is spray paint...i used my go to weathering spray paint, Krylon black primer
  5. Funny you would mention this Keith....i am waiting for a quote now for making water slide decals. They will be made to fit the LW. Im just hoping the cost is reasonable. If it is i will be offering them...i sent them a message late friday so im hoping maybe i'll hear from them tomorrow or tuesday.
  6. Thanks John, and yes, i am VERY happy Thanks Nate!
  7. Cool man...yea the vinyl ones are nice, but in the name of accuracy, ive been thinking about doing the decal sets in waterslide for a while, and ironically just a couple of days before you posted i started looking for places that professionally do this. Check out this pic of a screen used helmet...it just screams waterslide :
  8. Thanks Guys! It was not easy getting it together, but SO worth it!
  9. Just finished this up and just wanted to show everyone. Im not going to lie, this helmet is not simple to put together, and i had a few hiccups along the way, but it was all resolved and in the end it came out awesome. Im VERY happy with this helmet ...id recommend it to anyone! The Snout is one of mine. It was actually a test one cast in a grey resin i custom mixed white and black pigment into the resin. The "hook" decal is one of mine also. The rest of the decals are LW. LW's hook is actually just fine, but i wanted to use one of mine, cuz well, i make them lol. I also installed the helmet liner, which also needs to be modded to fit into the helmet properly. I will post a how to of that soon. Im using the real 3m bolts in grey as well. I also have magnets locking the face down.
  10. Still waiting for a reply :/
  11. Ok cool guys....yea I was never happy with the ones you do at home on your inkjet printers. If the price quote is reasonable, ill put up an interest thread
  12. I've actually. been doing some research on having waterslide decals made to offer to members. I found a place just gotta get a quote.....then i'll see if enough people are interested in em
  13. Originals were waterslide. You can tell by the pics of an original helmet floating around how the decals appear to have "flaked" off. Total give away of waterslide decals
  14. Ive been naggin' him ever so gently for the past few months for one. I know his job really keeps him busy and he doesnt have alot of time to do the kits, so i just kept sending friendly reminders every so often that i still want one when he had the time. He always returned my messages, even when he had nothing to offer. I happen to message him yesterday and he got back to me that in fact, he had one left, so i jumped on it!. Word is he may have a few available within the next 3-4 weeks. But please be patient when you message him cuz he is probably going to get flooded with requests. I actually asked him if it was ok to post this as i didnt wanna cause his inbox to flood! John is a great guy so be nice! So now may be the time if you want one..he likely wont have a whole lot good luck guys!
  15. LMAO! thats Me BTW. Yes it is true i now have a LW helmet kit on the way...i am beyond stoked about it!
  16. Thanks Almost..the helmet jumpsuit boots and some small stuff have to go in a over the shoulder bag...but everything else fits in there!
  17. Nice!!! i did something like that to my fett tote back in 2009. What was cool was that it was silver to begin with, so when the paint scrapes, it just looks like weathering haha Here is mine now:
  18. I saw that video a couple of years ago, might be why when Donovan posted it didn't get a lot of attention....none the less, it is a great video and always good to post it up every now and then for the newer folks
  19. The ones most of us use are the "ninja style" ones. I just pull mine just over my chin. they are pretty stretchy and its not uncomfortable at all. I can even put it under my chin, but then my skin can show to a little kid looking up at me, so i always put it just over my chin/under my lip.
  20. yep..i sewed in elastic stirrups on mine too!
  21. More than i prefer on my own, but i think it looks great!
  22. This is lookin awesome Will! Once you have a full kit ready..i MAY have to get one ...nice job bud!
  23. i have used the humbrol grey i use on TK helmets..and have also used testors 1138 grey, which is only slightly different but i actually like it better. The white, i just used any gloss white that matc hed the armor i have closely. I have used rustoleum appliance white and i have also used regular krylon gloss white.
