You’re probably on this already, but if not, check with Chopper on the return edge you have along the top of the drop boxes.

Jenny your set up so far looks fantastic and the fit is outstanding! Excellent work. You should be proud. Well done trooper! I’m looking forward to seeing your armor work.

Mikerscout Scout(Mandalorian) Lancer approved

Nice work on the helmet Mike and yeah that 2x paint doesn’t play well with its own primer. It also doesn’t play nice when spraying over its own metallics. -
Looking good Trooper! Good luck!

I actually stitched my bone to the shaft when making the two stitch lines on the bone and then just glued the side portions of the bone to the toe. No worries now about it coming off over time while trooping.

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
Aradun replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I can see the images with Tapatalk and in Safari mobile. -
Thanks! There’s a definite learning curve to using liquid resin. I’m still trying to get it down. Using a foam brush is waaay better than the standard chip brush and putting it on thinner is better in my opinion. Combined with smaller layer heights there wouldn’t be too much for the resin to fill. It is easier to sand down a few drops and runs than to remove all the print lines with the resin coating. I had very little sanding to do on my DLT-19X.

3D Printing JFO Scout (progress thread)
Aradun replied to Ammonites's topic in Scout Trooper:JFO WIP
Using that 3D pen to weld pieces together is ingenious! Great tip. Now I’m off to Amazon to get me one! -

Mandalorian Scout Lancer drafting
Aradun replied to BikerScout007's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" HQ
Yep no rivets on the Mando and I’m pretty sure it’s just a single strap unlike ROTJ that has two, but perhaps a specific width for the strap could be noted for Lancer if it can be nailed down. -
zv288bot's Rebel's Biker Scout Build Thread

Making steady progress. Keep it up! -
Saw that you posted about this elsewhere and got solid info from Bikerscout007. If you’re interested in a pattern I have a pdf posted in my WIP linked below. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/21137-dennis-scout-wip-lancer/page/2/ There’s also a link in my WIP to Strider’s original cod pattern which my pattern is based on. Both of us constructed ours to be velcroed to FV, which is different than the method suggested by Bikerscout007 in your other post, but like he said there are several ways of doing it.

Congrats! You made quick work of your build. Well done!

Before you sew the Velcro closed. Pin it securely and do a test fit. You may find slipping it over your head to be more challenging that it seems. I cannot slip mine over my head lest I run the risk of tearing it. You might need to widen the vest so that it has some play which will make it easier to slide on and off. My recommendation would be to leave it unsewn, and just leave it Velcroed so you can slip it over your head. This way if there’s an issue you can just undo the Velcro any time as needed.

That’ll never fly Nathan [emoji6]. The jet pack was a power up that could be added to any trooper in BF1, and wasn’t specific to the Scout.

Go easy and slow removing that painter’s tape from your scope. It lifted some of the black paint as well as chipped the red when I removed mine. In hindsight, I should have scored it lightly with an exacto knife along the edge of the tape to prevent it from chipping the red when removed. The black was less of a concern b/c I just converted it into weathering.

The 1/2” strip runs around the entire toe from dog bone to dog bone on either side. Looking at the image above it runs from heel to heel.

Spray paint for thermal detonator tube portion
Aradun replied to hokie1's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
If you don’t want to go the paint route or it gives you issues, you could try gray electrical lamp cord, 16/2 should do the trick. You’d just need to split the cord in half down the middle, which is easy to do, so that you can wrap it around the TD tube. You’d need to make sure that both wires are encased an a smooth casing. Sometimes one side is ribbed and the other is smooth. In which case you’d need double the length so that both sides of the TD could be finished with the smooth casing and look uniform. -
Looking good brother!
-
If we lived a lot closer Nathan I’d let you do all of my sanding and I’d happily tackle all of your painting/weathering lol. For some reason your images are showing as broken links in TT. I’ll have to bounce over to the forum to see if the issue persists.

Congrats on your approval Fred! Well done and welcome to the ranks!
