  1. For the Mando Scout, there is no specified measurement for the offset of the pouches from the ribs for basic or Level 2.
  2. You could remove the laces, but I’d advise against not replacing them with elastic if you do. Going without anything may result in blistering if the boot has a loose fit. As noted above, leaving the laces in works fine and does allow for some tightening if needed. If you’re worried about a aesthetics, any visible bumps from the laces will be covered over by the Dogbone.
  3. Slow and steady, Michah. You’re making good progress. Keep those questions coming. We’re happy to assist.
  4. Congrats Bryan! Once you get your TB number make sure to request full access. A whole new area of the forum will open for you. As for a blaster, I recommend Blasterworks. Joe Fencl, a fellow TB, has them in stock and ready to ship and they are rubber. Super durable and kid friendly. https://blasterworks.net
  5. The adjustments you made are good. The following are just dressing suggestions to help tighten up the overall look. Your pouches can come in towards the center. Ideally, they should start about an 1” or so from the last rib on the bund. Not sure if your pouches are secured with Velcro or stitched on. If they’re permanently secured leave them be unless your GML tells you to move them. Try to align your bicep so that it is centered with your shoulder bell. Rotate your forearm armor forward so that it is centered on the V of the gauntlet. Center the drop boxes on the side of your hips and then the buckles are centered between the belt and the drop box. Again, easy dressing issues. You might not need them for approval, but keep them in mind when dressing for a troop. You’d be amazed at how these little adjustments really impact the final look. Good luck with your approval!
  6. @gmrhodes13 Glen, have you heard anything over at FISD regarding TRamp?
  7. I asked the same question of these guys back when I was a newb and got the same response. I’ve been doing as Bikerscout007 and Dart have suggested ever since without any issues. Suede looks great too with a nice weathered look.
  8. Once you adjust your bund as Chopper noted your cod will also be raised and the dreaded cod crunchy should be eliminated. If not then just lengthen the strap a bit. Not sure if anyone threw this link out to you, but check out the following thread. It has great tips on how to keeping things from shifting and sagging while trooping. You should be able to incorporate some of the suggestions as you build your kit. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/w18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/ Keep up the great work! You’re make great progress.
  9. That was my thought, and if so, then hopefully it will be limited to the CGI assets and not appear on any live action scouts. You have no idea how crazy this “we were too lazy to remember how to don our knee armor once the Empire fell” makes me. [emoji2957][emoji1787]
  10. I’m sure someone with the ambition to follow in your footsteps and make their own will ask eventually, so . . . what was the name of the fabric you used and is there a link to it? Again fantastic job!
  11. Fantastic work Stefan! They look excellent! Keep up the great work and let us know if you have any questions along the way.
  12. The 19D, as far as I know, is only listed in the Imperial Death Trooper CRL which is handled by the Special Ops Detachment. I’m unaware of any fully printed versions currently. There were some available on Etsy.com a while back when R1 was hot, but I’ve not seen any for some time. It’d be best to hop over to Spec Ops to see if they have any known vendors for fully printed ones. https://forum.specops501st.com If you’re considering this variant for use with a Scout, note that it is not an approvable variant for any Scout costume. Check with your GML before purchasing it if this is your intent. Some Garrisons do not permit mixing weapons from other CRLs when trooping and some GMLs won’t approve a blaster that is not apart of a CRL for your approved costumes.
  13. Make sure to check out the following video if you haven’t already. RS has build videos on YouTube as well which may be helpful in determining trim lines etc. Let us know if you have any questions. We’re here to help.
  14. Here are two places: https://trooperbay.com/product/biker-scout-helmet-decals-star-trooper-wars-return-of-the-jedi-bikerscout-cosplay-costuming-sci-fi-501st/ https://studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/bike_armorforsale.html You may need to contact Studio Creations directly to inquire about price. I’m pretty sure he sells the decals, but I don’t think he has them listed on his site. You may not need all of the decals. For example Trooperbay includes a gray decal for the snout and an old style “fishhook” decal, neither of which you will use.
  15. That looks good and should do fine.
  16. Everything that requires specifics sizing and material is noted in the CRL. It’s always good to have it on hand for constant reference. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper This post here is also good to read through as you work on your build so that you can add Velcro and such as needed. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/w18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/
  17. A word on RS. If you’re buying new from them you’ll have no issue with fit. However, if you’re looking at a used helmet make sure it is not one of their older Red Label helmets. Several years ago RS produced two versions of their bucket. Both were identical in every respect except material. The Red Label was a more affordable option in comparison to their full ABS bucket. The bucket itself on the Red Label was fiberglass and the face shield and visor was ABS. Unlike ABS, the fiberglass has very little flex to it and you may find it a challenge to get over your head. You can tell a Red Label by looking at the interior of the bucket. If it’s lined in black fabric it’s fiberglass. If it has no lining its ABS and you’ll have no issue. RS no longer makes the Red Label version of their helmet so buying new will get you a full ABS helmet and you’ll have no issues with fit.
  18. I’ll second the masking of the snout area and using spray paint. I’ve seen hand painted snouts and the brush strokes are always visible to me creating a textured effect. The spray paint will give you a cleaner look.
  19. A “Film accurate T-bit detail” is for Level 2. Back in 2022 the part for the square portion of the T-bit was identified by RS. Here’s the post on the part identification: https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/23044-rotj-scout-bicep-t-bit-accurate-parts/ The builds you’re referencing that have the T-bits with circles facing forward on both arms are before 2022 update to the Level 2 requirements of the CRL. Most vendors have updated their files so that both T-bits are now cast identical. You’re good to go with what you have!
  20. Just curious, but have you used fans before? The Scout bucket is pretty open underneath, and with the open ears, and lens not sitting flush inside the bucket, there’s usually enough circulation to keep things cooler and avoid fogging issues. The noise of the fans makes it a challenge to hear as well. But if you run hot and sweat easily, you may find them helpful. I’m sure someone will post up photos, but wanted to chime in with some food for thought.
  21. If you’re posting to the forum via your phone, consider the free version of the Tapatalk app. It’ll allow you to access the forum and post medium res photos straight from your phone into your posts. No additional site like Imgur etc to deal with.
  22. Looking forward to seeing your build come to life! And keep those questions coming once everything is in hand. Where here to help.
