  1. congratulations!
  2. for comparison ... the dvh blaster is about 7 1/2" long and 4 1/2" tall and 2 3/4" wide the pistol grip/trigger guard opening is about 1 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" tall
  3. congrats ... keep us posted through your build.
  4. hello, looking good. you can get that easily approved for basic. as far as adjustments that i see: ~ forearm armor needs to be outside the gloves and moved to the front ~ elbow armor needs to be moved around to the front ~ your pouches look abit to big. 6x5x2 is ideal ... fixing the pouch size will make your bund to long and youll have to fix that as well. ~ looks like you could bring your chest/back armor down or cut the shoulder brides so that there is not gap on top of you shoulder and armor go get your basic approval ... fix the small issues and work to get that lancer approval you are pretty close! heres the new pouch info .. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=19200
  5. yes, i thought the same. just giving some thoughts and ideas to try ... i had also thought to put a small screw in the area and then fill over top the screw head(cutting the screw on the inside so, not to poke your skull) ... this would give more area for the epoxy to adhere too. i also wonder if ca glue would better option than epoxy .. ca glue is tough to get off plastics as it bonds/heats to the plastic.
  6. i thought about this more after posting. youll want to be careful with your altmann and loosen the nut so, not to break or crack your helmet when opening the visor. then i was thinking before adding epoxy ... maybe, add a dot of hot glue and see how it works before making something permanent. you can do alot more testing with size and location of the bump with hot glue and its easier to remove. i use some locktite 5 minute plastic epoxy from lowes/home depot, very small tube and comes with 2 premix nozzles, with alot of my helmet projects ...
  7. i have thought about this since we talked and well ... why not try to add a dot of epoxy in roughly the same area as an original. raise your visor and mark where the bump should be. remove visor and sand that area to give the epoxy something to adhere too .. add abit of epoxy to that area. you may, need to sand it down abit or add more to get the proper lock. that seems to be all that locks the visor in place ... you dont need alot. heres a reference pic of the rs and altman ... pinkish faint bump on the rs is where the original locks, on the altman it will be in a different location good luck!
  8. easy basic approval for sure .. nice job! get your basic approval and come back here to get that lancer approval
  9. glad that you got the pics worked out! i would bring them out ... more centered in between the tube ends and the td box ... if you have them to close to the box you may have troubles getting it clipped onto the belt due to the velcro overlap on the belt. also, you will want to remove some of the back in the center section leaving only the second hole
  10. updating my scout abit .... ~ changed to black zipties ~ cut the holster slots out ~ and i got a bit dirty
  11. hello, for the td clips i put them about in the middle of the tube area have a look at this lancer build thread and you can see some pics http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=17305&view=findpost&p=159336 and as far as photo uploading to the forum, i would suggest using a photo hosting like imgur(or similar) to upload your photos to and then you can use a link they give you to post your photos here. hope that info helps -- look forward to seeing your pics
  12. if you have a look at my build thread i posted how to install the stripes/ranks http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=18128&view=findpost&p=169717 good luck!
  13. i havent used bob smith's but, it looks the same as what i use ... i get my from hobbytown with their label on it and theirs says its a red baron adhesive
  14. nice, good profile line too! i had to bondo that same area on a couple of my builds. if your going to make a template for the snout i suggest not using blue painters tape ... i have not had good luck with it and there was always some black paint bleed through. i found a tape called frogtape and i got the yellow version they offer ... there was no black paint bleed through with this tape. looking forward to seeing this finished ... are you going to weather it?
  15. check this thread out ... http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=18912&hl=%2Bnew+%2Bimage&fromsearch=1
  16. trust me when i say ... and im not kidding!
  17. i have a thread here with the pics of the covers .... here you go...
  18. i had my belt break/crack pretty bad within a few troops too .... heres my fix and it has worked well so far ... scrap abs plastic, ca glue(medium) with insta-set cut some scrap abs and bend it to the shape you need take the ca glue and glue the scraps to the broken areas and like chopper mentioned, use a backer for the riveted area ... i glued my backer to the plastic belt then riveted through it.
  19. there was a link here ... maybe its the one you are trying http://forum.bikersc...?showtopic=7084 but, its throws and error ... [#10340] You do not have permission to view this topic. seems there may be an issue with the new adjusted boards(wip threads) anyways, you should have a look over here http://forum.bikersc...opic=17305&st=0 strider post all the info you need as well a variation of a template for the pouch -- 6" tall 5" wide 2" thick http://dr-slotty.com...ch_template.pdf
  20. ncwerewolf's kit almost finished ... time to weather this beauty, lol and well, while i was waiting for paint to degas ... heres #7 built
  21. your visor sides need to come in more ... there should be no gap betweeen faceplate and inside of the visor from the top view it looks like the visor can come in still abit more(more on the left side than right) the picture below showing red dots and green lines.... the reason you need to trim the return edge of visor is to be able to bring the visor sides to the faceplate, this is very important on the bottom return edge(green lines) ~ red dots need to line up -- faceplate tight to visor ~ green lines -- this bottom return edge of the visor needs trimmed to allow the faceplate to sit inside the visor ... trim that visor return edge and youll be able to get a better fit
  22. your locals... i have trooped with him recently. either you or him get with me and i may be able to help fix it
  23. congrats shortstack!
  24. i think that is just the way that walt has made his kit ... if you look at the bottom and the top of the ear on the helmet ... those lines do line up with the lines on the visor ... but, the very top line doesnt. i dont think it can be fixed .. well, walt would have to fix his mould, the top half of the visor is to tall
